The E.C.U. decoder has the following functions :
- deco ding the signal received from the anti starting
bushing; - send ing a code to the injection computer in order to
author ise the engine starting;
- c ontrolling the anti starting indic ator of the instrument
panel;
receiv ing the coded signal from the anti starting bearings,
for the vehicles equipped with RF remote control;
REMA RK :
In case both keys were lost, the code of the key head (8 characters) and the code of the
me tal insertion (4 characters) can be red from the vehicle-purchasing invoice. If also the
invoice was lost, the two mentioned codes can be found out based on the chassis s eries of that
vehicl e, acces sing the database of the DA C IA manufacture r, callin g the “C lient Voice”
department (phone 0248 500 000).
E.C.U. DECODER
General
- commandi ng the blocking/unlocking of the doors, if the vehicle is provided with RF remote
c ontrol keys;
- co mma nding the ceiling delayed light, for vehicles equipped with this system.
Th
e an ti starting bushing is located around the starting contact and is accessible after the
d ismounting the steering wheel’s half-cases. It catches the signal from the key head and then sends
a coded signal to the E.C.U. decoder.
The ve hicles equipped with RF remote control keys for blocking/ unlocking the doors are provided
with another anti starting bushing which transmits to the E.C.U. decoder also the signal received
from the RF remo te control.
Th e recognition of the two types of decoding bushings is performed by means of codes labelled
on their body, as follows : - code 04 2264J - for vehicles without RF remote control;
- code 8200 044257 - for vehicles with RF remote control. ANTI S TARTING BUSHING

Procedures
RE M ARK:
For the RF remote control synchronisation, after the replacement of an E.C.U. decoder,
the sync hron is ation proced ure must be per formed taking i nto account the foll owing
situations : - fo r one RF remote control, perform the “ SIMPLE SYNCHRONISED
PROCED URE ”;
- for the second RF remote co ntrol per form the “SPE CI FI C SYNCHRONI SED
PROCED URE ”.
B. KIT REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
(E.C.U. decoder plus 2 key he ads)
In case of one kit replacement perform the following steps:
- memorising the anti starting code by the E.C.U. decoder;
- memorising of the new anti starting code by the injection computer; it is necessary the
repairing code (found out based on the old ke y heads code) and t he CLIP tester.
Perform the actions in the following sequence:
1. Mount the metal insertions of the old keys to the new key heads.
2. Inform by phone at ”Client Voice” (phone no 0248 500 000), the vehicle chassis series and
the key heads code, written on the vehicle invoice, in order to get the repairing code.
3. Connect the CLIP tester t o the diagnostic socket and to the battery (or to the lighter
s ocket) of the vehicle. Read the configuration of the old E.C.U. decoder before dismounting it
off the vehicle, as follows:
- select vehicle type “B41”;
- enter the menu “ COMPUTER TEST” then select “ ANTI STARTING”;
- access “COMMAND MODE” then “READ CONFIGURATIONS”;
- note the configuration s : petrol/diesel, programming with 1 or 2 keys, ceiling delayed light,
the type of the doors’ blocking switch (CPE), etc.
4. Return to the menu “ANTI START ING”.
5. Dismount the old E.C.U. decoder and replace it with a new one, the contact being off.
6. Check the configuration of the new E.C.U. decoder selecting “ STAT E LIST”; here you
must find the following states: 18G FIRST KEY MEMORISING……………………………........… PASSIVE
19G NOT PERFORMED KEY PROGRAMMING ………………..... ACTIVE
19D UNBLOCKED KEY PROGRAMMING ……………………..... ACTIVE
REMARK:
If the state 19G and 19D are not “ACTIVE” this means the E.C.U. decoder isn’t a
ne w one and cannot memorise another anti starting code.
