Tips and Troubleshooting Chart
ProblemRecommended Action
There is no power. The ignition might not be turned to ON/RUN or
ACC/ACCESSORY.
The picture does not fill the screen. There are
black borders on the top and bottom or on both
sides, or the picture looks stretched out. Check the display mode settings in the setup menu by pressing
the display menu button on the remote control.
In auxiliary mode, the picture moves or scrolls. Check the auxiliary input connections at both devices.
The remote control does not work. Check to make sure there is no obstruction between the remote
control and the transmitter window.
Check the batteries to make sure they are not dead or installed
incorrectly.
After stopping the player, and pushing Play,
sometimes the DVD starts where it left off and
sometimes at the beginning. If the stop button was pressed one time, the DVD player resumes
playing where the DVD was stopped. If the stop button was
pressed two times, the DVD player begins to play from the
beginning of the DVD.
The auxiliary source is running, but there is no
picture or sound. Check that the RSE video screen is in the auxiliary source mode.
Check the auxiliary input connections at both devices.
Sometimes the wireless headphone audio cuts
out or buzzes. Check for obstructions, low batteries, reception range, and
interference from cellular telephone towers, or use a cellular
telephone in the vehicle.
Check that the headphones are on correctly using the
L (left) and R (right) on the headphones.

Rear Seat Audio (RSA)
System
For vehicles with Rear Seat Audio
(RSA), rear seat passengers can
listen to and control any of the
music sources: radio, CDs, DVDs,
or other auxiliary sources. The rear
seat passengers can only control
the music sources the front seat
passengers are not listening to
(except on some radios where dual
control is allowed). For example,
rear seat passengers can control a
CD and listen to it through the
headphones, while the driver listens
to the radio through the front
speakers. The rear seat passengers
have control of the volume for each
set of headphones.The RSA functions operate even
when the main radio is off. The front
audio system displaysXwhen the
RSA is on, and disappears from the
display when it is off.
Audio can be heard through wired
headphones (not included) plugged
into the jacks on the RSA. If the
vehicle has this feature, audio can
also be heard on Channel 2 of the
wireless headphones.
The audio system mutes the rear
speakers when the RSA audio is
active through the headphones.
To listen to an iPod or portable
audio device through the RSA,
attach the iPod or portable audio
device to the front auxiliary input
(if available), located on the front
audio system. Turn the iPod on,
then choose the front auxiliary input
with the RSA SRCE button.
P(Power): Press to turn the RSA
on or off.
Volume: To increase or decrease
headphone volume, turn the knobs
located next to the SRCE or PROG
buttons. The left knob controls the
left headphones and the right knob
controls the right headphones.
SRCE (Source): Press to select
between the radio (AM/FM), CD,
and if the vehicle has these
features, DVD, front auxiliary, and
rear auxiliary.

PROG (Program): Press to go to
the next preset radio station or
channel set on the main radio.
This function is inactive, with some
radios, if the front seat passengers
are listening to the radio.
When a CD or DVD audio disc is
playing, press PROG to go to the
beginning of the CD or DVD audio.
This function is inactive, with some
radios, if the front seat passengers
are listening to the disc.
When a disc is playing in the CD or
DVD changer, press PROG to
select the next disc, if multiple discs
are loaded. This function is inactive,
with some radios, if the front seat
passengers are listening to the disc.
When a DVD video menu is being
displayed, press PROG to perform
the ENTER menu function.
Rear Audio
Controller (RAC)
The vehicle may have the Rear
Audio Controller (RAC). Certain
radio functions can be controlled
with the RAC.
worx(Next/Previous): Press
the up or down arrows to go to the
next or to the previous radio station
stored as a favorite.
When a CD/DVD is playing, press
the up or down arrows to go to the
next or previous track or chapter.

{WARNING
When using a cell phone, it can
be distracting to look too long or
too often at the screen of the
phone or the infotainment
(navigation) system. Taking your
eyes off the road too long or
too often could cause a crash
resulting in injury or death.
Focus your attention on driving.
A Bluetooth system can use a
Bluetooth‐capable cell phone with a
Hands‐Free Profile to make and
receive phone calls. The system
can be used while the key is in the
ON/RUN or ACC/ACCESSORY
position. The range of the Bluetooth
system can be up to 9.1 m (30 ft).
Not all phones support all functions,
and not all phones work with the
in-vehicle Bluetooth system.

Voice Recognition
The Bluetooth system uses voice
recognition to interpret voice
commands to dial phone numbers
and name tags.
For additional information, say
“Help” while you are in a voice
recognition menu.
Noise: Keep interior noise levels to
a minimum. The system may not
recognize voice commands if there
is too much background noise.
When to Speak: A short tone
sounds after the system responds
indicating when it is waiting for a
voice command. Wait until the tone
and then speak.
How to Speak: Speak clearly in a
calm and natural voice.
Audio System
When using the in‐vehicle Bluetooth
system, sound comes through the
vehicle's front audio system
speakers and overrides the audio
system. Use the audio system
volume knob, during a call, to
change the volume level. The
adjusted volume level remains in
memory for later calls. To prevent
missed calls, a minimum volume
level is used if the volume is turned
down too low.
Bluetooth Controls
Use the buttons located on the
steering wheel to operate the
in‐vehicle Bluetooth system.
See Steering Wheel Controls on
page 5‑2 for more information.
b/g(Push To Talk): Press to
answer incoming calls, confirm
system information, and start
speech recognition.
c/x(End): Press to end a call,
reject a call, or cancel an operation.

Digit Dial:This command allows
a phone number to be dialed by
entering the digits one at a time.
Re‐dial: This command is used to
dial the last number used on the
cell phone.
Using the “Dial”or“Call”
Command
1. Press and hold
b/gfor
two seconds.
2. Say “Dial”or“Call.”
3. Say the entire number without pausing, or say the name tag.
Once connected, the person called
will be heard through the audio
speakers.
Using the “Digit Dial” Command
The digit dial command allows a
phone number to be dialed by
entering the digits one at a time. After each digit is entered, the
system repeats back the digit it
heard followed by a tone.
If an unwanted number is
recognized by the system, say
“Clear”
at any time to clear the last
number.
To hear all of the numbers
recognized by the system, say
“Verify” at any time.
1. Press and hold
b/gfor

3. Say each digit, one at a time, that you want to dial. After each
digit is entered, the system
repeats back the digit it heard
followed by a tone. After the

Receiving a Call

Call Waiting
Call waiting must be supported on
the cell phone and enabled by the
wireless service carrier.
.Pressb/gto answer an
incoming call when another
call is active. The original call is
placed on hold.

.To ignore the incoming call, no
action is required.

Three‐Way Calling
Three‐way calling must be
supported on the cell phone and
enabled by the wireless service
carrier.
1. While on a call, press
b/g.
2. Say “Three‐way call.”
3. Use the dial or call command to dial the number of the third party
to be called.
4. Once the call is connected, press
b/gto link all callers
together.
Ending a Call
Pressc/xto end a call.
Muting a Call
During a call, all sounds from inside
the vehicle can be muted so that the
person on the other end of the call
cannot hear them.
.To mute a call, pressb/g, and
then say “Mute call.”
.To cancel mute, pressb/g,
and then say “Un‐mute call.”
Transferring a Call
Audio can be transferred between
the Bluetooth system and the cell
phone.
The cell phone must be paired and
connected with the Bluetooth
system before a call can be
transferred. The connection process
can take up to two minutes after the
ignition is turned to ON/RUN. Transferring Audio from the
Bluetooth System to a Cell Phone
During a call with the audio in the
vehicle:
1. Press
b/g.
2. Say “Transfer Call.”
Transferring Audio to the
Bluetooth System from a Cell
Phone
During a call with the audio on the
cell phone, press
b/g. The audio
transfers to the vehicle. If the audio
does not transfer to the vehicle,
use the audio transfer feature on
the cell phone. See your cell phone
manufacturer's user guide for more
information.

The heating, cooling, and ventilation in the vehicle can be controlled with
this system.

5. Select the highest fan speed.
6. Close the windows after thehot air has escaped.
7. Once the vehicle's interior temperature is below the outside
temperature, select

for faster cooling.
Using recirculation for long periods
of time could cause the air inside
the vehicle to become too dry.
To prevent this from happening,
after the inside of the vehicle has
cooled, turn the recirculation
mode off.
The air conditioning system
removes moisture from the air, so
water might drip under the vehicle
while idling or after turning off the
engine. This is normal.
@(Recirculation): Press to turn
the recirculation mode on or off.
An indicator light comes on when
recirculation is on. When the engine
is turned off, the recirculation mode
automatically turns off and must be
re‐selected when the engine is
turned on again.
This mode recirculates and helps
to quickly cool the air inside the
vehicle. It can be used to prevent
outside air and odors from entering
the vehicle.
The recirculation mode cannot be
used with floor, defrost, or defogging
modes. If recirculation is selected in
these modes, the indicator flashes
three times and turns off. The air
conditioning also comes on when
this mode is activated unless the
outside air temperature is less than
4°C (40°F). While in recirculation
mode the windows can fog when
the weather is cold and damp. To clear the fog, select either the
defog or defrost mode and increase
the fan speed.
REAR (Rear Climate Control):
Press to turn the rear heating and
air conditioning on or off. See
Rear
Climate Control System (Rear
Climate Control Only) on page 8‑10
or Rear Climate Control System
(Rear Climate with Rear Seat Audio)
on page 8‑11.
Rear Window Defogger
The rear window defogger uses a
warming grid to remove fog from
the rear window.
1(Rear Window Defogger):
Press to turn the rear window
defogger on or off. The rear window
defogger stays on for about
10 minutes, before automatically
turning off. The defogger will
also turn off when the engine is
turned off.

the vehicle until all the windows
are clear.
For vehicles with heated outside
rearview mirrors, fog or frost is
cleared from the surface of the
mirror when the rear window defog
button is pressed.
Notice: Do not use a razor blade
or sharp object to clear the inside
rear window. Do not adhere
anything to the defogger grid
lines in the rear glass. These
actions may damage the rear
defogger. Repairs would not be
covered by your warranty.

Rear Climate Control System (Rear Climate with Rear

For vehicles with the rear climate
control system, the controls are
located on the rear of the center
console.Press the REAR button on the
front climate control system to turn
the rear climate control system on
or off. The system also turns on if
any of the rear controls, except
C,
are pressed. An indicator comes on
when the rear system is on.
The system can also be turned off,
by pressing and holding
C. Mimic Mode:
This mode matches
the rear climate control to the front
climate control settings. It comes on
when REAR is pressed.
Independent Mode: This mode
directs rear seating airflow
according to the settings of the
rear controls. It comes on when
any rear control is adjusted.
DandC(Fan Control): Press the
fan up or down buttons to increase
or decrease the fan speed.
Temperature Control: Press +
or −to increase or decrease
the air temperature. The
temperature settings will display
in 0‐12 increments, going from the
coolest (0) to the warmest (12)
setting.
