Curtain air bags
Moulded badges in the A- andB-piller trims indicate that curtain airbags are fitted. The curtain airbagsare fitted over the front and rear sidewindows inside the roof lining. In caseof a severe lateral collision, the air bagon the side affected by the collisionwill be inflated.
The curtain air bags are not activatedupon minor lateral collisions nor uponfront or rear impacts.
Seat belts
WARNINGS
Use seat belts at all times.
Never use a seat belt for morethan one person.
Avoid wearing thick clothing.
WARNINGS
The seat belts should fit tightlyaround the body.
Seat belt pretensioner
WARNING
The belt pretensioners must notbe removed. If thepretensioners are deployed duringan accident, they must be replaced.Have the pretensioners serviced anddisposed of by specially trainedpersonnel only.
The restraint system, with beltpretensioners in the front seats, helpsto reduce the risk of serious injury ina major frontal impact. During aserious crash the seat belts arepretensioned to help reduce slack inthe belt. The safety belt pretensioneris a device which removes excesswebbing from the safety belt system.When the safety belt pretensionerdeploys, webbing from the lap andshoulder belt is tightened.

Turn the bulb anticlockwise underslight pressure and remove it.Replace the bulb.
Install in the reverse order. Afterinstallation, check that the lightsoperate correctly.
Central brake lamp
Consult an expert.
Number plate lamp
5 watt festoon
Loosen the two screws, and removethe lamp assembly.
Install in the reverse order.
Interior and reading lamps
Switch off the lights.
Insert a flat-bladed screwdriver intothe recess between the body of theunit and the lens at the opposite sideto the switches. Gently prise out thelens a short way. Take hold of theside of the lens and lift it off the unit.

WARNINGS
Switch the ignition off beforetouching or attemptingadjustment of any kind.
Do not touch the electronicignition system parts after youhave switched the ignition on orwhen the engine is running. Thesystem operates at high voltage.
Keep your hands and clothingclear of the engine cooling fan.Under certain conditions, the fan maycontinue to run for several minutesafter you have switched the engineoff.

CAUTIONS
Connect batteries with only thesame nominal voltage.
Always use booster cables withinsulated clamps and adequatesize cable.
