LOCKING THE DOORS
Manual locking
Front: use the key if outside or, if inside,
press down knob 1 when the door is closed.
Rear: press down button 1 in each door.
Electric central locking
Depending on the vehicle, this is used to simultaneously lock the four doors and luggage compartment.
Press the bottom of switch
2 to lock.
The front door mechanism cannot be locked if the door is open.
Childproof locks
To make it impossible for the rear doors to be opened from the inside, move
lever 3 on each door and check from the inside that the doors are securely locked.
If you decide to keep the doors locked when you are driving, remember that it may be more difficult for those assisting you to gain access to the passenger compartment in the event of an emergency.

You must first decide if you want to activate this function.
To activate
Depending on the vehicle, with the ignition on or the engine running, press and hold central door locking but-
ton 1 for approximately 5 seconds, until you hear a beep.
To deactivate
Depending on the vehicle, with the ignition on or the engine running, press and hold central door locking but-
ton 1 for approximately 5 seconds, until you hear a beep.
Operating principle
When the vehicle is started, the system automatically locks the doors as soon as a speed of 4 mph (7 km/h) is reached.
The door can be unlocked:
– by pressing the door unlocking but
-
ton 1.
– by opening a front door (vehicle sta
- tionary).
Note: if a door is opened, it will auto- matically lock again when the vehicle reaches approximately 4 mph (7 km/h).
Operating faults
If you notice an operating fault (no au- tomatic locking) first check that all of the doors and tailgate are closed. If they are properly closed, contact an ap- proved Dealer.
AUTOMATIC LOCKING wHEN DRIvING
If you decide to keep the doors locked when you are driving, remember that it may be more difficult for those assisting you to gain access to the passenger compartment in
