may also be accompanied by the fixed

The
distance remaining may be

eighted by the time factor, depending

Therefore,

n if you have exceeded the period

ince the last service, indicated in the
maintenance

uide.
For

ueHDi Diesel versions, the
spanner
may also be brought on earlier
t
han expected, depending on the
d
egree of deterioration of the engine oil
(
depending on the country of sale).
The
rate of deterioration of the engine
o
il depends on the driving conditions in
w
hich the vehicle is used.

on vehicles fitted with an electric oil level
indicator, information on the oil level is
d
isplayed in the instrument panel for a few
s
econds when the ignition is switched on, after
t
he service information.
Engine oil level indicator*
The level shown will only be correct
if the vehicle is on level ground and
t
he engine has been off for more than
3
0 minutes.
Oil level correct
Oil level low
This is indicated by the flashing of " O I L" ,
a ccompanied by illumination of the service
w
arning lamp, an audible signal and a
m
essage.
If
the low oil level is confirmed by a check using
t
he dipstick, the level must be topped up to
p
revent damage to the engine.
Refer
to the "Checking levels" section.
Oil level indicator fault
This is signaled by the flashing of "OIL- -".
C ontact a CITRoË N dealer or a qualified
workshop.
In the event of a fault with the electric oil level
indicator,
the engine oil level is no longer
mon
itored.
While
the system is faulty, you should check
t
he engine oil level using the manual dipstick
l
ocated under the bonnet.

System allowing certain displays to be switched off for night driving.

instrument panel remains illuminated with

Anti-theft protection
Electronic engine immobiliser
The key contains an electronic chip which has a special code. When the ignition is switched

n, this code must be recognised in order for

tarting to be possible.
This
electronic engine immobiliser locks the
e
ngine management system a few minutes
a
fter the ignition is switched off and prevents
s
tarting of the engine by anyone who does not
h
ave the key.In the event of a fault, you are
informed
by illumination of this
w
arning lamp, an audible signal and a message
i
n the screen.
In
this case, your vehicle will not start; contact
a
CITROËN dealer as soon as possible.-

Manual central locking
control
Locking
F Press button A to lock the vehicle.
The red indicator lamp on the button comes on.
Unlocking
F Press button A again to unlock the vehicle.
The red indicator lamp on the button switches off.
If one of the doors is open, central
locking
from
the
inside
does
not
take
p
lace. If
the vehicle is locked from the outside,
t
he red indicator lamp flashes and

utton A is inactive.

n this case, use the remote control

r the key to unlock the vehicle.
Automatic central
locking
System which provides full automatic locking or unlocking of the doors and the boot while
d
riving.
You
can activate or deactivate this function.
Locking
When the speed exceeds 6 mph (10 km/h), the doors and the boot lock automatically.
Unlocking
F Above 6 mph (10 km/h), press button A to
unlock the doors and the boot temporarily.
If one of the doors is open, the
automatic
central locking does not take
p
lace.
If the boot is open, the automatic
c
entral locking of the doors is active.
Driving
with
the
doors
locked
can
make
a
ccess
more
difficult
for
the
emergency
s
ervices
in
the
event
an
emergency.
