Advice on child seats
The incorrect in
stallation of a child sea
t in
a
vehicle compromises the child's protection in the event of an accident. Remember to fas
ten th
e sea
t belts or th
e
child
sea
t harness
keeping the slack
in
relation to the child's body
to a minimum ,
even
for short journeys.
To insta

hicle's
seat belt, ensure that the belt is well tightened on the child seat and that it holds the child seat firmly against the vehicle's seat
.
For o
ptimum installation o
f the "
forward
facin
g" child seat, ensure that the back o
f
the c
hild
seat
is in contact w
ith the back
of the vehicle's seat and that the head restraint does not cause any discom
fort.
If the head restraint has to be removed
,
ensure that it is stored or attached securely to prevent it from being thrown around the vehicle in the event of sharp brakin
g.
Children under the age of 10 must not travelin the "for ward facing" position on the front passen
ger seat, unless the rear seats are
alrea
dy occup
ied by other c
hild
ren, cannot
be used
or are abse
nt.
Deactivate the passen
ger airba
g * when a
"rear
facing" child seat is installed on the
front seat.
Other wise, the child would risk being seriously injured or killed if the airbag were to infl
ate.

Safety
For the airbags to be fully effective, observe the following safety rules:
Front airbags
Do not drive holding the steering wheel by itsspokes or resting your hands on the centre part of the wheel.
Passen
gers must not place their feet on the
dashboard. If possible, do not smoke as deplo

gs can cause burns or the risk o
f
injury from a ci
garette or pipe.
Never remove or p

hit it violently. Side airba

Use only approved covers on the seats. These

fix or attach an

Do not sit with the upper part of the body any nearer to the door than necessary.
Curtain airbags Do not fix or attach anything to the roof. Thiscould cause injury to the head if the curtain airbag is triggered. Do not remove the

Sit in a normal upri
ght position.
Wear a correct

belt.
Do not leave anything between the occupants and the airbags (a child, pet, object...). This could hamper the operation of the airbags o

broken
into,

purpose.
