NOTE:Do NOT grab the door handle, when pushing the
door handle button. This could unlock the door(s). NOTE:
•
After pushing the door handle button, you must wait
two seconds before you can lock or unlock the doors,
using either Passive Entry door handle or door handle
button. This is done to allow you to check if the vehicle
is locked by pulling the door handle, without the vehicle
reacting and unlocking.
• The Passive Entry system will not operate if the key fob
battery is dead.
• Closeness to mobile devices can have an effect on the
passive entry system.

Ambient Light — If Equipped
The overhead console is equipped with an ambient light
feature. This light casts illumination for improved visibility
of the floor and center console area.
Dimmer Control
Courtesy and dome lights are turned on when the front
doors are opened or when the dimmer control (rotating
wheel on the right side of the headlight switch) is rotated
to its farthest upward position. If your vehicle is equipped
with a key fob and the unlock button is pushed, the
courtesy and dome lights will turn on. When a door is open
and the interior lights are on, rotating the dimmer control
all the way down, to the (O) off detent, will cause all the
interior lights to go out. This is also known as the “Party”
mode because it allows the doors to stay open for extended
periods of time without discharging the vehicle’s battery.
The brightness of the instrument panel lighting can be
regulated by rotating the dimmer control up (brighter) or
down (dimmer). When the headlights are on you can
supplement the brightness of the odometer, trip odometer,

Rear Mini Console Cupholders — If Equipped
There are two cupholders for the rear seat passengers
located in the front of the rear mini console.
Electrical Power Outlets
Your vehicle is equipped with 12 Volt (13 Amp) power
outlets that can be used to power cellular phones, small
electronics and other low powered electrical accessories.The power outlets are labeled with either a “key” or a
“battery” symbol to indicate how the outlet is powered.
Power outlets labeled with a “key” are powered when the
ignition switch is in the ON or ACC position, while the
outlets labeled with a “battery” are connected directly to
the battery and powered at all times.
NOTE:
•
All accessories connected to the “battery” powered
outlets should be removed or turned off when the
vehicle is not in use to protect the battery against
discharge.
• Do not exceed the maximum power of 160 Watts
(13 Amps) at 12 Volts. If the 160 Watt (13 Amp) power
rating is exceeded the fuse protecting the system needs
to be replaced.
• Power outlets are designed for accessory plugs only. Do
not insert any other object in the power outlets as this
will damage the outlet and blow the fuse. Improper use
of the power outlet can cause damage not covered by
your New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

Your vehicle may also be designed to perform any of these
other functions in response to the Enhanced Accident
Response System:
•Turn off the Fuel Filter Heater, Turn off the HVAC
Blower Motor, Close the HVAC Circulation Door
• Cut off battery power to the:
• Engine
• Electric Motor (if equipped)
• Electric power steering
• Brake booster
• Electric park brake
• Automatic transmission gear selector
• Horn
• Front wiper
• Headlamp washer pump NOTE:
After an accident, remember to cycle the ignition
to the STOP (OFF/LOCK) position and remove the key
from the ignition switch to avoid draining the battery.
Carefully check the vehicle for fuel leaks in the engine
compartment and on the ground near the engine compart-
ment and fuel tank before resetting the system and starting
the engine. If there are no fuel leaks or damage to the
vehicle electrical devices (e.g. headlights) after an accident,
reset the system by following the procedure described
below. If you have any doubt, contact an authorized dealer.
Enhanced Accident Response System Reset
Procedure
In order to reset the Enhanced Accident Response System
functions after an event, the ignition switch must be
changed from ignition START or ON/RUN to ignition OFF.
Carefully check the vehicle for fuel leaks in the engine
compartment and on the ground near the engine compart-
ment and fuel tank before resetting the system and starting
the engine.

CAUTION!(Continued)
•Revving the engine or spinning the wheels too fast
may lead to transmission overheating and failure. It
can also damage the tires. Do not spin the wheels
above 30 mph (48 km/h) while in gear (no transmis-
sion shifting occurring).
TOWING A DISABLED VEHICLE
The manufacturer requires towing your vehicle with all
four wheels OFFthe ground using a flatbed.
If the key fob is unavailable, or the vehicle’s battery is
discharged, refer to “Manual Park Release” in this section
for instructions on shifting the transmission out of PARK
for loading onto a flatbed truck.
CAUTION!
• Towing this vehicle using any other method can
cause severe transmission and/or transfer case dam-
age.
• Damage from improper towing is not covered under
the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
ENHANCED ACCIDENT RESPONSE SYSTEM
(EARS)
This vehicle is equipped with an Enhanced Accident
Response System.
Please refer to “Occupant Restraint Systems” in “Safety”
for further information on the Enhanced Accident Re-
sponse System (EARS) function.
EVENT DATA RECORDER (EDR)
This vehicle is equipped with an Event Data Recorder
(EDR). The main purpose of an EDR is to record data that
will assist in understanding how a vehicle’s systems per-
formed under certain crash or near crash-like situations,
such as an air bag deployment or hitting a road obstacle.
Please refer to “Occupant Restraint Systems” in “Safety”
for further information on the Event Data Recorder (EDR).

•Cover the vehicle with an appropriate cover taking care
not to damage the painted surface by dragging across
dirty surfaces. Do not use plastic sheeting which will not
allow the evaporation of moisture present on the surface
of the vehicle.
• Inflate the tires at a pressure of +7.25 psi (+0.5 bar)
higher than recommended on the tire placard and check
it periodically.
• Do not drain the engine cooling system.
•
Whenever you leave the vehicle is stationary for two weeks
or more, run idle the engine for approximately five minutes,
with the air conditioning system on and high fan speed.
This will ensure a proper lubrication of the system, thus
minimizing the possibility of damage to the compressor
when the vehicle is put back into operation.
CAUTION!
Before removal of the positive and negative terminals
to the battery, wait at least a minute with ignition
switch in the OFF position and close the driver ’s door.
When reconnecting the positive and negative terminals
to the battery be sure the ignition switch is in the OFF
position and the driver ’s door is closed.
Battery Storage Mode
With the ignition in the ON position, engine not running,
navigate to the battery gauge page on the instrument cluster
display, then press and hold the OK button. The vehicle will be
put into battery storage mode, which will greatly increase the
amount of time the vehicle can sit and restart without needing
to disconnect the battery. Going into battery storage mode will
increase the amount of time between starts to about 60 days.
NOTE: The key fob buttons will not work while the
vehicle is in battery storage mode, pulling the door handle
will wake the vehicle and allow it to recognize the key fob
to unlock the door.
BODYWORK
Protection From Atmospheric Agents
Vehicle body care requirements vary according to geographic
locations and usage. Chemicals that make roads passable in
snow and ice and those that are sprayed on trees and road
surfaces during other seasons are highly corrosive to the metal
in your vehicle. Outside parking, which exposes your vehicle
to airborne contaminants, road surfaces on which the vehicle
is operated, extreme hot or cold weather and other extreme
conditions will have an adverse effect on paint, metal trim,
and underbody protection.

To exit Valet Mode you must enter the same four digit PIN
that was used to enter the mode. The unlock keypad can be
accessed by either pushing the SRT button, or pressing the
“Valet” button on the touchscreen.The Valet Mode Deactivation key pad will then prompt
you for your four digit PIN code, enter your PIN code and
press the “OK” button on the touchscreen.
NOTE:
If your four digit PIN is lost or forgotten, the
vehicle will exit Valet Mode after a battery disconnect for
approximately one minute. Reconnect the battery and cycle
the ignition to the RUN position, the vehicle will be in
Default Mode.
