Cruise control
System which automatically maintains thespeed of the vehicle at the value programmed
by the driver, without any action on the accelerator pedal.
The
functions of this system are grouped
together on the steering mounted controls.
1.Cruise control mode selection dial.
2. Speed programming/value decrease button. 3.
Speed programming/value increase button.4.Cruise control off/resume button.
5.Memorised speeds display button.

Steering mounted controls
The cruise control system cannot, in anycircumstances, replace the need to respect speed limits, nor can it replace the need for vigilance and responsibility on the par t of the driver.
You are advised to keep your feet near the pedals at all times.

together in the instrument panel screen.

Displays in the instrument panel
Operation
The cruise control is switched on
manually: itrequires a minimum vehicle speed of 25 mph(40 km/h) and engagement of:
- fourth gear on the manual gearbox,
- second gear on the electronic gearbox
system or automatic gearbox, in sequential
drivin
g mode,
- position A
on the electronic gearbox
system or D on an automatic gearbox.
The cruise control is switched offmanuallyfor by pressing the brake or clutch pedal or
on triggering of the ESP system for safety reasons. It is possible to exceed the programmed speed
temporarily by pressing the accelerator pedal.
To return to the pro
grammed speed, simply release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any programmed speed value.

The function displays the following types of message: The function deselects itself automatically:
- when you engage reverse gear,
- when you switch off the ignition,
- if measuring is not requested,
- within five minutes of selection of thefunction,
- if the vehicle speed exceeds the
threshold of 45 mph
(approx. 70 km/h) for one minute.
If the lateral distance between
your vehicle and
the parking space is too large, the system may not be able to measure the space.
The s
ystem remains available after each
measurement and can therefore measure several spaces in succession.
In poor or wintry weather, ensure that the sensors are free of dir t, ice or snow.
The parking space sensor system deactivates
the front parking sensors when measuring forwards.

Checking levels
Check all of these levels regularly and top them up if necessary, unless other wise indicated.
If a level drops si
gnificantly, have the corresponding system checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.


Oil level
Engine oil change
Refer to the servicing booklet for the inter val for
this operation.
In order to maintain the reliabilit
y of the engine and emission control system, the use of additives in the engine oil is prohibited.
Oil specifi cation
The oil must correspond to your engineand conform to the manufacturer'srecommendations.



Brake fluid level


Changing the fl uid

Refer to the servicing booklet for the inter val for
this operation.

Fluid specifi cation

The brake fluid must conform to themanufacturer's recommendations and meet theDOT4 standard.
Th
e brake fluid level should be closeto the "MA X" mark. If it is not, check
the brake pad wear.
The reading will only be correct if the
vehicle is on level ground and the engine
has been off for more than 30 minutes. The check is carried out either when
the ignition is switched on using the oil levelindicator in the instrument panel, or using the dipstick.
When working under the bonnet, take care, as cer tain areas of the engine may be extremely hot (risk of burns).
It is normal to top up the oil level
between two services. CITROËN recommends that you check the oillevel, and top up if necessary, every 3 000 miles (5 000 kilometres).

Changing the coolant
The coolant does not have to be changed.


Coolant specifi cation

The coolant must conform to the
manufacturer's recommendations.

Coolant level
The coolant level should be close
to the "MA X" mark but should never exceed it. When the engine is warm, the
temperature of the coolant is regulated by the fan. This can operate with the ignition off.
On vehicles which are fitted with a par ticle
emission filter, the fan may operate after
the vehicle has been switched off, even if
the en
gine is cold.
In addition, as the cooling system is pressurised,
wait at least one hour after switching off the engine before carrying out any work.
To a v o i d a ny risk of scalding, unscrew the cap by two turns to allow the pressure to drop. When the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.
Power steering fluid level
The power steering fluid level should
be close to the "MA X" mark. Unscrew
the cap, with the engine cold, tocheck the level. To check the level or top up the
fluid on vehicle fitted with headlamp
washers
, immobilise the vehicle and switch of the engine.

Connect the white pipe to the valve of the
tyre to be repaired.

Repair procedure

Avoid removing any foreign bodieswhich have penetrated into the tyre.

Connect the compressor's electric plug to
the vehicle's 12 V socket.
) Star t the vehicle and leave the engine
running.
)Switch off the ignition. )Turn the selector A to the
"sealant" position. )Check that the switch B
is in position "O"

Take care, this product is harmful (e.g. ethylene-glycol, colophony...) if swallowed and causes irritation to theeyes.Keep it out of reach of children.

Removing a wheel
Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it does not block traffic: the ground must be level, stable and non-slippery ground. Apply the parking brake unless it hasbeen programmed to automatic mode, switch off the ignition and engage first gear * to lock the wheels.Check that the braking warning lamps in the instrument panel are on(not flashing). The occupants must get out of thevehicle and wait where they are safe.If necessary, place a chock under the wheel diagonally opposite the wheel tobe changed. Never go underneath a vehicle raisedusing a jack; use an axle stand.

Changing a fuse
The extraction tweezer is fitted to the back of
the dashboard fusebox cover.
For access to it: ) unclip the cover by pulling at the top right,
then left,
) disengage the cover completely and turn it
over,
Access to the tools
) remove carrier on which the tweezer isfitted.

Changing foglamp bulbs
These bulbs are replaced from outside the rear bumper:)pass your hand under the bumper, )turn the bulb holder a quar ter turn and remove it,)turn the bulb a quar ter turn, pull it out andfit a new bulb.
For reassembly, carry out these operations in
r
everse order.
Take care not to touch the silencer;there is a risk of burns if changing abulb within a few minutes of switchingoff the ignition.

Installing electricalaccessories

Your vehicle's electrical system isdesigned to operate with standard or optional equipment.
Before installing other electricalequipment or accessories on your vehicle, contact a CITROËN dealer or aqualified workshop.

CITROËN will not accept responsibilityfor the cost incurred in repairing your vehicle or for rectifying malfunctions resulting from the installation of accessories not supplied and notrecommended by CITROËN andnot installed in accordance with its instructions, in par ticular when thecombined consumption of all of the additional equipment connectedexceeds 10 milliamperes.

fore changing a fuse:)the cause of the failure must be identifiedand rectified, )all electrical consumers must be switched off, )the vehicle must be immobilised with theignition off,)identify the failed fuse using the tables andlayout drawings in the following pages.
Changing a fuse

The replacement of a fuse not shown in the tables below may cause a serious malfunction of your vehicle. Contacta CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Tweezer To replace a fuse, you must: )use the special tweezer to extract the fuse from its housing and check the condition of its filament,
)always replace the failed fuse with a fuse
of the same rating (same colour); using a
different rating could cause faults (risk
of fire).
If the fuse fails again soon after replacement,have the vehicle's electrical system checked bya CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

12 V battery
Procedure for starting the engine using another battery or for charging your flat battery.
The battery is located under the bonnet.
For access to the (+) terminal:
) Release the bonnet using the interior lever,
then the exterior safety catch, ) raise the bonnet and secure it with its stay, )
lift the plastic cover for access to the (+)
terminal.
Access to the battery

After refitting the battery, the Stop & Start system will only be active after acontinuous period of immobilisation of the vehicle, a period which depends on the climatic conditions and the state of charge of the battery (up to about 8 hours).
The presence of this label, in particular with the Stop & Star t system, indicatesthe use of a 12 V lead-acid battery withspecial technology and specification;
the involvement of a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop is essential when replacing or disconnecting the battery.

Check that the battery posts and terminals are clean. If they are coveredwith sulphate (white or green deposit), disconnect them and clean them.


Batteries contain harmful substancessuch as sulphuric acid and lead. Theymust be disposed of in accordancewith regulations and must not, in any circumstances, be discarded with household waste. Ta k e used cell batteries and vehiclebatteries to an authorised collection point.



Before doing any work
Immobilise the vehicle: apply theparking brake, put the gearbox inneutral *
, then switch off the ignition. Check that all electrical equipment is switched off.

First ensure that the slave battery has anominal voltage of 12 V and a capacityat least equal to that of the flat battery.
Do not try to star t the engine by connecting a battery charger.
Do not disconnect the (+) terminal when the engine is running.

Operate the star ter on the broken-down
vehicle and leave the engine running.

f the engine does not star t straight away, switch off the ignition and wait a few
moments before trying again.) With the engine idling, disconnect the jumpleads in reverse order.
)Position the open clamp Eof the cable on
the positive post (+) of the battery. )Press down on the clamp to position itcorrectly on the battery post. )Lock the clamp by lowering the lever D .
