Electric parking brake
fixed. The electric parking brake is applied. Release the electric parking brake to switch off the
warning lamp: with your foot on the brake pedal, brieflypush the electric parking brake control lever.
Obser ve the safety recommendations.
For more information on the electric parking brake,
refer to the corresponding section.
Diesel engine pre-heating
fixed. The "START/STOP" switch has been pressed (ignition on). Wait until the warning lamp goes off before star ting.
Once it goes off, star ting is immediate, on condition
that you maintain pressure on the brake pedal for anelectronic or automatic gearbox, or the clutch pedal is pressed fully down for a manual gearbox.
The period of illumination of the warning lamp is
determined by the ambient conditions (up to about
thirty seconds in extreme conditions).
If the engine does not star t, switch the ignition off and
then on, wait until the warning lamp goes off again,
then start the engine.
Blind spotsensors fixed. The blind spot monitoring function has been activated. For more information, refer to the correspondingsection.

Adjust the mirror so that the glass is
directed correctly in the "day" position.
As a safety measure, the mirrors should be adjusted to reduce the "blind spot".
In order to ensure optimum visibilityduring your manoeuvres, the mirror lightens automatically when reversegear is engaged.

Push the lever to change to the normal "day" position.
Automatic day/night model
By means of a sensor, which measures the
light from the rear of the vehicle, this system
automatically and progressively changes
between the day and night uses.
Automatic tilting in reverse gear
With the engine running, on engaging reversegear, the mirror glasses tilt downwards.
They return to their initial position:
-a few seconds after coming out of reverse gear, - once the speed of the vehicle exceeds6 mph (10 km/h),
- on switching off the engine.

Driving
Hill start assist
System which keeps your vehicle immobilised
temporarily (approximately 2 seconds) whenstarting on a gradient, the time it takes to
move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal. This system only operates when:
- the vehicle is completely stationary, withyour foot on the brake pedal,
- cer tain conditions of slope are met,
- with the driver’s door closed.
The hill star t assist system cannot be deactivated.
On an ascendin
g slope, with the vehiclestationary, the vehicle is held for amomentarily when you release the brakepedal:
- provided you are in first gear or neutral on
a manual gearbox,
- provided you are in position A
or M
on an electronic gearbox, Dor Mon an automatic gearbox.
Operation
On a descending slope, with the vehicle
stationary and reverse gear engaged, thevehicle is held momentarily when yourelease the brake pedal.
Operating fault
If a fault in the system occurs, these warning lamps come on, accompanied by an alert message. Contact a CITROËN dealer or
a qualified workshop to have the systemchecked.
Do not exit the vehicle while it is beingheld in the hill star t assist phase.
If you need to exit the vehicle withthe engine running, apply the parkingbrake manually then ensure that theparking brake warning lamp (and the warning lamp P
in the lever of theelectric parking brake) are on fixed (not flashing).

Stop & Start
Operation
Going into engine STOP mode
The "ECO"
warning lamp comes onin the instrument panel and the enginegoes into standby automatically:
-with a manual gearbox
, at speeds below
12 mph (20 km/h), when you place the gear lever in neutral, and you release the clutch pedal, - with an electronic gearbox,at speeds
below 5 mph (8 km/h), when you press the
brake pedal or place the gear selector lever in position N ,
- with an automatic gearbox,
with the
vehicle stationary, when you press the brake pedal or place the gear selector lever in position N.If your vehicle is fitted with the system, a timecounter calculates the sum of the periods in STOP mode during a journey. It resets itself to
zero every time the ignition is switched on with
the STA R T/STOP button.
Never refuel with the engine in STOPmode; you must switch off the ignition with the STA R T/STOP button.
For your comfor t, during parkingmanoeuvres, STOP mode is not available for a few seconds after coming out of reverse gear.STOP mode does not affect the functionality of the vehicle, such as for example, braking, power steering...
Special cases: STOP mode not
available
STOP mode is not invoked when:
- the driver's door is open,
- the driver's seat belt is not fastened,
- the vehicle has not exceeded
6 mph(10 km/h) since the last engine start usingthe START/STOP button,
- the electric parking brake is applied or being applied,
- the engine is needed to maintain acomfor table temperature in the passenger compartment,
- demistin
g is active,
- some special conditions (battery charge, engine temperature, braking assistance, ambient temperature...) where the engine isneeded to assure control of a system.
In this case, the "ECO"
warning lampflashes for a few seconds then goesoff. This operation is per fectly normal.
The Stop & Star t system puts the engine temporarily into standby - STOP mode - during stops in the traffic (red lights, traffic jams, or other...). The engine restar ts automatically - START mode - as soon as you want to move off. The restart takes place instantly, quickly and silently.
Per fect for urban use, the Stop & Star t system reduces fuel consumption and exhaust emissions as well as the noise level when stationary.

Driving
Going into engine START mode
The "ECO"warning lamp goes off and the engine starts automatically:
-with a manual gearbox
, when you fullydepress the clutch pedal,
-
with an electronic gearbox
:
●
gear selector lever in position Aor M
,
when you release the brake pedal,
●
or gear selector lever in position Nand the brake pedal released, when you place the gear selector lever inposition A
or M,●
or when you engage reverse gear.
-
with an automatic gearbox:
●
gear selector in position Dor M
, whenyou release the brake pedal,
●
or gear selector in position N
and brakepedal released, when you place the gear selector in position D
or M,●
or when you engage reverse.
START mode is invoked automatically when:
- you open the the driver's door,
- you unfasten the driver's seat belt,
- the speed of the vehicle exceeds 15 mph (25 km/h) with a manual gearbox, 7 mph(11 k m / h) with an electronic gearbox and
2 mph (3 km/h) with an automatic gearbox,
- the electric parking brake is being applied,
- some special conditions (battery charge, engine temperature, braking assistance,
ambient temperature...) where the engine is
needed for control of a system.
Special cases: START invoked automatically
If the system has been deactivatedin STOP mode, the engine restar ts immediately. Deactivation o
f Stop & Star t is done in the
"Driving assistance" menu.
Deactivation
In this case the "ECO"
warning lampflashes for a few seconds, then goes off.
This operation is per fectly normal.
Press this button to deactivate thesystem.
This is con
firmed by the indicator lamp in the button and this symbol.
When driving on a flooded road, it isrecommended that the Stop & Star tfunction be deactivated and that you drive very slowly.

Driving
This system indicates the proximity of an
obstacle (person, vehicle, tree, gate, etc.) which comes within the field of detection of sensorslocated in the bumper.
Certain types of obstacle (stake, roadworkscone, etc.) detected initially will no longer bedetected at the end of the manoeuvre due to
the presence of blind spots.
Parking sensors
This function cannot, in any circumstances, take the place of the vigilance and responsibility of the driver. The system is switched on by engaging reverse
gear. This is accompanied by an audible signal.
The system is switched off when you exit reverse gear.
Audible assistance
The proximity information is given by anintermittent audible signal, the frequency of whichincreases as the vehicle approaches the obstacle.
The sound emitted by the speaker (right or left)indicates the side on which the obstacle is located.
When the distance between the vehicle andthe obstacle becomes less than approximately
thirty centimetres, the audible signal becomescontinuous.
Rear parking sensors
Visual assistance
This supplements the audible signal bydisplaying bars in the screen or the instrument
panel which move progressively nearer to
the vehicle. When the obstacle is near, the"Danger" symbol is displayed.
