FADE (Fade):Press MENU to reach the fade setting.
Use
//SEEK, SEEKto adjust the audio between the front
and rear speakers.
SPEEDVOL (Speed sensitive volume) (if equipped):Press MENU
to reach the SPEEDVOL setting. Radio volume automatically changes
slightly with vehicle speed to compensate for road and wind noise. Use
the
//SEEK, SEEKto adjust.
The default setting isoff; increasing your vehicle speed will not change
the volume level.
Adjust1–7:Increasing this setting from 1 (lowest setting) to 7 (highest
setting) allows the radio volume to automatically change slightly with
vehicle speed to compensate for road and wind noise.
Recommended level is1–3;level 0 turns the feature off and level 7 is the
maximum setting.
Setting the clock:Press MENU to reach SELECT HOUR or SELECT
MINS. Use
SEEK, SEEKto adjust the hours/minutes. Press
MENU again to disengage clock mode.
4.AUX:Press the AUX button to
toggle between FES/DVD (if
equipped), and SAT1, SAT2 and
SAT3 modes (satellite radio, if equipped). If no auxiliary sources are
available, NO AUX AUDIO will be displayed.
5.SEEK:
In radio mode,press the
SEEK, SEEKbutton to
access the previous/next strong station.
In CD mode,press
SEEK, SEEKbutton access the
previous/next track.
In satellite radio mode (if equipped),press
SEEK, SEEK
to seek to the previous/next channel. If a specific category is selected,
(Jazz, Rock, News, etc.), press
SEEK, SEEKto seek to the
previous/next channel in the selected category. Press and hold
SEEKto fast seek through the previous/next channels.
In TEXT MODE,press
SEEK, SEEKto view the
previous/additional display text.

sampling of radio stations or CD
tracks. Press again to stop.
In satellite mode (if equipped),press to hear a brief sampling of the
next channels. Press again to stop.
In CATEGORY MODE,press SCAN to hear a brief sampling of the
channels in the selected category. Press again to stop.

14.ON/OFF/Volume:Press VOL -
PUSH to turn ON/OFF. Turn VOL -
PUSH to increase/decrease volume.
Note:If the volume is set above a
certain level and the ignition is
turned off, the volume will come back on at a “nominal” listening level
when the ignition is turned back on.
15.CD:Press CD to enter CD
mode. If a CD is already loaded into
the system, the CD play will begin
where it ended last.
16.LOAD:Press LOAD to load a
CD, then select a slot number using
the radio presets 1 through 6. If you
don’t select a slot within 5 seconds,
the radio shall choose the first
available slot for you.
Note:Press and hold for two seconds to autoload up to six CDs.

(CD eject):Pressand
then the correct memory preset to
eject a specific CD from slots 1–6.
Note:Press and hold
for two seconds to autoeject up to six CDs.
18.CD slot:Insert a CD with label
side up in the CD slot.

AM and FM frequencies are established by the Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) and the Canadian Radio and Telecommunications
Commission (CRTC). Those frequencies are:

Radio reception factors
There are three factors that can affect radio reception:
•Distance/strength: The further you travel from an FM station, the
weaker the signal and the weaker the reception.

CDs with homemade paper
(adhesive) labels should not be
inserted into the CD player as
the label may peel and cause the
CD to become jammed. It is
recommended that homemade
CDs be identified with
permanent felt tip marker rather
than adhesive labels. Ballpoint pens may damage CDs. Please

Satellite radio information (if equipped)
Satellite radio channels:Satellite radio frequencies are established by
the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). SIRIUS Satellite Radio
broadcasts within a frequency range of 2320.0 MHz-2332.5 MHz. This
frequency range is sub-divided into over 120 channels of music, news,
sports, weather and traffic programming. For a complete set of SIRIUS
Satellite Radio channels, visit www.sirius.com or call SIRIUS at
1–888–539–7474. For a quick reference of the SIRIUS Satellite Radio
channel guide, refer to theSirius Welcome Kit.
Satellite radio reception factors:To receive the satellite signal, your
vehicle has been equipped with a satellite radio antenna located on the
roof of your vehicle. The vehicle roof provides the best location for an
unobstructed, open view of the sky, a requirement of a satellite radio
system. Like AM/FM, there are several factors that can affect satellite
radio reception performance:
•Antenna Obstructions: For optimal reception performance, keep the
antenna clear of snow and ice build-up and keep luggage and other
material as far away from the antenna as possible.
•Terrain: Hills, mountains, tall buildings, bridges, tunnels, freeway
overpasses, parking garages, dense tree foliage and thunderstorms can
interfere with your reception.
•Station overload: When you pass a ground based broadcast repeating
tower, a stronger signal may overtake a weaker one and result in an
audio mute.
Unlike AM/FM audible static, you will hear an audio mute when there is
a satellite radio signal interference. Your radio display may display NO
SIGNAL to indicate the interference.

STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS (IF EQUIPPED)
These controls allow you to operate some radio and climate control
features.
Radio control features
•Press MODE to select AM, FM1,
FM2, TAPE or CD (if equipped).
In Radio mode:
•Press NEXT to seek/scan to the
next strong station.
In Tape mode:
•Press NEXT to listen to the next
selection on the tape.
In CD mode:
•Press NEXT to listen to the next
track on the disc.
In any mode:
•Press VOL up or down to adjust
the volume.
Climate control features
•Press TEMP up or down to adjust temperature.
•Press FAN up or down to adjust fan speed.
UPFITTER CONTROLS (IF EQUIPPED)
Your vehicle may be equipped with
the Upfitter option package which
will provide four switches, mounted
in the center of the instrument
panel, labeled AUX 1, AUX 2, AUX 3
and AUX 4. These switches will only
operate while the ignition is in the 4
(ON) position, whether the engine
is running or not. It is, however, recommended that the engine remain
running to maintain battery charge when using the Upfitter switches for
extended duration or higher current draws. (This is even more important
for vehicles with diesel engines since the glow plugs are also draining
battery power when the ignition key is in the 4 [ON] position.)

The typical operating range for your remote entry transmitter is
approximately 33 feet (10 meters). A decrease in operating range could
be caused by:
•weather conditions,
•nearby radio towers,
•structures around the vehicle, or
•other vehicles parked next to your vehicle.
Your vehicle is equipped with a remote entry system which allows you to:
•unlock the vehicle doors without
a key.
•lock all the vehicle doors without
a key.
•activate the personal alarm.
If there are problems with the remote entry system, make sure to take
ALL remote entry transmitterswith you to the authorized dealer in
order to aid in troubleshooting the problem.
Unlocking the doors
1. Press
and release to unlock the driver’s door.Note:The interior
lamps will illuminate.
2. Press
and release again within three seconds to unlock all the
doors.
Locking the doors
1. Press
and release to lock all the doors. The parking lamps will
flash if all the doors are closed and locked.
2. Press
and release again within three seconds to confirm that all
the doors are closed and locked.Note:The doors will lock again, the
horn will chirp once, and the parking lamps will flash once more.
If any of the doors are not properly closed the horn will make two quick
chirps and the parklamps will not flash.

STARTING
Positions of the ignition
1. ACCESSORY, allows the electrical
accessories such as the radio to
operate while the engine is not
running.
2. LOCK, locks the steering wheel,
automatic transmission gearshift
lever and allows key removal. For
vehicles equipped with a manual
transmission, you must depress the
ignition release lever to release the
key.
3. OFF, shuts off the engine and all accessories without locking the
steering wheel. This position also allows the automatic transmission shift
lever to be moved from the P (Park) position without the brake pedal
being depressed.
When the key is in the ignition and in the OFF position, the
automatic transmission shift lever can be moved from the P
(Park) position without the brake pedal depressed. To avoid unwanted
vehicle movement, always set the parking brake.
4. ON, all electrical circuits operational. Warning lights illuminated. Key
position when driving.
5. START, cranks the engine. Release the key as soon as the engine
starts.
Preparing to start your vehicle
Engine starting is controlled by the powertrain control system. This
system meets all Canadian Interference-Causing Equipment standard
requirements regulating the impulse electrical field strength of radio
noise.
When starting a fuel-injected engine, don’t press the accelerator before
or during starting. Only use the accelerator when you have difficulty
starting the engine. For more information on starting the vehicle, refer to
Starting the enginein this chapter.
