If the oil is below the L mark for the L6 engine or
the cross-hatched area at the tip of the dipstick
for the V8 engine, you will need to add at least one
quart/liter of oil. But you must use the right kind.
This section explains what kind of oil to use.
For engine oil crankcase capacity, seeCapacities
and Specications on page 502.
Notice:Do not add too much oil. If the engine
has so much oil that the oil level gets above
the cross-hatched area (F) that shows the
proper operating range for the L6 engine or
above the cross-hatched area for the
V8 engine, the engine could be damaged.SeeEngine
Compartment Overview
on page 390for the
location of the engine oil
ll cap.
Be sure to add enough oil to put the level
somewhere in the proper operating range.
Push the dipstick all the way back in when you
are through.

When rotating your tires, always use the correct
rotation pattern shown here.
After the tires have been rotated, adjust the front
and rear ination pressures as shown on the
Tire and Loading Information label. SeeLoading
Your Vehicle on page 349, for an example of
the label and its location on your vehicle.
The Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS)
sensors will need to be reset after a tire rotation.
See “TPMS Sensor Identication Codes” under
Tire Pressure Monitor System on page 448.Make certain that all wheel nuts are properly
tightened. See “Wheel Nut Torque” under
Capacities and Specications on page 502.
{CAUTION:
Rust or dirt on a wheel, or on the parts to
which it is fastened, can make wheel nuts
become loose after time. The wheel could
come off and cause an accident. When
you change a wheel, remove any rust or
dirt from places where the wheel attaches
to the vehicle. In an emergency, you can
use a cloth or a paper towel to do this;
but be sure to use a scraper or wire brush
later, if needed, to get all the rust or dirt
off. SeeChanging a Flat Tire on page 465.
454

{CAUTION:
Incorrect wheel nuts or improperly
tightened wheel nuts can cause the wheel
to come loose and even come off. This
could lead to an accident. Be sure to use
the correct wheel nuts. If you have to
replace them, be sure to get new original
equipment wheel nuts. Stop somewhere
as soon as you can and have the nuts
tightened with a torque wrench to the
proper torque specication. See
Capacities and Specifications on page 502
for wheel nut torque specication.Notice:Improperly tightened wheel nuts can
lead to brake pulsation and rotor damage.
To avoid expensive brake repairs, evenly
tighten the wheel nuts in the proper sequence
and to the proper torque specication. See
Capacities and Specifications on page 502for
the wheel nut torque specication.
13. Use the wrench to
tighten the wheel
nuts rmly in a
crisscross sequence
as shown.
