Illuminated Vanity Mirrors Ð If Equipped
An illuminated vanity mirror is on the sun visor. To use
the mirror, rotate the sun visor downward and swing the
mirror cover upward. The light turns on automatically.
Closing the mirror cover turns off the lights.
HANDS±FREE COMMUNICATION (UConnectŸ) Ð
IF EQUIPPED
NOTE: The sales code RER radio contains an inte-
grated Hands-Free Communication (UConnectŸ) sys-
tem. Refer to your ªNavigation User's Manualº for
UConnectŸ system operating instructions for this ra-
dio.
UConnectŸ is a voice-activated, hands-free, in- vehicle
communications system. UConnectŸ allows you to dial
a phone number with your cellular phone using simple
voice commands (e.g.,9Callº{ªMikeº{ºWork9or9Dialº
{ª248-555-12129). Your cellular phone's audio is trans-
mitted through your vehicle's audio system; the system
will automatically mute your radio when using the
UConnectŸ system.

STORAGE
Console Features
The center console contains two shift bezel cubby bins
with rubber mats for holding small items. For vehicles
not equipped with navigation radio, the console also
contains an extra storage bin located below the climate
control, which holds up to four CD jewel cases.
Without Vehicle Entertainment System (VES)
Two separate storage compartments are also located
underneath the armrest.

(EVIC) ± IF EQUIPPED
The Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) fea-
tures a driver-interactive display. It is located in the
instrument cluster below the speedometer. Vehiclesequipped with steering wheel mounted buttons (de-
scribed in this section) are also equipped with the EVIC.
The EVIC consists of the following:

The system allows the driver to select information by
pressing the following buttons mounted on the steering
wheel:
Press and release the MENU button and the
mode displayed will change between Trip
Functions, Navigation (if equipped), System
Status, Personal Settings, and Telephone (if
equipped).
Press the FUNCTION SELECT button to accept
a selection. The FUNCTION SELECT button
also functions as a remote sound system con-
trol. For details, refer to ªRemote Sound Sys-
tem Controlsº in this section.Press the SCROLL button to scroll through Trip
Functions, Navigation (if equipped), System
Status Messages, and Personal Settings (Cus-
tomer Programmable Features). The SCROLL
button also functions as a remote sound system

System Controlsº in this section.
Press the AUDIO MODE button to select the
Compass/Temp/Audio screen. Along with
compass reading and outside temperature, this
screen will display radio and media mode
information depending on which radio is in the
vehicle. For details, refer to ªRemote Sound
System Controlsº in this section.

Press and release the MENU button until Navigation
displays in the EVIC. When the Navigation System is On,
the steering wheel buttons can be used to select the Map

display is active, the SCROLL button can be used to scroll
through the list, the FUNCTION SELECT button can be
used to select an item, and the AUDIO MODE button can
be used to return to the previous menu. When the Map
display is active, pressing the FUNCTION SELECT but-
ton will change the Navigation Unit Display to the Menu.
Turn By Turn Directions
The EVIC displays turn-by-turn directions to a pro-
grammed destination when Turn by Turn Navigation is
enabled through Personal Settings. When enabled, the
EVIC displays the name of the approaching road at the
top of the screen, followed by an arrow to indicate the
direction to turn the vehicle, and a count down to
indicate the distance to the turn.

Personal Settings (Customer Programmable
Features)
Personal Settings allows the driver to set and recall
features when the transmission is in PARK.
Press and release the MENU button until Personal Set-
tings displays in the EVIC.
Use the SCROLL button to display one of the following
choices:
ªLanguageº
When in this display you may select one of five lan-
guages for all display nomenclature, including the trip
functions and the navigation system (if equipped). Press
the FUNCTION SELECT button while in this display to
select English, Espanol, Deutsch, Italiano, or Francais.
Then, as you continue, the information will display in the
selected language.

ªDelay Power Off to Accessories Until Exitº
When this feature is selected, the power window
switches, radio, hands±free system (if equipped), DVD
video system (if equipped), power sunroof (if equipped),
and power outlets will remain active for up to 60 minutes
after the ignition switch is turned off. Opening a vehicle
door will cancel this feature. To make your selection,
press and release the FUNCTION SELECT button until
ªOff,º ª45 sec.,º ª5 min.,º ª10 min.,º ª30 min.,º or ª60
min.º appears.
ªConfirmation of Voice Commandsº Ð If
Equipped
When ON is selected, all voice commands from the
UConnectŸ system are confirmed. To make your selec-
tion, press and release the FUNCTION SELECT button
until ªONº or ªOFFº appears.
ªTurn by Turn Navigationº Ð If Equipped
When ON is selected, the Turn-by-Turn directions will
appear in the display as the vehicle approaches a desig-
nated turn within a programmed route. To make your
selection, press and release the FUNCTION SELECT
button until ªONº or ªOFFº appears.
ªDisplay Units of Measure inº
The EVIC, odometer, and navigation system (if
equipped) can be changed between English and Metric
units of measure. To make your selection, press and
release the FUNCTION SELECT button until ªUSº or
ªMETRICº appears.

NOTE:If your vehicle is not equipped with UConnectt,
the unit will respond with a ªFeature Not Availableº
message when selecting controls related to this feature.
A 6.5-inch touch screen allows easy menu selection, while
the Advanced Voice Dialog System recognizes more than
1,000 words for audio, navigation, entertainment, and
hands-free mobile phone use.
The satellite navigation capability combines a Global-
Positioning System-based navigation system with an
integrated color screen to provide maps, turn identifica-
tion, selection menus, and instructions for selecting a
variety of destinations and routes.
A shared Hard Drive (HDD) for the navigation system,
the database, and other radio features allows uploads ofmusic and photos from CDs or through the USB port.
While the Gracenote database finds the artist, track, and
title for the music.
An auxiliary input jack permits passengers to listen to a
portable MP3 player through the vehicle's speakers. For
vehicles equipped with the Vehicle Entertainment System
(VES), separate audio outputs allow passengers to listen
to the car speakers while different audio tracks play
through the system's wireless headphones. This means
rear seat passengers can watch a DVD on the optional
rear-seat entertainment system while the driver and front
seat passenger listen to the radio.
Other special features include direct tune, music type
selections, Traffic Messaging (optional), easy store pre-
sets, parental lockout for VES (if equipped), backup
camera display for vehicles equipped with a backup

camera, and on some models a dual display screen

Clock Setting Procedure
The GPS receiver in this system is synchronized to the
time data being transmitted by the GPS satellites. The
satellites' clock is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). This is
the worldwide standard for time. This makes the sys-
tem's clock very accurate once the appropriate time zone
and daylight savings information is set.
Changing the Time Zone
1. Turn on the system.
2. Touch the screen where the time is displayed. The
clock setting menu will appear on the screen. If the words
ªTime: GPS Timeº are displayed at the top of the screen,
proceed to Step 4. Otherwise, proceed to Step 3.
3. If the words ªTime: User Clockº are displayed at the
top of the screen, touch the bottom of the screen where
the words ªUser Clockº are displayed. The GPS time
setting menu will appear on the screen.
4. Touch the screen where the words ªSet Time Zoneº are
displayed. The time zone selection menu will appear on
the screen.
5. Select a time zone by touching the screen where your
selection appears. If you do not see a time zone that you
want to select, touch the screen where the word ªPageº is
displayed to view additional time zones in the menu.
