DATA RECORDING
Service Data Recording
Service data recorders in your vehicle arecapable of collecting and storingdiagnostic information about your vehicle.This potentially includes information aboutthe performance or status of varioussystems and modules in the vehicle, suchas engine, throttle, steering or brakesystems. In order to properly diagnose andservice your vehicle, Ford Motor Company(Ford of Canada in Canada), and serviceand repair facilities may access or shareamong them vehicle diagnosticinformation received through a directconnection to your vehicle whendiagnosing or servicing your vehicle.Additionally, Ford Motor Company (Fordof Canada, in Canada) may, wherepermitted by law, use vehicle diagnosticinformation for vehicle improvement orwith other information we may have aboutyou, (for example, your contactinformation), to offer you products orservices that may interest you. Data maybe provided to our service providers such

WARNING: All occupants of yourvehicle, including the driver, shouldalways properly wear their seatbelts,even when an airbag supplementalrestraint system is provided. Failure toproperly wear your seatbelt couldseriously increase the risk of injury ordeath.
WARNING: To reduce risk of injury,do not obstruct or place objects in thedeployment path of the airbag.
WARNING: If a supplementaryrestraint system component hasdeployed, it will not function again. Havethe system and associated componentsinspected as soon as possible. Failure tofollow this instruction could result inpersonal injury or death.
The Safety Canopy deploys duringsignificant side crashes or when a certainlikelihood of a rollover event is detectedby the rollover sensor. The Safety Canopyis mounted to the roof side rail sheet metal,behind the headliner, above each row ofseats. In certain sideways crashes orrollover events, the Safety Canopy will beactivated, regardless of which seats areoccupied. The Safety Canopy is designedto inflate between the side window areaand occupants to further enhanceprotection provided in side impact crashesand rollover events.
The system consists of the following:
•Safety Canopy curtain airbags abovethe trim panels over the front and rearside windows identified by a label orwording on the headliner or roof-pillartrim.
•A flexible headliner which opens abovethe side doors to allow air curtaindeployment
· Crash sensors and monitoringsystem with a readinessindicator. See Crash Sensorsand Airbag Indicator (page 44).
Properly restrain children 12 years old andunder in the rear seats. The Safety Canopywill not interfere with children restrainedusing a properly installed child or boosterseat because it is designed to inflatedownward from the headliner above thedoors along the side window opening.
The design and development of the SafetyCanopy included recommended testingprocedures that were developed by agroup of automotive safety experts knownas the Side Airbag Technical WorkingGroup. These recommended testingprocedures help reduce the risk of injuriesrelated to the deployment of side airbags(including the Safety Canopy).

TAILGATE
WARNING: It is extremelydangerous to ride in a cargo area, insideor outside of a vehicle. In a crash, peopleriding in these areas are more likely to beseriously injured or killed. Do not allowpeople to ride in any area of your vehiclethat is not equipped with seats andseatbelts. Make sure everyone in yourvehicle is in a seat and properly using aseatbelt. Failure to follow this warningcould result in serious personal injury ordeath.
WARNING: Make sure that youfully close the tailgate to preventexhaust fumes from entering yourvehicle. If you are unable to fully closethe tailgate, open the air vents or thewindows to allow fresh air to enter yourvehicle. Failure to follow this instructioncould result in personal injury or death.
WARNING: Make sure that youfully close the tailgate to preventpassengers and cargo from falling out.Failure to follow this instruction couldresult in personal injury or death.
Note:Be careful when opening or closingthe tailgate in a garage or other enclosedarea to avoid damaging the tailgate.
Opening the Tailgate

Note:Vehicle without Intelligent Access,you must unlock your vehicle in order toopen the tailgate.
Note:Vehicle with Intelligent Access youcan unlock your vehicle in order to open thetailgate or if an intelligent access key iswithin 3.3 ft (1 m) of the tailgate, thetailgate unlocks when you press the tailgaterelease button even if the vehicle is locked.
Note:For vehicles with a spare wheel, whenyou unlatch the tailgate and pull the exteriorhandle, the mechanism fully opens thetailgate. When closing, the mechanismslowly closes the tailgate.
Press the release button located on thetailgate right-hand tail lamp.

The rear window wiper also turns on whenyou shift into reverse and the windshieldwipers are on.
You can switch reverse wipe off in theinformation display.
Note:Make sure that you switch the rearwindow wiper off before entering a carwash.
Settings
To switch reverse wipe on or off, use the information display controls on thesteering wheel to select the following:

Rear Window WasherPush the lever away from you to operatethe rear window washer. When you releasethe lever, the wiper operates for a shorttime.
Do not operate the washers when thewasher reservoir is empty. This could causethe washer pump to overheat.

POWER WINDOWS
WARNING: Do not leave childrenunattended in your vehicle and do notlet them play with the power windows.Failure to follow this instruction couldresult in personal injury.
WARNING: When closing thepower windows, verify they are free ofobstruction and make sure that childrenand pets are not in the proximity of thewindow openings.
Note:If the power window is operatedmany times on a short period the switchmay be inactivated for some moment toavoid overheat on power window system.
Note:You may hear a pulsing noise whenjust one of the windows is open. Lower theopposite window slightly to reduce thisnoise.
Press the switch to open the window. Liftthe switch to close the window.
One-Touch Down (If Equipped)
Press the switch fully and release it. Pressagain or lift it to stop the window.
One-Touch Up (If Equipped)
Lift the switch fully and release it. Press orlift it again to stop the window.
Bounce-Back (If Equipped)
The window will stop automatically whileclosing. It reverses some distance if thereis an obstacle in the way
Overriding the Bounce-Back Feature
WARNING: If you overridebounce-back, the window does notreverse if it detects an obstacle. Takecare when closing the windows to avoidpersonal injury or damage to yourvehicle.
1.Close the window twice until it reachesthe point of resistance and let itreverse.
2.Close the window a third time to thepoint of resistance. You disabled thebounce-back feature and you can nowclose the window manually. Thewindow travels past the point ofresistance and you can close it fully.
Note:: Contact an Authorized Dealer assoon as possible if the window does notclose after the third attempt.
The window reaches the desired position.The window travels up with nobounce-back protection. The windowsstops if you release the switch before thewindow closes fully.
Resetting the One-Touch andBounce-Back Feature (if equipped)
Note:The bounce-back feature remainsturned off until you reset the memory.
If you have disconnected the battery, youmust reset the bounce-back memory fordriver window.

1.Lift and hold the switch until thewindow is fully closed.
2.Hold the switch for a few seconds.
3.Release the switch.
4.Open the window and then try to closeit automatically.
5.Repeat the procedure if the windowdoes not close automatically.
Window Lock
Press the control to lock or unlock the rearwindow controls. It will illuminate whenyou lock the rear window controls.
Accessory Delay
You can use the window switches forseveral minutes after you switch theignition off or until you open either frontdoor.

1.Select the mirror you want to adjust.The control will illuminate.
2.Adjust the position of the mirror.

Integrated Blind Spot Mirrors (If
Equipped)
Note:Objects in the blind spot mirror arecloser than they appear.
Blind spot mirrors have an integratedconvex mirror built into the upper outboardcorner of the exterior mirrors. They canincrease your visibility along the side ofyour vehicle.
Check the main mirror first before a lanechange, then check the blind spot mirror.If the blind spot mirror does not show anyvehicles in its viewing area and the trafficin the adjacent lane is at a safe distance,signal that you intend to change lanes.Glance over your shoulder to verify trafficis clear and carefully change lanes.

The image of the approaching vehicle issmall and near the inboard edge of themain mirror when it is at a distance. Theimage becomes larger and begins to moveoutboard across the main mirror as thevehicle approaches (A). The image willtransition from the main mirror and beginto appear in the blind spot mirror as thevehicle approaches (B). The vehicle willtransition to your peripheral field of viewas it leaves the blind spot mirror (C).
INTERIOR MIRROR
WARNING: Do not adjust themirrors when your vehicle is moving. Thiscould result in the loss of control of yourvehicle, serious personal injury or death.
Note:Do not clean the housing or glass ofany mirror with harsh abrasives, fuel or otherpetroleum or ammonia-based cleaningproducts.
You can adjust the interior mirror to yourpreference. Some mirrors also have asecond pivot point. This lets you move themirror head up or down and from side toside.
Pull the tab below the mirror toward youto reduce glare at night.
Auto-Dimming Mirror (If Equipped)
Note:Do not block the sensors on the frontand back of the mirror. Mirror performancemay be affected. A rear center passenger orraised rear center head restraint may alsoblock light from reaching the sensor.
The mirror will dim automatically to reduceglare when bright lights are detected frombehind your vehicle. It will automaticallyreturn to normal reflection when you selectreverse gear to make sure you have a clearview when backing up.
MOONROOF (IF EQUIPPED)
WARNING: Do not leave childrenunattended in your vehicle and do notlet them play with the moonroof. Failureto follow this instruction could result inpersonal injury.
WARNING: When closing themoonroof, verify that it is free ofobstruction and make sure that childrenand pets are not in the proximity of theroof opening.
The sunscreen can be manually opened orclosed when the glass panel is closed.
The moonroof control is located on theoverhead console.
