In Brief 23
Lane Keep Assist (LKA)
If equipped, LKA may help avoid
crashes due to unintentional lane
departures. It may assist by gently
turning the steering wheel if the
vehicle approaches a detected lane
marking without using a turn signal
in that direction. It may also provide
a Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
alert as the lane marking is crossed.
The system will not assist or alert if
it detects that you are actively
steering. Override LKA by turning
the steering wheel. LKA uses a
camera to detect lane markings
between 60 km/h (37 mph) and
180 km/h (112 mph).
SeeLane Departure Warning (LDW)
0 267 andLane Keep Assist
(LKA) 0267.
Lane Change Alert (LCA)
If equipped, the LCA system is a
lane-changing aid that assists
drivers with avoiding lane change
crashes that occur with moving
vehicles in the side blind zone (or
spot) areas or with vehicles rapidly
approaching these areas from behind. The LCA warning display
will light up in the corresponding
outside side mirror and will flash if
the turn signal is on. The Side Blind
Zone Alert (SBZA) system is
included as part of the LCA system.
See
Side Blind Zone Alert (SBZA)
0 264 andLane Change Alert
(LCA) 0265.
Surround Vision
If equipped, views around the
vehicle display in the infotainment
display to aid with parking and
low-speed maneuvers.
See “Surround Vision” under
Assistance Systems for Parking or
Backing 0255.
Front Vision Camera
If equipped, a view of the area in
front of the vehicle displays on the
infotainment display to aid with
parking and low-speed maneuvers.
See “Front Vision Camera” under
Assistance Systems for Parking or
Backing 0255.
Rear Vision
Camera (RVC)
If equipped, RVC displays a view of
the area behind the vehicle on the
infotainment display when the
vehicle is shifted into R (Reverse) to
aid with parking and low-speed
backing maneuvers.
See Assistance Systems for Parking
or Backing 0255.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
(RCTA) System
If equipped, the RCTA system uses
a triangle with an arrow displayed
on the infotainment display to warn
of traffic behind your vehicle that
may cross your vehicle's path while
in R (Reverse). In addition, beeps
will sound, or the driver seat will
pulse.
See Assistance Systems for Parking
or Backing 0255.

24 In Brief
Parking Assist
If equipped, Rear Parking
Assist (RPA) uses sensors on the
rear bumper to assist with parking
and avoiding objects while in
R (Reverse). It operates at speeds
less than 8 km/h (5 mph). RPA may
display a warning triangle on the
Rear Vision Camera screen and a
graphic on the instrument cluster to
provide the object distance. In
addition, multiple beeps or seat
pulses may occur if very close to an
object.
The vehicle may also have the Front
Parking Assist system.
SeeAssistance Systems for Parking
or Backing 0255.
Power Outlets
The vehicle has two 12-volt
accessory power outlets, which can
be used to plug in electrical
equipment, such as a cell phone or
MP3 player. The power outlets are located:
.
On the center stack below the
climate controls.
. In the rear cargo area.
To use the outlets, remove the
cover.
See Power Outlets 0121.
Universal Remote System
If equipped, the Universal Home
Remote System allows for garage
door openers, security systems, and
home automation devices to be
programmed to work with these
buttons in the vehicle. See
Universal Remote
System 0165.
Sunroof
If equipped, the ignition must be in
ON/RUN or ACC/ACCESSORY,
or in Retained Accessory
Power (RAP) to operate the sunroof.
See Ignition Positions 0225 and
Retained Accessory Power
(RAP) 0230.

Other Vehicle Lane Changes
ACC will not detect a vehicle ahead
until it is completely in the lane. The
brakes may need to be manually
applied.
Do Not Use ACC on Hills and
When Towing a Trailer
Do not use ACC when driving on
steep hills or when towing a trailer.
ACC will not detect a vehicle in thelane while driving on steep hills. The
driver will often need to take over
acceleration and braking on steep
hills, especially when towing a
trailer. If the brakes are applied, the
ACC disengages.
Disengaging ACC
There are three ways to
disengage ACC:
.
Step lightly on the brake pedal.
. Press
*.
. Press
J.
Erasing Speed Memory
The cruise control set speed is
erased from memory if
Jis
pressed or if the ignition is
turned off. Cleaning the Sensing System
The camera sensor on the
windshield behind the rearview
mirror and the radar sensors on the
front of the vehicle can become
blocked by snow, ice, dirt, or mud.
These areas need to be cleaned for
ACC to operate properly.
For cleaning instructions, see
“Washing the Vehicle”
under
Exterior Care 0358.
System operation may also be
limited under snow, heavy rain,
or road spray conditions.

Front Vision Camera
If equipped, a view of the area in
front of the vehicle displays. The
view displays after shifting from R (Reverse) to a forward gear, or by
touching CAMERA in the
infotainment display, and when the
vehicle is moving forward slower
than 8 km/h (5 mph). If equipped,
the Front Vision Camera also
displays when the Parking Assist
system detects an object within
30 cm (12 in).
{Warning
The camera(s) do not display
children, pedestrians, bicyclists,
crossing traffic, animals, or any
other object outside of the
cameras’
field of view, below the
bumper, or under the vehicle.
Shown distances may be different
from actual distances. Do not
drive or park the vehicle using
only these camera(s). Always
check behind and around the
vehicle before driving. Failure to
use proper care may result in
injury, death, or vehicle damage. Parking Assist
With RPA, and if equipped with FPA,
as the vehicle moves at speeds of
less than 8 km/h (5 mph) the
sensors on the bumpers may detect
objects up to 2.5 m (8 ft) behind the
vehicle and 1.2 m (4 ft) in front of the
vehicle within a zone 25 cm (10 in)
high off the ground and below
bumper level. These detection
distances may be shorter during
warmer or humid weather. Blocked
sensors will not detect objects and
can also cause false detections.
Keep the sensors clean of mud, dirt,
snow, ice, and slush; and clean
sensors after a car wash in freezing
temperatures.
{Warning
The Parking Assist system does
not detect children, pedestrians,
bicyclists, animals, or objects
located below the bumper or that
are too close or too far from the
vehicle. It is not available at
speeds greater than 8 km/h
