REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY
This system allows you to lock or unlock the doors, open
the trunk, or activate the panic alarm from distances up
to about 23 feet (7 meters) using a hand held radio
transmitter. The transmitter need not be pointed at the
vehicle to activate the system.
NOTE:Inserting the key into the ignition switch dis-
ables all buttons on that transmitter; however, the but-
tons on the remaining transmitters will continue to work.
Shifting the vehicle out of PARK disables all transmitter
buttons for all keys.
To unlock the doors:
Press and release the UNLOCK button on the transmitter
once to unlock the driver's door, or twice to unlock all
doors. The turn signal lights will flash to acknowledge
the unlock signal. The illuminated entry system will also
turn on.
Remote Key Unlock, Driver Door/All Doors First
This feature lets you program the system to unlock either
the driver's door or all doors on the first press of the
UNLOCK button on the transmitter. For details on how
to change the current setting, refer to ªRemote Key
Unlock,º under ªPersonal Settings (Customer Program-
mable Features),º under ªElectronic Vehicle Information
Center (EVIC)º in Section 4 of this manual.
Flash Lights with Remote Key Lock
This feature will cause the turn signal lights to flash when
the doors are locked or unlocked with the transmitter.
This feature can be enabled or disabled. For details on
how to change the current setting, refer to ªFlash Lights

²You may need to be less than 23 feet (7 meters) from
the vehicle when using the transmitter to turn off the
panic alarm due to the radio frequency noises emitted
by the system.
Programming Additional Transmitters
Refer to SENTRY KEY ªCustomer Key Programming.º
(See page 14 for more information.)
If you do not have a programmed transmitter, contact
your dealer for details.
Battery Replacement
The recommended replacement battery is CR2032.
NOTE:Do not touch the battery terminals that are on
the back housing or the printed circuit board.
1. With the transmitter buttons facing downward, re-
move the small screw (if equipped).
2. Separate the two halves of the transmitter with a flat
blade tool. Do not damage the rubber seal during re-
moval.3. Remove and replace the battery. Avoid touching the
new battery with your fingers. Skin oils may cause
battery deterioration. If you touch a battery, clean it with
rubbing alcohol.
4. To assemble the transmitter case, snap the two halves
together. If so equipped, install and tighten the screw
until snug. Make sure there is an even ªgapº between the
two halves.
5. Test the transmitter operation.

HANDS±FREE COMMUNICATION (UConnectŸ) Ð
IF EQUIPPED
UConnectŸ is a voice-activated, hands-free, in- vehicle
communications system. UConnectŸ allows you to dial
a phone number with your cellular phone using simple
voice commands (e.g.,9Callº{ªMikeº{ºWork9or9Dialº
{ª248-555-12129). Your cellular phone's audio is trans-
mitted through your vehicle's audio system; the system
will automatically mute your radio when using the
UConnectŸ system.
NOTE:The UConnectŸ system use requires a cellular
phone equipped with the Bluetooth9Hands-Free Profile,9
version 0.96 or higher. See www.chrysler.com/uconnect
for supported phones.
UConnectŸ allows you to transfer calls between the
system and your cellular phone as you enter or exit your
vehicle, and enables you to mute the system's micro-
phone for private conversation.
The UConnectŸ phonebook enables you to store up to 32
names and four numbers per name. Each language has a
separate 32-name phonebook accessible only in that
language. This system is driven through your Blue-
toothŸ Hands-Free profile cellular phone. UConnectŸ
features BluetoothŸ technology - the global standardthat enables different electronic devices to connect to
each other without wires or a docking station, so UCon-
nect works no matter where you stow your cellular
phone (be it your purse, pocket, or briefcase), as long as
your phone is turned on and has been paired to the
vehicle's UConnectŸ system. The UConnectŸ system
allows up to seven cellular phones to be linked to system.
Only one linked (or paired) cellular phone can be used
with the system at a time. The system is available in
English, Spanish, or French languages (as equipped).
The rearview mirror contains the microphone for the
system and the control buttons that will enable you to
access the system.

Programming HomeLink
NOTE:
When programming a garage door opener, it is
advised to park outside the garage. It is also recom-
mended that you install a new battery in the hand-held
transmitter of the device being programmed. This will
allow for quicker training and accurate transmission of
the radio-frequency signal.
The Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) fea-
tures a driver-interactive display, which includes
HomeLink system messages. The EVIC is located in the
instrument cluster below the speedometer.
1. Press and hold the two outer HomeLink buttons.
Release the buttons only when the EVIC displays ªChan-
nels Clearedº (after 20 seconds); however,do nothold
the buttons for longer than 30 seconds.Do notrepeat this
step if programming a second or third hand-held trans-
mitter to the remaining HomeLink buttons.

2. Position the end of your hand-held transmitter 1-3
inches (3-8 cm) away from the HomeLink buttons.
3. Simultaneously press and hold the HomeLink button
(that you want to train) and the hand-held transmitter
button.Do not release the buttons until Step 4 is
complete.
NOTE:Some gate operators and garage door openers
may require you to replace this Programming Step 3 with
procedures noted under9Gate Operator/Canadian Pro-
gramming.9
4. The EVIC will display ªChannel X Trainingº (where X
is Channel 1, 2, or 3). Release both buttons after the EVIC
displays ªChannel X Trained.º
NOTE:If the EVIC displays ªDid Not Train,º repeat
Steps 2±4.
5. Press and hold the just trained HomeLink button and
observe the EVIC display. If the EVIC displays ªChannel
X Transmitº (where X is Channel 1, 2, or 3), then
programming is complete, and your device should acti-
vate when the HomeLink button is pressed and released.
NOTE:To program the remaining two HomeLink but-
tons, begin with9Programming9Step 2. Do not repeat
Step 1.
NOTE:If your garage door opener fails to respond to
the programmed HomeLinktUniversal Transceiver, and
your garage door opener is manufactured after 1995, it
may have a multiple security code system (rolling code

successfully by HomeLink. The EVIC will display ªChan-
nel X Trainedº (where X is Channel 1, 2, or 3). Proceed
with9Programming9Step 4 to complete the procedure.
Using HomeLink
To operate, simply press and release the programmed
HomeLink button. Activation will now occur for the
trained device (i.e. garage door opener, gate operator,
security system, entry door lock, home/office lighting,
etc.). For convenience, the hand-held transmitter of the
device may also be used at any time. In the event that
there are still programming difficulties or questions,
contact HomeLink atwww.homelink.com or 1-800-355-
3515.
Erasing HomeLink Buttons
To erase programming from the three buttons (individual
buttons cannot be erased but can be9reprogrammed9-
note below), follow the step noted:
²Press and hold the two outer HomeLink buttons.
Release the buttons only when the EVIC displays
ªChannels Clearedº (after 20 seconds); however,do
nothold the buttons for longer than 30 seconds.HomeLink is now in the train (or learning) mode and
can be programmed at any time beginning with9Pro-
gramming9Step 2.
Reprogramming a Single HomeLink Button
To program a device a previously trained HomeLink
button, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the desired HomeLink button.Do
NOTrelease the button.
2. The EVIC will display ªChannel X Transmitº (where X
is Channel 1, 2, or 3) for 20 seconds and then change to
ªChannel X Training.º Without releasing the HomeLink
button, proceed with9Programming9Step 2.

ELECTRONIC VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER
(EVIC)
The Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) fea-
tures a driver-interactive display. It is located in the
instrument cluster below the speedometer. Vehicles
equipped with steering wheel mounted buttons (de-
scribed in this section) are also equipped with the EVIC.
The EVIC consists of the following:
²System Status
²Vehicle information warning message displays
²Tire Pressure Monitor System
²Personal Settings (customer programmable features)
²Compass display
²Outside temperature display
²Trip computer functions
²UConnectŸ hands-free communication system dis-
plays (if equipped)

The system allows the driver to select information by
pressing the following buttons mounted on the steering
wheel:
Press and release the MENU button and the
mode displayed will change between Trip
Functions, Navigation (if equipped), System
Status, Personal Settings, and Telephone (if
equipped).

Press the rotary TUNE control a third time and TREB will
display. Turn the TUNE control to the right or left to
increase or decrease the Treble tones.
Press the rotary TUNE control a fourth time and BAL will
display. Turn the TUNE control to the right or left to
adjust the sound level from the right or left side speakers.
Press the rotary TUNE control a fifth time and FADE will
display. Turn the TUNE control to the left or right to
adjust the sound level between the front and rear speak-
ers.
Press the tune control again or wait 5 seconds to exit
setting tone, balance, and fade.
RND/SET Button (Radio Mode) To SET The
Push-Button Memory
When you are receiving a station that you wish to
commit to push-button memory, press the SET button.
The symbol SET 1 will now show in the display window.
Select the button (1-6) you wish to lock onto this station
and press and release that button. If a button is notselected within 5 seconds after pressing the SET button,
the station will continue to play but will not be stored
into push-button memory.
You may add a second station to each push-button by
repeating the above procedure with this exception: Press
the SET button twice and SET 2 will show in the display
window. Each button can be set for SET 1 and SET 2 in
both AM and FM. This allows a total of 12 AM, 12 FM,
and 12 Satellite (if equipped) stations to be stored into
push-button memory. The stations stored in SET 2
memory can be selected by pressing the push-button
twice.
Every time a preset button is used, a corresponding
button number will display.Preset Buttons1-6(Radio Mode)
These buttons tune the Radio to the stations that you
commit to push-button memory {12 AM, 12 FM, and 12
Satellite (if equipped) stations}.
