Emergency braking assistance
System which, in an emergency, enables you
to obtain the optimum braking pressure more
quickly, thus reducing the stopping distance.

Activation

It is triggered by the speed at which the brake pedal is pressed.
The effect of this is a reduction in theresistance of the pedal and an increase in
braking efficiency.
When braking in an emergency, press firmly without releasing the pressure.

The anti-slip regulation (also known as TractionControl) optimises traction to prevent skiddingof the wheels, by acting on the brakes of the
driving wheels and on the engine.
The electronic stability programme acts on the
brake of one or more wheels and on the engine
to keep the vehicle on the trajectory required
by the driver, within the limits of the laws of physics.

Activation

These systems are activated automaticallyeach time the vehicle is started.
They come into operation in the event of a gripor trajectory problem.
This is indicated b
y flashing of this
warning lamp in the instrument panel.

instrument panel (e.g.: star tingthe engine).




Moving off
If position Nis selected inadvertently while driving, allow the engine to return to idle then select position D
to accelerate.


When the engine is running at idle, with the brakes released, if position R , D
or
M
is selected, the vehicle moves evenwithout the accelerator being pressed. When the engine is running, never leave children in the vehicle without supervision.
When carrying out maintenance with the engine running, apply the parkingbrake and select position P
.

Start the engine.
If this procedure is not followed, there is an
audible signal, accompanied by the display of
an warning message.
) With the engine running, press the brake
pedal.

Brake wear depends on the style
of driving, par ticularly in the case
of vehicles used in town, over shor tdistances. It may be necessary to have
the condition of the brakes checked, even between vehicle services. The
gearbox does not require any

If excessive travel or a loss of effectiveness of this system is
noticed, the parking brake must be checked, even between two services.
Unless there is a leak in the circuit, a drop in
th
e brake fluid level indicates that the brake pads are worn. Checkin
g this system must be done by aCITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
After washing the vehicle, dampness, or in wintry conditions, ice can form on the brake discs and pads: brakingefficiency may be reduced. Make light brake applications to dry and defrost the brakes.

RACING towbar

Your vehicle cannot be fitted with a towbar. The space occupied by thesport diffuser prevents this.


Tyres
)
Check the tyre pressures of the towing
vehicle and of the trailer, obser ving the
recommended pressures.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases the
temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electrically controlled, its coolingcapacity is not dependent on the engine speed. )To lower the engine speed, reduce your
speed.
The maximum towed load on a long incline depends on the gradient and the ambient
temperature.
In all cases, keep a check on the coolant
temperature.
Braking
To w i ng a trailer increases the braking distance.
To avoid overheating of the brakes on a longmountain type of descent, the use of engine
braking is recommended.

Lighting

Check the electrical lighting and signallingon the trailer.
The rear parking sensors will bedeactivated automatically if a genuineCITROËN towbar is used.)
If the warning lamp and the
STOPwarning lamp come on,
stop the vehicle and switch off
the engine as soon as possible.
