When a warning lamp or indicator does notilluminate once you have switched theignition on, it indicates a malfunction. Havethe system checked by an authorizeddealer.
Anti-Lock Brake System WarningLamp
If it illuminates when you aredriving, this indicates amalfunction. Your vehicle willcontinue to have normal braking withoutAnti-lock brake system function.
Brake System Warning Lamp
It will illuminate when youengage the parking brake andthe ignition is on.
WARNING
Reduce your speed gradually andstop your vehicle as soon as it is safeto do so. Use your brakes with care.
If it illuminates when your vehicle ismoving, make sure the parking brake isdisengaged. If the parking brake isdisengaged, this indicates low brake fluidlevel or a brake system malfunction. Havethe system checked by an authorizeddealer immediately.
Coolant Temperature WarningLamp
WARNING
Do not resume your journey if itilluminates despite the level beingcorrect. Have the system checked bya an authorized dealer immediately.
If it illuminates when you aredriving, this indicates amalfunction. Stop your vehicleas soon as it is safe to do so and switch theengine off. Check the coolant level. SeeEngine Coolant Check (page 158).
Cruise Control Indicator
It will illuminate when you haveset a speed using the cruisecontrol system. See UsingCruise Control (page 117).
Direction Indicator Warning Lamp
Flashes during operation. Asudden increase in the rate offlashing warns of a failedindicator bulb. See Changing a Bulb(page 162).
Door Ajar Warning Lamp
It will illuminate when you switchthe ignition on and remains on ifany door or the hood is open.
Engine Warning Lamps
Malfunction Indicator Lamp
Powertrain Warning Lamp
All Vehicles
If either lamp illuminates when the engineis running, this indicates a malfunction. Theengine will continue to run but it may havelimited power. If it flashes when you aredriving, reduce the speed of your vehicleimmediately. If it continues to flash, avoidheavy acceleration or deceleration. Havethe system checked by an authorizeddealer immediately.

4.Connect the negative (-) terminal ofvehicle B to the ground connection ofvehicle A (cable D).
WARNINGS
Do not connect directly to thenegative (–) terminal of the batterywith low charge.
Make sure that the cables are clearof any moving parts and fuel deliverysystem parts.
To Start the Engine
1.Run the engine of vehicle B at amoderately high speed.
2.Start the engine of vehicle A.
3.Run both vehicles for a minimum ofthree minutes before disconnecting thecables.
WARNING
Do not switch on the headlampswhen disconnecting the cables. Thepeak voltage could blow the bulbs.
Disconnect the cables in the reverse order.

ADJUSTING THE HEADLAMPS
You can adjust the headlamp beams forwhen you drive on the right-hand side orleft-hand side of the road.
1.Remove the headlamps. SeeRemoving a Headlamp (page 161).
2.Remove the covers. See Changing aBulb (page 162).
3.Slide the control on each headlamp toadjust the headlamp beam.
Note:When you return to driving on theother side of the road, remember to changethe headlamp beams to the original setting.
REMOVING A HEADLAMP
1.Open the hood. See Opening andClosing the Hood (page 152).
2.Remove the screws and push pins.
3.Lift the outer side of the headlamp todisengage it from the lower fixing point.
4.Pull the headlamp as far as possibletoward the center of your vehicle andremove.
5.Disconnect the two electricalconnectors.
Note:When fitting the headlamp, makesure that you reconnect the electricalconnector correctly.

CHANGING A BULB
WARNINGS
Switch the lamps and the ignition off.
Let the bulb cool down beforeremoving it.
Do not touch the glass of the bulb.
Note:Only fit bulbs of the correctspecification.
Note:The following instructions describehow to remove the bulbs. Fit replacementsin the reverse order unless otherwise stated.
Headlamp
Note:Remove the covers to gain access tothe bulbs.

1.Remove the headlamp. SeeRemoving a Headlamp (page 161).
2.Turn the bulb holder counterclockwiseand remove it.
3.Gently press the bulb into the bulbholder, turn it counterclockwise andremove it.
Headlamp High Beam
1.Remove the headlamp. SeeRemoving a Headlamp (page 161).

4.Release the clip and remove the bulb.
Note:Do not touch the glass of the bulb.
Headlamp Low Beam
1.Remove the headlamp. SeeRemoving a Headlamp (page 161).
2.Remove the cover.
3.Turn the bulb holder counterclockwiseand remove it.
4.Remove the bulb.
Note:Do not touch the glass of the bulb.
Side Lamp
1.Remove the headlamp. SeeRemoving a Headlamp (page 161).
2.Remove the cover.
3.Remove the bulb holder.
4.Remove the bulb.
Side Repeater
1.Carefully remove the side repeater.

3.Remove the bulb.
Approach Lamp
Note:Position the mirror glass as far inwardas possible.
1.Insert a screwdriver into the gapbetween the mirror housing and themirror glass and release the metalretaining clip.
2.Remove the lamp.
3.Remove the bulb.
Front Fog Lamps
Note:You cannot separate the fog lampbulb from the bulb holder.
1.Disconnect the electrical connector.
2.Turn the bulb holder counterclockwiseand remove it.
