Use the SKIP bar while an iPod is
playing to select passages and
change f iles.
Each time you press and
releasethe sideof theSEEK/
SKIP button, the system skips
f orward to the beginning of the next
f ile. Press and release the side
of thebuttontoskipbackwardtothe
beginning of the current f ile. Press it
again to skip to the beginning of the
previous f ile.
You can also select a file from any
list on the iPod menu: playlists,
artists, albums and songs, by using
the TUNE/SOUND knob. Push the
TUNE/SOUND knob to switch the
display to an iPod menu, then turn
the TUNE/SOUND knob to select a
desired list.Af ter you selected, wait f or a f ew
seconds until the display returns to
the previous screen. The iPod menu
is set. Pressing the TUNE/SOUND
knobcancelsthissettingmode
bef ore returning to a normal display.
Turn the TUNE/SOUND knob to
select an item. Af ter you selected,
wait f or a f ew seconds until the
display returns to the previous
screen. The system will then play the
first file on the selected item.
If you select ‘‘ALL’’ on either the
artists or albums list, all available
f iles on the selected list are played.

You can select any type of repeat and
shuf f le modes by using the RPT and
RDM buttons.
This feature
continuously plays a f ile. To activate
the repeat f eature, press the RPT
button. You will see ‘‘RPT’’ in the
display. To turn it of f , press the RPT
button again. This feature
plays all available f iles in a selected
list (playlists, artists, albums or
songs) in random order. To activate
theshuffleallfeature,pressthe
RDM button. You will see ‘‘RDM’’ in
thedisplay.Toturnitoff,pressand
hold the RDM button.
This feature
plays all available albums in a
selected list (playlists, artists, albums
or songs) in random order. The f iles
in each album are played in the
recorded order. To activate the
shuf f le album f eature, press the
RDM button repeatedly. You will see
‘‘F-RDM’’ in the display. To turn it
of f , press and hold the RDM button.
Each time you press the RDM
button, the mode changes f rom
shuf f le all play to shuf f le album play,
then to normal play. Available operating f unctions vary on
models or versions. Some f unctions
may not be available on the vehicle’s
audio system.

To play the radio, press the AM/FM
button. Press the CD button to
switch to the disc mode (if a disc is
loaded). Press the AUX button to
switch the audio mode between the
XM radio (if equipped) and iPod.
If you see an error message in the
display, see page .
You can disconnect the iPod at any
time when you see ‘‘OK to
Disconnect’’ message in the iPod
display. Always make sure you see
‘‘OK to Disconnect’’ message in the
iPod display bef ore you disconnect it.
Make sure to f ollow the iPod’s
instructions on how to disconnect
the dock connector f rom the USB
adapter cable.
The displayed message may
vary on models or versions. On
some models, there is no
message to disconnect.
When you disconnect the iPod while
it is playing, the display shows ‘‘USB
NO DATA.’’
If you reconnect the same iPod, the
system may begin playing where it
lef t of f , depending on what mode the
iPod is in when it is reconnected. :

If you see an error message on the
audio display while playing an iPod,
f ind the solution in the chart to the
right. If you cannot clear the error
message, take your vehicle to your
dealer.Error

Cause
There is a problem with the USB adapter unit.
Appears when the overcurrent protection
f eature of the system stops supplying power to
USB because an incompatible device is
connected. Disconnect the device. Then, turn
the audio system of f , and turn it on again. Do
not reconnect the device that caused the error.
Appears when the iPod is empty. Store some
f iles in the iPod.
Appears when an unsupported device is
connected. Disconnect the device.
Appears when an unsupported iPod is
connected. See page 134 for the specification
information for iPods. If it appears when a
supported iPod is connected, update the iPod
firmware to the newer version.

This audio system can select and
play the audio f iles on a USB f lash
memory device with the same
controls used f or the disc player. To
play a USB f lash memory device,
connect it to the USB adapter cable
in the console compartment, then
press the AUX button. The ignition
switch must be in the ACCESSORY
(I) or ON (II) position.
The audio system reads and plays
the audio f iles on the USB f lash
memory device in MP3, WMA or
AAC f ormats. Depending on the
f ormat, the display shows MP3,
WMA or AAC when a USB flash
memory device is playing. The USB
f lash memory device limit is up to
700 f olders or up to 65535 f iles. Only AAC f ormat f iles recorded
with iTunes are playable on this
audio unit.
Do not use an extension cable to
the USB adapter cable equipped
with your vehicle.
Do not keep a USB f lash memory
device in the vehicle. Direct
sunlight and high heat will damage
it.
We recommend backing up your
data bef ore playing a USB f lash
memory device.
Depending on the type and
number of f iles, it may take some
time bef ore they begin to play.
Depending on the sof tware the
f iles were made with, it may not be
possibletoplaysomefiles,or
display some text data.
The recommended USB f lash
memory devices are 256 Mbyte or
higher. Some digital audio players
maybecompatibleaswell.
Some USB f lash memory device
(such as devices with security lock-
out f eatures, etc.) will not work in
this audio unit.
Do not use a device such as a
card reader or hard drive as the
device or your f iles may be
damaged.

This f eature plays the
f iles within a USB f lash memory
device in random order. To active
random play, press the RDM button
twice. You will see RDM in the
display. Press and release the RDM
button to return to normal play. This
feature, when activated, plays all
f iles in the selected f older in random
order. To activate f older random,
press and release the RDM button.
You will see F-RDM in the display.
The system will then select and play
f iles randomly. This continues until
you deactivate f older random by
pressing and holding the RDM
button f or 2 seconds, or by selecting
a different folder with the TUNE
knob.
Each time you press and release the
RDM button, the mode changes
f rom f older random, to all random,
then to normal play. This feature samples all
f iles in the selected f older in the
order they are stored. To activate
the scan feature, press the SCAN
button. You will see ‘‘SCAN’’ in the
display. You will get a 10 second
sampling of each f ile in the f older.
Press and hold the SCAN button to
get out of the scan mode and play
the last f ile sampled.

samples the f irst f ile in each f older in
the order they are stored. To
activate the folder scan feature,
press the SCAN button repeatedly.
You will see ‘‘F-SCAN’’ in the display.
You will get a 10 second sampling of
each f irst f ile in the f older(s). Press
andholdtheSCANbuttontogetout
of the f older scan mode and play the
last f ile sampled.
Each time you press and release the
SCAN button, the mode changes
from file scan to folder scan, then to
normal play. To play the radio, press the AM/FM
button. Press the CD button to
switch to the disc mode (if a disc is
loaded). Press the AUX button to
switch the audio mode between the
USB or XM radio (if equipped).
You can disconnect the USB f lash
memory device in any time even if
the USB mode is selected on the
audio system. Always f ollow the USB
f lash memory device’s instructions
when you remove it.
When you disconnect the USB f lash
memory device while it is playing,
the display shows ‘‘USB NO DATA.’’
If you reconnect the same USB f lash
memory device, the system will
begin playing where it lef t of f .If you see an error message in the

µ Each preset button’s f requency is
shown on the bottom of the audio
display.
If you do nothing, the system will
then scan f or the next strong station
andplayitfor10seconds.Whenit
plays a station you want to listen to,
press the SCAN button again.
Each preset button can
store one f requency on AM and two
f requencies on FM.
The seek f unction
searches up and down f rom the
current f requency to f ind a station
with a strong signal. To activate it,
press and hold the or side of
the TUNE bar until you hear a beep,
then release it.
The scan f unction samples
all stations with strong signals on the
selected band. To activate it, press
the SCAN button, then release it.
You will see SCAN in the display.
The system will scan f or a station
with a strong signal. When it f inds
one, it will stop and play that station
f or about 10 seconds. Select the desired band, AM or
FM. FM1 and FM2 let you store
six stations each.
Usethetune,seek,orscan
function to tune the radio to a
desired station.
Pick a preset button, and hold it
until you hear a beep.
Repeat steps 1 through 3 to store a
total of six stations on AM and
twelve stations on FM.
