Locking the vehicle

Deactivate the interior volumetric and anti-liftmonitoring to avoid unwanted triggering of thealarm in certain cases such as:
- leaving a window par tially open,
- washing your vehicle,
- changing a wheel,
- having your vehicle towed,
- transportation by sea.

system, rapid flashing of the indicator lamp in the button informs you that the alarm
was triggered during your absence. When

immediately.



Failure of the remote control

To deactivate the monitoring functions:
)Unlock the vehicle using the key (integral with
the remote control) in the driver's door lock. )Open the door; the alarm is triggered.)Switch on the ignition; the alarm stops. The

Automatic activation *



2 minutes after the last door or the boot isclosed, the system is activated automatically. )To avoid triggering the alarm on entering
the vehicle, first press the unlocking buttonon the remote control or unlock the vehicleusing the Keyless Entry and Starting system.

The incorrect installation of a child seat in a
vehicle compromises the child's protection in the event of an accident. Ensure that there is no seat belt or seat beltbuckle under the child seat, as this coulddestabilise it.
Remember to fasten the seat belts or the child seat harnesses keeping the slack relative to the child's body to a minimum, even for shor t journeys.
When installing a child seat using the seat belt, ensure that the seat belt is tightenedcorrectly on the child seat and that it secures the child seat firmly on the seat of your vehicle. If your passenger seat is adjustable, move it for wards if necessary. At rear seating positions, always leavesufficient space between the front seat and:


- a "rear wards facing" child seat,

- the child's feet for a child seat fitted"forwards facing".

Installing a booster seat
The chest par t of the seat belt must bepositioned on the child's shoulder without touching the neck.Ensure that the lap part of the seat belt
passes correctly over the child's thighs.CITROËN recommends the use of a booster seat which has a back, fitted with a seat beltguide at shoulder level.
As a safety precaution, do not leave: - a child or children alone and unsupervised in a vehicle, - a child or an animal in a vehicle whichis exposed to the sun, with the windows closed, - the keys within reach of children inside the vehicle. To prevent accidental opening of the doors and rear windows, use the "Child lock". Take care not to open the rear windows bymore than one third.To protect young children from the rays of the sun, fit side blinds on the rear windows.

To do this, move the front seat for wards
and, if necessary, move its backrest into the upright position.
For optimum installation of the "forwards-facing" child seat, ensure that the back of thechild seat is in contact with the back of the vehicle's seat and remove the head restraint.
Ensure that the head restraint is stored or attached securely to prevent it from being thrown around the vehicle in the event of sharp braking. Refit it if an adult uses the seating position. Children under the age of 10 must not travel in the "forwards-facing" position on the front passenger seat, unless the rear seats are already occupied by other children, cannot be used or are absent.
Deactivate the passenger airbag when a "rearwards-facing" child seat is installed on the front seat. Other wise, the child would risk beingseriously injured or killed if the airbag were to inflate.

)Lower the lighting control stalk fully when moving to the left.)Raise the lighting control stalk fully when moving to the right.
"Motorway" function
Move the stalk briefly upwards or downwards,
without going beyond the point of resistance;
the corresponding direction indicators will flash 3 times.


If you forget to cancel the directionindicators for more than twenty seconds, the volume of the audible signal will increase if the speed is above40 mph (60 km/h).

Electronic stability programme (ESC)
Definitions
Anti-lock braking system (ABS)and electronic brake force
distribution (EBFD)
This system improves the stability and
manoeuvrability of your vehicle when braking and provides improved control in corners, in par ticular on poor or slippery road surfaces.
The ABS prevents wheel lock in the event of
emergency braking.
The electronic brake force distribution system
manages the braking pressure wheel by wheel.
Emergency braking assistance
In an emergency, this system enables you to reach the optimum braking pressure more quickly and therefore reduce the stopping distance. It is triggered in relation to the speed at which
the brake pedal is pressed. This is felt by a reduction in the resistance of the pedal and an increase in the effectiveness of the braking.

Anti-slip regulation (ASR)

The ASR system (also known as Traction Control) optimises traction in order to avoid
wheel slip b
y acting on the brakes of the drivingwheels and on the engine. It also improves
the directional stability of the vehicle onacceleration.


Dynamic stability control (DSC)

If there is a difference between the path followed by the vehicle and that required bythe driver, the DSC monitors each wheel and
automatically acts on the brake of one or more
wheels and on the engine to return the vehicle
to the required path, within the limits of the laws of physics.

Intelligent traction control
s
ystem ("Snow motion")
Your vehicle has a system to help driving onsnow: intelligent traction control.This system detects situations of difficult surface adhesion that could make it difficult to move off or make progress on deep fresh snow
or compacted snow.In these situations, the intelligent traction control
limits the amount of wheel slip to provide the best traction and trajectory control
for your vehicle.
In extremely severe conditions (deep snow,mud, ...), when it proves impossible to move off,
it may be useful to temporarily deactivate theESP/ASR systems to allow the wheels to spinfreely and so allow movement of the vehicle.

In emergency braking, press very firmly without releasing the pressure.

When changing wheels (tyres and rims),make sure that these are approved for your vehicle.
Normal operation of the ABS may make itself felt by slight vibrations of the brake pedal. When this warnin

there is a fault with the ABS, which
could cause loss of control of the vehicle whenbraking.

The use of snow tyres is strongly
recommended on sur faces offering low levels of adhesion.
