HANDS-FREE COMMUNICATION (UConnect)—
IF EQUIPPED
NOTE:The sales code RER, REN and REU radios contain
an integrated Hands-Free Communication (UConnect)
system. Refer to your “Navigation User’s Manual” for
UConnectsystem operating instructions for these radios.
UConnectis a voice-activated, hands-free, in-vehicle com-
munications system. UConnectallows you to dial a phone
number with your cellular phone using simple voice
commands (e.g.,Call”“Mike””WorkorDial”
“248-555-1212). Your cellular phone’s audio is transmitted
through your vehicle’s audio system; the system will
automatically mute your radio when using the UConnect
system.
NOTE:The UConnectsystem requires a cellular phone
equipped with the BluetoothHands-Free Profile,Ve r -
sion 0.96 or higher. See the UConnectwebsite for

UConnectallows you to transfer calls between the
system and your cellular phone as you enter or exit your
vehicle and enables you to mute the system’s microphone
for private conversation.
The UConnectphonebook enables you to store up to 32
names, with four numbers per name. Each language has
a separate 32-name phonebook accessible only in that
language. This system is driven through your Bluetooth
“Hands-Free profile” cellular phone. UConnectfeatures
Bluetoothtechnology - the global standard that enables

(EVIC)
The Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) fea-
tures a driver-interactive display. It is located in the
instrument cluster below the speedometer. Vehiclesequipped with steering wheel-mounted buttons (de-
scribed in this section) are also equipped with the EVIC.
The EVIC consists of the following:

The system allows the driver to select information by
pressing the following buttons mounted on the steering
wheel.
MENU Button
Press and release the MENU button and the
mode displayed will change between Trip
Functions, Performance Pages, Navigation (If
Equipped), System Warnings, System Status,
Personal Settings, Telephone (If Equipped), and Sur-
round Sound (If Equipped).
FUNCTION SELECT Button
Press the FUNCTION SELECT button to accept
a selection. The FUNCTION SELECT buttonalso functions as a remote sound system control. Refer to
“Remote Sound System Controls” in this section.
SCROLL Button
Press the SCROLL button to scroll through Trip
Functions, Performance Pages, Navigation (If
Equipped), System Status Messages, and Per-
sonal Settings (Customer Programmable Fea-
tures). The SCROLL button also functions as a remote
sound system control. Refer to “Remote Sound System
Controls” in this section.
AUDIO MODE Button
Press the AUDIO MODE button to select the
Compass/Temp/Audio screen. Along with
compass reading and outside temperature, this
screen will display radio and media mode
information depending on which radio is in the vehicle.

Personal Settings (Customer Programmable
Features)
Personal Settings allows the driver to set and recall
features when the transmission is in PARK.
Press and release the MENU button until Personal Set-
tings displays in the EVIC.
Use the SCROLL button to display one of the following
choices.
Language
When in this display you may select one of three languages
for all display nomenclature, including the trip functions
and the navigation system (if equipped). Press the FUNC-
TION SELECT button while in this display to select En-
glish, Espanol, or Francais. Then, as you continue, the
information will display in the selected language.
NOTE:The EVIC will not change the UConnectlan-
guage selection. Refer to “Language Selection” under
“Hands-Free Communication (UConnect)” in Section 3.
Lock Doors Automatically at 15 mph (24 km/h)
When ON is selected, both doors will lock automatically
when the vehicle reaches a speed of 15 mph (24 km/h).
To make your selection, press and release the FUNC-
TION SELECT button until “ON” or “OFF” appears.
Unlock Doors Automatically on Exit
When ON is selected, both doors will unlock when the
vehicle is stopped and the transmission is in the PARK or
NEUTRAL position and the driver’s door is opened. To
make your selection, press and release the FUNCTION
SELECT button until “ON” or “OFF” appears.
Remote Key Unlock
WhenDriver Door 1st Pressis selected, only the driver’s
door will unlock on the first press of the Remote Keyless
Entry (RKE) UNLOCK button. When Driver Door 1st
Press is selected, you must press the RKE UNLOCK
button twice to unlock the passenger door. WhenAll
Doors 1st Pressis selected, both of the doors will unlock

Turn Headlights On with Remote Key Unlock
When this feature is selected, the headlights will activate
and remain on for up to 90 seconds when the doors are
unlocked with the RKE transmitter. To make your selec-
tion, press and release the FUNCTION SELECT button
until “OFF,” “30 sec.,” “60 sec.,” or “90 sec.” appears.
Delay Power Off to Accessories Until Exit
When this feature is selected, the power window
switches, radio, hands-free system (if equipped), power
sunroof (if equipped), and ignition-powered power out-
lets will remain active for up to 60 minutes after the
ignition switch is turned OFF. Opening a vehicle door
will cancel this feature. To make your selection, press and
release the FUNCTION SELECT button until “Off,” “45
sec.,” “5 min.,” “10 min.,” “30 min.,” or “60 min.”
appears.
Turn-by-Turn Navigation — If Equipped
When ON is selected, the Turn-by-Turn directions will
appear in the display as the vehicle approaches a desig-
nated turn within a programmed route. To make your
selection, press and release the FUNCTION SELECT
button until “ON” or “OFF” appears.
Display Units of Measure In
The EVIC, odometer, and navigation system (if
equipped) can be changed between English and Metric
units of measure. To make your selection, press and
release the FUNCTION SELECT button until “US” or
“METRIC” appears.

NOTE:If your vehicle is not equipped with UConnect,
the unit will respond with a “Not Equipped With
UConnect” message when selecting controls related to
this feature.
A 6.5 in (16.5 cm) touch screen allows easy menu selec-
tion, while the Advanced Voice Dialog System recognizes
more than 1,000 words for audio, navigation, entertain-
ment, and hands-free mobile phone use.
The satellite navigation capability combines a Global-
Positioning System (GPS)-based navigation system with
an integrated color screen to provide maps, turn identi-
fication, selection menus, and instructions for selecting a
variety of destinations and routes.
A shared HDD for the navigation system, the database,
and other radio features allows uploads of music and
photos from CDs or through the USB port. The Gracenote
database finds the artist, track, and title for the music.Other special features include direct tune, music type
selections, traffic messaging (optional), easy store presets,
backup camera display for vehicles equipped with a
backup camera, and on some models, a dual display
screen operation. Refer to your “Navigation User’s
