To check the level or top up the
fluid on vehicle fitted with headlamp
washers, immobilise the vehicle and
switch of the engine.
Screenwash / headlamp wash fluid level
F Open the bonnet and secure it with the st ay.Specification of the fluid
To ensure optimum cleaning and to avoid
freezing, the fluid should never be topped up or
replaced by plain water.
In wintry conditions, the use of a fluid
with an ethyl alcohol or methanol base is
recommended.

pen the screenwash reservoir filler cap.

ake and pinch the level gauge to block its
breather.

emove the gauge completely from
the reservoir to read the level in the
transparent section.

op up if necessary.

efit the filler cap to the reservoir and
close the bonnet.

Practical information

Changing direction indicator bulbs
Amber coloured bulbs, such as the
direction indicators, must be replaced
with bulbs of identical specifications
and colour.
Rapid flashing of the direction indicator
warning lamp (right or left) indicates the
failure of a bulb on that side.
Model with halogen (type 2) and xenon
headlamps
For the replacement of this type of LED lamp,
contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
workshop.

urn the bulb holder a quarter of a turn and
extract it.
F

ull out the bulb and change it.
To reassemble, carry out these operations in
reverse order.
Access to bulbs
Depending on the engine and only on the left
hand side, you must first carry out the following
operations for access to the protective covers
on the bulbs.

emove the air deflector by unclipping
each of its three attachment points.
F

nclip the bonnet release cable at its
two
fixings.
F

M
ove the cable down.
After changing the failed bulb, remember to
put everything back in place (cable and air
deflector). Model with halogen headlamps
(t yp e 1)

Access to the battery
Procedure for starting the engine using another battery or charging a discharged battery.If your vehicle has an automatic
gearbox, do not try to start the engine
by pushing the vehicle.
General points
Lead-acid starter batteries
Batteries contain harmful substances
such as sulphuric acid and lead.
They must be disposed of in
accordance with regulations and must
not, in any circumstances, be discarded
with household waste.
Take used remote control batteries and
vehicle batteries to a special collection
point.Protect your eyes and face before
handling the battery.
All operations on the battery must be
carried out in a well ventilated area and
away from naked flames and sources
of sparks, so as to avoid the risk of
explosion or fire.
Wash your hands after wards.The battery is located under the bonnet.
For access to the (+) terminal:

r elease the bonnet using the interior lever,
then the exterior safety catch,
F

r
aise the bonnet and secure it with its stay,
F

l
ift the plastic cover for access to
the
(+) terminal.

Running out of fuel (Diesel)
On vehicles fitted with Diesel engines, the fuel
system must be primed if you run out of fuel.
For all versions other than BlueHDi, refer to the
corresponding engine compartment view.Other HDi engines
(except BlueHDi version)
For more information on Diesel
misfuel prevention , refer to the
corresponding section.
If the engine does not start first
time, don't keep trying but start the
procedure again from the beginning. F

dd at least five litres of Diesel fuel to the
tank.

pen the bonnet.
F

I
f necessary, unclip the styling cover for
access to the priming pump.
F

queeze and release the priming
pump repeatedly until resistance
is felt (there may be resistance at
the first press).
F

perate the starter to start the engine
(if the engine does not start at the first
attempt, wait around 15 seconds before
trying again).
F

I
f the engine does not start after a few
attempts, operate the priming pump again
then start the engine.
F

efit the styling cover and clip it in place.

lose the bonnet.
BlueHDi engines
F Fill the fuel tank with at least five litres of Diesel.

witch on the ignition (without starting the
engine).

ait around 6 seconds and switch off the
ignition.

Identification markingsVarious visible markings for the identification of your vehicle.
A.
Vehicle identification number (VIN) under the bonnet.This number is engraved on the bodywork near
the suspension damper mounting.
B.
Vehicle identification number on the dashboard.This number is indicated on a self-adhesive
label which is visible through the windscreen. D. Tyre/paint label.
This label is affixed to the driver's front pillar.
Low tyre pressures increase fuel
consumption. The original tyres fitted to the vehicle
may have a load index or speed rating
higher than those given on the label;
this has no effect on the inflation
pressures.
C. Manufacturer's label.
The VIN is indicated on a self-destroying label
affixed to the driver's centre pillar. It bears the following information:

t he tyre pressures, for unladen and laden
conditions,

t
he tyre sizes (including the load index and
speed rating),
-

t
he spare tyre inflation pressure,
-

t
he paint colour code.Checking tyre pressures
The tyre pressures should be checked when
cold at least monthly.
The pressures given on the label are valid for
cold tyres. If you have driven for more than
10
minutes or more than 6 miles (10 kilometres)
at more than 30 mph (50 km/h), the tyres will be
warm; in this case 0.3 bar (30 kPa) should be
added to the pressures given on the label.
Never reduce the pressure of a warm
tyre.
