uuOpening and Closing the Windows uOpening/Closing the Power Windows
Controls
To open: Unlock the driver’s door with the
key. Within 10 seconds of returning the key to
the central position, turn the key in the unlock
direction and hold it there.
To close: Lock the driver’s door with the key.
Within 10 seconds of re turning the key to the
central position, turn the key in the lock
direction and hold it there.
Release the key to stop the windows/
moonroof at the desired position. If you want
further adjustment, repeat the same
operation.

You cannot take the key out unless the shift lever is
in
( P.
If you open the driver’s door when the key is in LOCK
( 0 or ACCESSORY (q, a warning buzzer will sound
to remind you to take the key out.
When this happens, the fo llowing messages appear
on the multi-information display:
•In LOCK ( 0: Remove Key From Ignition
•In ACCESSORY (q: Turn Ignition Switch To Lock
(0) Position
If the key won’t turn from LOCK
( 0 to ACCESSORY
(q, turn the key while moving the steering wheel left
and right. The steering wh eel will unlock, allowing
the key to turn.
3WARNING
Removing the key from the ignition switch
while driving locks the steering. This can
cause you to lose control of the vehicle.
Remove the key from the ignition switch
only when parked.

If you leave the vehicle for 30 to 60 minutes with the shift lever in (P*1 and the
power mode in ACCESSORY, the vehicle automa tically goes into the mode similar to
VEHICLE OFF (LOCK) to avoid draining the battery.
When in this mode:
The steering wheel does not lock.
You cannot lock or unlock doors with th e remote transmitter or the smart entry
system.
Press the ENGINE START/STOP button to switch the mode to VEHICLE OFF (LOCK).
If you open the driver’s door when the power mode is set to ACCESSORY, a warning
buzzer sounds.

If the power mode does not change from VEHICLE

The headlights automatically co me on when the wipers are used several times within
a certain number of intervals wi th the headlight switch in AUTO.
The headlights automatically go off a few minutes later if the wipers are stopped.
The headlights, all other exterior lights, an d the instrument panel lights turn off 15
seconds after you remove the key or set the power mode to VEHICLE OFF (LOCK),
take the remote with you, and close the driver’s door. u You can change the headlight auto off timer setting.

If you turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0*1 with the headlight switch on, but do
not open the door, the lights turn off after 10 minutes (three minutes, if the switch
is in the AUTO position).
The lights turn on again when you unlock or open the driver’s door. If you unlock
the door, but do not open it within 15 seconds, the lights go off. If you open the
driver’s door, you will hear a lights on reminder chime.
Fog Lights*
When the low beam headlights are on, turn
the fog light switch on to use the fog lights.
*1: Models with the smart entry system have an ENGINE START/STOP button instead of an
ignition switch.

When the fog lights are on, the indicator in the
instrument pane l will be on.
They go off when the headlights turn off, or when
the daytime running lights are on.

the headlight lever to low beam.

The auto high-beam indicator (Green) comes
on.
■Temporary cancellation
The auto high-beam operation is temporarily canceled while:
• You are continuously driving at a speed below 15 mph (24 km/h).
• The vehicle speed is below 6 mph (10 km/h).
• The windshield wipers run at high speed for more than a few seconds.
The system operation resumes once the condit ion that caused it to cancel improves.
■To Operate the System1To Operate the System
For the auto high-beam to work properly:
•Do not place an object that reflects light on the
dashboard.
•Keep the windshield around the camera clean.
When cleaning the windshield, be careful not to
apply the windshield cleanser to the camera lens.
•Do not attach an object, sticker or film in the area
around the camera.
•Do not touch the camera lens.
If the camera receives a st rong impact, or repairing of
the area near the camera is required, consult a dealer.
To help reduce the likel ihood that high interior
temperatures will cause the camera system to shut
off, when parking, find a shady area or face the front
of the vehicle away from the sun.
If you use a reflective sun shade, do not allow it to
cover the camera housing. Covering the camera can
concentrate heat on the camera.
If the Can Not Operate: message appears:
Park your vehicle in a safe place. Wipe away debris
blocking the windshield, then start driving again. If
the message remains on even after driving for a while
with the clean windshield, have your vehicle checked
by a dealer.

When you push the lever down to AUTO, the
windshield wipers sweep once, and go into
the automatic mode.
The wipers operate intermittently, at low
speed, or at high speed and stops in
accordance with the am ount of rainfall the
rainfall sensor detects.
■AUTO sensitivity adjustment
When in AUTO, you can also adjust the
rainfall sensor sensitivity using the adjustment
ring.

■Automatic Intermittent Wipers*1 Wipers and Washers
If the wipers stop operating due to any obstacle such
as the build-up of snow, park the vehicle in a safe
place.
Rotate the wiper switch to OFF, and turn the ignition
switch to ACCESSORY
( q or LOCK (0*1, then
remove the obstacle.
1 Automatic Intermittent Wipers*
The rainfall sensor is in the location shown below.
Do not put the wiper lever in AUTO when cleaning
the windshield or driving through a car wash. If the
wiper lever is in AUTO , and the power mode is in ON,
the rainfall sensor may re spond to your hand or car
wash liquids, and th e wipers may operate
automatically.

Driving Position Memory System*
You can store two driver’s seat positions with the driving position memory system.
When you unlock and open the driver’s door with a remote, the seat adjusts
automatically to one of the two preset positions.
The multi-information display
* shows you which remote you used to unlock the
vehicle when you enter.
• DRIVER 1 transmitter is linked to memory button 1.
• DRIVER 2 transmitter is linked to memory button 2.

Adjusting the Steering Wheel
The steering wheel height and distance from your body can be adjusted so that you
can comfortably grip the steering wheel in an appropriate driving posture.
1. Pull the steering wheel adjustment lever up.
u The steering wheel adjustment lever is
under the steering column.
2. Move the steering wheel up or down, and
in or out.
u Make sure you can see the instrument
panel gauges and indicators.
3. Push the steering wheel adjustment lever
down to lock the steering wheel in position.
u After adjusting the position, make sure
you have securely locked the steering
wheel in place by trying to move it up,
