When the indicator in the DUAL
button is off, both sides adjust to the
same temperature.
Press the DUAL button to select
dual temperature control mode (see
page ).
This button turns the air
conditioning on and of f . The
indicator above the button is on
when the A/C is on.
On EX with Leather and EX-V6
models, see page f or automatic
climate control and semi-automatic
operation inf ormation.
Select the f an speed by pressing the
A/C button to view the display, then
press any of the f an control icons.
Turning this dial clockwise increases
the temperature of the airflow.
The driver and passenger can select
independent temperature settings.Press the DUAL button. The
indicator in the button will come on.
The driver and passenger can each
select the temperature control
buttons ( or ) to the
desired setting.
Turn this dial to increase or decrease
the fan speed and airflow.
Select the f an speed by pressing the
fan control buttons ( or ).
The f an speed is shown by vertical
bars in the display. Push the DUAL button. When the indicator in the button is on, turn the
dials to adjust the temperature. 113

Press the A/C button to turn the air
conditioningonandoff.Youwillsee
A/C ON or A/C OFF in the display.The outside air intakes f or the
heating and cooling system are at
the base of the windshield. Keep this
area clear of leaves and other debris.
Thesystemshouldbeleftinfresh
air mode under almost all conditions.
Keeping the system in recirculation
mode, particularly with the A/C of f ,
can cause the windows to fog up.
Switch to recirculation mode when
driving through dusty or smoky
conditions, then return to fresh air
mode.This button turns the rear window
def ogger of f and on (see page ).
Use the mode control buttons or
icons to select the vents the air f lows
f rom. Some air will f low f rom the
dashboard corner vents in all modes.
Each time you press the MODE
button, the display shows the mode
selected.
Press the A/C button to view the
display, then touch any of the mode
icons on the display.
Press the A/C button to view the
display. Touching ON or OFF in the
display turns the air conditioning on
andoff.YouwillseeA/CONorA/C
OFF in the display.
When you turn the A/C of f , the
system cannot regulate the inside
temperature if you set the
temperature control buttons below
the outside temperature. When the recirculation indicator is
on, air f rom the vehicle’s interior is
sent throughout the system again.
When the indicator is off, air is
brought in f rom the outside of the
vehicle (fresh air mode).

Air conditioning places an extra load
on the engine. Watch the engine
coolant temperature gauge (see page). If it moves near the red zone,
turn of f the A/C until the gauge
reads normally.
Press the A/C button, and the
manual A/C screen appears.
Select the desired mode and the
f an speed icons appear on the
display.
Adjustthewarmthwiththe
temperature buttons ( or ).
Turn on the A/C by pressing the
button. The indicator above the
button comes on when a f an speed
is selected. The display shows
A/C ON.
Make sure the temperature is set
to maximum cool.

If the outside air is humid, select
Recirculation mode. If the outside
air is dry, select f resh air mode.
Set the f an to the desired speed.Press the A/C button, and the

Air conditioning, as it cools, removes
moisture from the air. When used in
combination with the heater, it
makes the interior warm and dry.
Once the engine is warmed up, this
setting is suitable f or all driving
conditions.To remove f og f rom the inside of the
windows:
When you switch to another mode
f rom , the A/C stays on.
Press the A/C button to turn it of f .
Turn the fan on.
Turn on the air conditioning.
Select and fresh air mode.
Adjust the temperature to your
pref erence.
Set the f an to the desired speed, or
high f or f aster def rosting.
Select . The system
automatically switches to f resh air
mode and turns on the A/C. The
A/C indicator will not come on if it
was off to start with.
Adjust the temperature so the
airf low f eels warm.
Select to help clear the
rear window.
To increase airf low to the
windshield, close the corner vents.
To cool the interior with MAX A/C:
Set the f an to the desired speed.
Select the MAX A/C mode. The
system automatically turns on the
A/C, selects and switches
to recirculation mode.
Make sure the temperature is set
to maximum cool.

weight and rolling resistance.
Frequent cleaning helps your f uel
mileage and reduces the chance of

Always drive in the highest gear
possible. Try to maintain a constant speed.

speed up, your vehicle uses extra

Combine several short trips into

The air conditioning puts an extra
load on the engine which makes it
usemorefuel.Usethefresh-air
ventilation when possible.

Make turns more slowly and wider
than normal. The trailer tracks a
smaller arc than your vehicle, and it
canhitorrunoversomethingthe
vehicle misses. Allow more time and
distance f or braking. Do not brake or
turn suddenly as this could cause the
trailer to jackknif e or turn over.
The added weight, length, and
height of a trailer will af f ect your
vehicle’s handling and perf ormance,
so driving with a trailer requires
some special driving skills and
techniques.
Foryoursafetyandthesafetyof
others,taketimetopracticedriving
maneuvers bef ore heading f or the
open road, and f ollow the guidelines
below.
Drive slower than normal in all
driving situations, and obey posted
speed limits f or vehicles with trailers.
Do not exceed 55 mph (88 km/h). At
higher speeds, the trailer may sway
or af f ect vehicle handling. If you
have an automatic transmission, use
D position when towing a trailer on
level roads. When climbing hills, closely watch
your temperature gauge. If it nears
the red (hot) mark, turn the air
conditioning of f , reduce speed and, if
necessary, pull to the side of the
road to let the engine cool.
If the automatic transmission shif ts
f requently while going up a hill, shif t
to D .If youmuststopwhenfacinguphill,
use the f oot brake or parking brake.
Do not try to hold the vehicle in
placebypressingontheaccelerator,
as this can cause the automatic
transmission to overheat.
When driving down hills, reduce
your speed, and shif t down to 2nd
gear. Do not ‘‘ride’’ the brakes, and
remember, it will take longer to slow
downandstopwhentowingatrailer.
Crosswinds and air turbulence
caused by passing trucks can disrupt
your steering and cause trailer
swaying. When being passed by a
large vehicle, keep a constant speed,
and steer straight ahead. Do not try
to make quick steering or braking
corrections.
