Press the SOUND (TUNE) knob
repeatedly to display the BASS,
TREBLE, FADER, BALANCE, and
SVC (speed-sensitive volume
compensation) settings. Eachmodeisshowninthedisplayas
it changes. Turn the TUNE knob to
adjust the setting to your liking.
You can use the instrument panel
brightness control knob to adjust the
illumination of the audio system (see
page ). The audio system
illuminates when the parking lights
are on, even if the radio is turned of f .
This f unction is set to MID as the
def ault setting when the vehicle
leaves the factory.
The SVC has f our modes; SVC OFF,
SVC LOW, SVC MID, and SVC
HIGH. Turn the TUNE knob to adjust the setting to your liking. If
you f eel the sound is too loud,
choose low. If you f eel the sound is
too quiet, choose high.
The SVC mode controls the volume
based on vehicle speed. The f aster
you go, the louder the audio volume
becomes. As you slow down, the
audio volume decreases.
When the level reaches the center,
you will see ‘‘C’’ in the display.

Adjusts the side-to-
side strength of the sound. The system will return to the audio
display about 10 seconds af ter you

To load or play a disc, the ignition
switch must be in the ACCESSORY

playing a disc in MP3, you will see

f olders, or up to 255 tracks/f iles.
You operate the disc player with the
same controls used f or the radio. To
select the disc player, press the CD
button. You will see ‘‘CD’’ in the
display.
If a f ile on an MP3 or WMA disc is
protected by digital rights
management (DRM), the audio unit
displays UNSUPPORTED, and then
skips to the next f ile. Sampling f requency:

Video CDs and DVDs do not work in

disc slot. The drive will pull the disc
intherestof thewaytoplayit.You
operate the disc player with the
same controls used f or the radio.
The number of the current track is
showninthedisplay.Whenplayinga
disc in MP3 or WMA, the numbers
of the current f older and f ile are
shown. The system will continuously
play a disc until you change modes.
You cannot load and play 3-inch
(8-cm)discsinthissystem.

For inf ormation on how to handle
and protect compact discs, see page. You can see the album, artist, and
track name in the display. If a disc is
recorded in MP3 or WMA, you can
see the f older and f ile name, and the
artist, album, and track tag.
Each time you press the TITLE
button, the display shows you the
text data on a disc, if the disc was
recorded with text data.

To adjust bass
and treble, select BASS or TREBLE,
andpressENTERontheinterface
selector. The current setting is
shownonthedisplay.Turnthe
interf ace knob to the desired level,
and enter your selection by pressing
ENTER on the interf ace selector. These
modes adjust the strength of the
sound coming f rom each speaker.
Fader adjusts the f ront-to-back
strength, while balance adjusts the
side-to-side strength. To adjust f ader
and balance, select FADER or
BALANCE, then press ENTER on
the interf ace selector. The current
setting is shown on the screen. Turn
the interface knob to the desired
level, and enter your selection by
pressing ENTER on the interf ace
selector. To equalize the f ader or
balance, turn the interf ace knob until
the marks on the sound grid come to
the center of the adjustment bar.
To adjust the
strength of the sound f rom the
subwoof er speaker, select it and
press ENTER on the interf ace
selector. Turn the interf ace knob to
the desired level, and enter your
selection by pressing ENTER on the
interf ace selector. The SVC mode controls the volume
based on vehicle speed. The f aster

becomes. As you slow down, the
audio volume decreases.

Your vehicle’s audio system has an
in-dash disc changer with the same
controls used f or the radio. To
operate the disc changer, the ignition
switch must be in the ACCESSORY
(I) or the ON (II) position.
The disc changer can play these disc
formats:CD (CD-DA)
MP3/WMA The disc packages or jackets should
have one of these marks.
When playing a disc in MP3, you will
see ‘‘MP3’’ in the display. In WMA
f ormat, ‘‘WMA’’ will appear in the
display.
The changer can also play MP3 or
WMA format (see page ). If a f ile on an MP3 or WMA disc is
protected by digital rights
management (DRM), the audio
system displays UNSUPPORTED in
the center display, and then skips to
the next f ile.
Some CD-DA and CD-ROM mixed
discs are not playable.
You cannot load and play 3-inch
(8-cm)discsinthissystem.
Video CDs and DVDs do not work in
this unit.

The VOL button adjusts the volume
up ( ) or down ( ). Press the top
or bottom of the button, hold it until
the desired volume is reached, then
release it.
Three controls f or the audio system
are mounted in the steering wheel
hub. These let you control basic
f unctions without removing your
hand f rom the wheel. The MODE button changes the
mode. Pressing the button
repeatedly selects FM1, FM2, AM,
or disc (if a disc(s) is loaded). On
models with satellite radio system,
you can also select XM1 and XM2.
If you are listening to the radio, use
the CH button to change stations.
Each time you press the top ( ) of
the button, the system goes to the
next preset station on the band you
are listening to. Press the bottom
( ) to go back to the previous
station.If youpressandholdtheCH
button ( ) or ( ), the system goes
into the skip (seek) mode. It stops
when it finds a station with a strong
signal.If you are playing a disc, the system
skips to the beginning of the next
track (f ile in MP3 or WMA f ormat)
each time you press the top ( ) of
the CH button. Press the bottom
( ) to return to the beginning of the
current track/f ile. Press it twice to
return to the previous track/f ile.
You will see the track/f ile number
and the elapsed time. If the disc has
text data or is compressed in MP3 or
WMA, you can also see any other
inf ormation (track title, f ile name,
f older name, etc.).
