The mirrors will unfold when youunlock your vehicle with the key, theremote control, a keyless entry systemrequest, the driver's interior door handle orstarting the engine.
Manual Folding and Unfolding
Note:You can only fold the mirrors whenthe mirror switch is set to position B off.
The electric folding mirrors operate withthe ignition on.
Note:You can operate the mirrors (mirrortilting and folding) for several minutes afteryou switch the ignition off. If you open a dooryou can no longer operate the mirrors.
Press the downward arrow to fold orunfold the mirrors.
If you press the switch again while themirrors are moving, they will stop andreverse the direction of movement.
Note:When the mirrors are operated oftenduring a short period of time, the systemmay become inoperable for a period of timeto prevent damage due to overheating.
Fold-Away Exterior Mirrors
Push the mirror toward the door windowglass. Make sure that you fully engage themirror in its support when returning it to itsoriginal position.
INTERIOR MIRROR
WARNING
Do not adjust the mirror when yourvehicle is moving.
Note:Do not clean the housing or glass ofany mirror with harsh abrasives, fuel or otherpetroleum or ammonia-based cleaningproducts.
You can adjust the interior mirror to yourpreference. Some mirrors also have asecond pivot point. This lets you move themirror head up or down and from side toside.
Pull the tab below the mirror toward youto reduce glare at night.
Auto-Dimming Mirror (If Equipped)
Note:Do not block the sensors on the frontand back of the mirror. Mirror performancemay be affected. A rear center passenger orraised rear center head restraint may alsoblock light from reaching the sensor.
The mirror will dim automatically to reduceglare when bright lights are detected frombehind your vehicle. It will automaticallyreturn to normal reflection when you selectreverse gear to make sure you have a clearview when backing up.

General Information
WARNINGS
The system does not relieve you ofyour responsibility to drive with duecare and attention.
At all times you are responsible forcontrolling your vehicle, supervisingthe system and intervening ifrequired.
Never look directly into the sensorwith any type of object. There is a riskof eye injury.
If the sensor becomes blocked thesystem may not function.
To achieve full system performance,you must bed the braking system in.See Breaking-In (page 130).
The system performance may varydepending on your vehicle and roadconditions.
The system will not react to vehiclesdriving in a different direction.
The system will not react to bicycles,motorcycles, people or animals.
When the ignition is on the sensorwill constantly transmit a laserbeam.
The system will not operate duringharsh acceleration and steering.
In cold and severe weatherconditions the system may notfunction. Rain, snow, spray and icecan all influence the sensor.
Do not carry out windshield repairsin the immediate area surroundingthe sensor.
WARNINGS
If you install a windshield notapproved by us, the system may notfunction correctly.
If the engine stops after the systemhas been switched on, the hazardwarning flashers will turn on.
The system may not function whendriving around sharp curves.
Note:Keep the windshield free fromobstructions such as bird droppings, insects,snow or ice.
Note:Keep the hood free of ice and snow,otherwise the system may not functioncorrectly.
A sensor is mounted behind the interiorrear view mirror. It continuously monitorsconditions to decide when to intervene.
The system is designed to help you reducelow speed collisions into the rear ofanother vehicle. It will also help you reducethe impact damage or potentially avoidthe collision completely.
The system operates at speeds belowapproximately 19 mph (30 km/h) byapplying the brakes when the sensordetects that a collision is likely.
You must depress the brake pedal toobtain full braking force.
When the system is braking or hasautomatically applied the brakes, amessage will be shown in the informationdisplay.

You may be speaking toosoon or at the wrongtime.
Review the media voice commands at thebeginning of the media section.You may be using thewrong voice commands.
SYNC does notunderstand thename of a songor artist.
Say the song or artist exactly as the systemsaved it. If you say, "Play Artist Prince", thesystem does not play music by Prince andthe Revolution or Prince and the NewPower Generation.You may not be sayingthe name exactly as thesystem saved it.Make sure you are saying the complete titlesuch as "California remix featuring JenniferNettles".
If the song titles are in capital letters, youhave to spell them. LOLA requires you tosay "L-O-L-A".
Do not use special characters in the title,as the system does not recognize them.
The system may not bereading the name thesame way you are sayingit.
Review the cell phone voice commands atthe beginning of the cell phone section.
You may be using thewrong voice commands.
SYNC does notunderstand or iscalling thewrong contactwhen I want tomake a call.
You can also use the cell phone and mediasuggestion lists to get a list of possiblesuggestions when the system cannot fullyunderstand you. See Using Voice Recog-nition (page 240).
