Recommendations for ventilation and air conditioning
In order for these systems to be fully
effective, follow the operation and
maintenance guidelines below:
F
T
o ensure that the air is distributed
evenly, keep the external air intake
grilles at the base of the windscreen,
the nozzles, the vents, the air outlets
and the air extractor in the boot free
from obstructions.
F
D
o not cover the sunshine sensor,
located on the dashboard; this is used
for regulation of the automatic air
conditioning system.
F
O
perate the air conditioning system for
at least 5 to 10 minutes once or twice
a month to keep it in per fect working
o r d e r.
F
E
nsure that the passenger
compartment filter is in good condition
and replace the filter elements
periodically. We recommend the use of
a combined passenger compartment
filter. Thanks to its special active
additive, it helps both to purify the air
breathed by the occupants and to keep
the passenger compartment clean
(reduction of allergic symptoms, bad
odours and greasy deposits). F
T o ensure correct operation of the
air conditioning system, you are also
advised to have it checked regularly as
recommended in the Maintenance and
Warranty Guide.
F
I
f the system does not produce cold air,
switch it off and contact the dealer network
or a qualified workshop.
When towing the maximum load on a steep
gradient in high temperatures, switching off
the air conditioning increases the available
engine power and so improves the towing
ability.
To avoid the windows misting up and
deterioration in the quality of the air:
do not drive for too long with the ventilation
switched off.
Do not keep air recirculation set for an
extended period. If after an extended stop in sunshine, the
interior temperature is very high, first air
the passenger compartment for a few
moments.
Put the air flow control at a setting high
enough to quickly change the air in the
passenger compartment.
The condensation created by the air
conditioning results in a discharge of
water under the vehicle which is per fectly
normal.
Stop & Star t
The heating and air conditioning systems
only work when the engine is running.
To maintain a comfortable temperature
in the passenger compartment, you can
temporarily deactivate the Stop & Start
system.
For more information on Stop & Star t ,
refer to the corresponding section.

In case of towing
Driving with a trailer places greater
demands on the towing vehicle and
requires extra care from the driver.
Distribution of loads
F Distribute the load in the trailer so that the heaviest items are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight approaches
the maximum permitted without exceeding
it.
Air density decreases with altitude, thus
reducing engine performance. The maximum
towed load must be reduced by 10% for every
1,000 metres of altitude.
For more information on the Technical
data of your vehicle and particularly on
towable loads, refer to the corresponding
section.
If the exterior temperature is high, it is
recommended that the engine be allowed
to idle for 1 to 2 minutes after the vehicle
comes to a stop, to facilitate its cooling.
Side wind
F Take into account the increased sensitivity to wind.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases the
temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electrically controlled, its cooling
capacity is not dependent on the engine speed.
F
T
o lower the engine speed, reduce your
speed.
The maximum towed load on a long incline
depends on the gradient and the exterior
temperature.
In all cases, keep a check on the coolant
temperature.
F
I
f this warning lamp and the
STOP warning lamp come on,
stop the vehicle and switch off
the engine as soon as possible.
Braking
Towing a trailer increases the braking distance.
To avoid overheating of the brakes, the use of
engine braking is recommended.
Ty r e s
F Check the tyre pressures of the towing vehicle and of the trailer, observing the
recommended pressures.
Lighting
F Check the electrical lighting and signalling on the trailer and the headlamp beam height
of your vehicle.
For more information on Headlamp
adjustment , refer to the corresponding
section.
The rear parking sensors will be
deactivated automatically to avoid
the audible signal if a genuine DS
AUTOMOBILES towbar is used.

The parking brake can be applied/released
manually by pulling control lever .
If this warning lamp comes on in
the instrument panel, the automatic
mode is deactivated.
Do not place any object (packet of
cigarettes, telephone...) between the gear
lever and the electric parking brake control
l eve r.
Programming the mode
Depending on the country of sale of the vehicle,
the automatic application when the engine is
switched off and the automatic release when
you press the accelerator can be deactivated.
Activation/deactivation of the system
is done in the vehicle configuration
menu.
The parking brake is locked and unlocked
manually. When the driver’s door is opened, a
loud beep is heard and a message is displayed
if the parking brake has not been applied. It is recommended that you do not apply
the parking brake in very cold conditions
(ice) and during towing (breakdown,
caravan...). Deactivate the automatic
functions and release the parking brake
manually.

Use the cruise control only where the
driving conditions allow running at a
constant speed for a while and at an
adequate safe distance.
Do not activate the cruise control in urban
areas, in heavy traffic, on winding or steep
roads, on slippery or flooded roads, or in
conditions of poor visibility (heavy rain,
fog, falling snow etc.).
In some circumstances, it may not
be possible to maintain or reach the
programmed speed: towing, vehicle
heavily loaded, steep climb, etc.
The use of mats not approved by the
manufacturer may interfere with the
operation of the cruise control.
To avoid any risk of jamming of the pedals:
-
e
nsure that the mat is positioned
c o r r e c t l y,
-
n
ever place one mat on top of another.Lane departure warning
system
System which detects the involuntary crossing
of longitudinal traffic lane markings on the
ground (solid or broken line).
Sensors, fitted below the front bumper, trigger
a warning if the vehicle drifts over a lane
marking (speed higher than 50 mph (80 km/h)).
This system is particularly useful on motor ways
and main roads. The lane departure warning system
cannot, in any circumstances replace the
need for vigilance on the part of the driver.
It is necessary to obser ve the driving
regulations and take a break every two
hours.
Activation
F When switching on the ignition or with the engine running, press this button to activate
the system; the indicator lamp comes on.
Deactivation
F Press this button again, the indicator lamp goes off.
The status of the system remains in memory
when the ignition is switched off.
Detection
You are warned by the vibration of the driver's
seat cushion:
-
o
n the right-hand side, if the marking on the
road has been crossed on the right,
-
o
n the left-hand side, if the marking on the
road has been crossed on the left.
No warning is given while the direction indicator
is active and for approximately 20 seconds
after the direction indicator is switched off.
A warning may be transmitted if a direction
marking (arrow) or non-standard marking
(graffiti) is crossed.
Malfunction
In the event of a malfunction, the
Ser vice warning lamp comes on,
accompanied by an audible signal
and a message in the screen.
Contact the dealer network or a qualified
workshop.

F To deactivate the system, press this button again; the warning lamp goes off.
The status of the system remains in memory
when the ignition is switched off.
The system is automatically deactivated
when towing with a towbar approved by
DS AUTOMOBILES.
Malfunction
In the event of a fault, the warning lamp in the
button flashes then goes off.
Contact the dealer network or a qualified
workshop. The system may suffer temporary
interference in certain weather conditions
(rain, hail, etc.).
In particular, driving on a wet sur face
or moving from a dry area to a wet area
can cause false alerts (for example, the
presence of a fog of water droplets in
the blind spot angle is interpreted as a
vehicle).
In bad or wintry weather, ensure that the
sensors are not covered with mud, ice or
snow.
Take care not to cover the warning zone in
the door mirrors or the detection zones on
the front and rear bumpers with adhesive
labels or other objects; they may hamper
the correct operation of the system.
Parking sensors
This system cannot in any circumstances
replace the need for vigilance on the part
of the driver.
This system indicates the proximity of an
obstacle (person, vehicle, tree, gate, etc.)
entering the detection range of the sensors
located in the bumper.
Certain types of obstacle (post, roadworks
cone, etc.) detected initially will no longer
be detected at the end of the manoeuvre, if
they are located in blind spots in the sensors'
detection range.

To w b a r
Your vehicle is primarily designed for
transporting people and luggage, but it may
also be used for towing a trailer. We recommend the use of genuine
DS AUTOMOBILES towbars and their
harnesses that have been tested and
approved from the design stage of your
vehicle, and that the fitting of the towbar
is entrusted to a dealer or a qualified
workshop.
If the towbar is not fitted by a dealer, it
must still be fitted in accordance with the
vehicle manufacturer's instructions. Driving with a trailer places greater
demands on the towing vehicle and the
driver must take particular care.
For more information on Driving advice
,
particularly when towing, refer to the
corresponding section.
Obser ve the maximum authorised towable
weight, indicated on your vehicle's
registration certificate, the manufacturer's
label as well as in the Technical data
section of this guide.
Complying with the maximum
authorised nose weight (towball)
also includes the use of accessories
(bicycle carriers, tow boxes, etc.).
The maximum authorised nose weight
does not depend on the type of device
installed, fixed or removable, with or
without a tool.
