Push the button between the center
vents to turn on the hazard warning
lights (f our-way f lashers). This
causes all outside turn signals and
both indicators in the instrument
panel to f lash. Use the hazard
warning lights if you need to park in
a dangerous area near heavy traffic,
or if your vehicle is disabled.The rear window def ogger clears f og,
frost,andthinicefromthewindow.
Push the def ogger button to turn it
onandoff.Pushingthisbuttonalso
turns the mirror heaters on and of f .
The indicator in the button comes on
to show the def ogger is on. If you do
not turn it of f , the def ogger will shut
itself of f af ter 10 to 30 minutes
(depending on the ambient
temperature). It also shuts of f when
you turn of f the ignition switch. You have to turn it on again when you
restart the vehicle.
The def ogger will shut itself of f
within about 20 minutes.
Make sure the rear window is clear
and you have good visibility bef ore
starting to drive.
The def ogger wires on the inside of
the rear window can be accidentally
damaged. When cleaning the glass,
always wipe side-to-side.
Pushing this button also turns the
mirror heaters on or of f . For more
inf ormation, see page .

Push the lever under the steering
column all the way down.Push the lever up to lock the
steering wheel in position.
Make sure you have securely
locked the steering wheel in place
by trying to move it up, down, in,
and out.
Make any steering wheel
adjustments bef ore you start driving.
Move the steering wheel up or
down, and in or out, so it points
toward your chest, not toward
your f ace. Make sure you can see
the instrument panel gauges and

Use this position
only to start the engine. The switch
returns to the ON (II) position when
you let go of the key.
You will hear a reminder beeper if
you leave the key in the ignition
switch in the LOCK (0) or the
ACCESSORY (I) position and open
the driver’s door. Remove the key to
turn of f the beeper.
The ignition switch has f our
positions: LOCK (0), ACCESSORY
(I), ON (II), and START (III). TheshiftlevermustbeinPark
bef ore you can remove the key f rom
the ignition switch. You will also see a ‘‘REMOVE KEY’’
message on the multi-information
display.
You can insert or
remove the key only in this position.
To turn the key to the LOCK (0)
position, the shif t lever must be in
Park, and you must push the key in
slightly. This is the normal key
position when driving. Several of the
indicators on the instrument panel
come on as a test when you turn the
ignition switch f rom the
ACCESSORY (I) to the ON (II)
position. If the f ront wheels are turned, the
anti-theft lock may make it difficult
to turn the key. Firmly turn the
steering wheel to the lef t or right as
you turn the key.
You can
operate the audio system and the
accessory power sockets in this
position.
If you turn the ignition key to the
ACCESSORY (I) position with the
driver’s door closed, you will see an
‘‘ACCESSORY (I) POSITION’’
message on the multi-inf ormation
display to inf orm you of the key
position.

The dashboard switches on the lef t
of the steering column allow you to
open or close the power sliding doors.
The MAIN switch on the dashboard
controls power to the sliding doors.The door pillar switches f or the rear
passengers are located on the door
pillar trim panel in f ront of the power
sliding door on both sides. To close a sliding door, push and
release the top of the switch.
To stop a door, push either the top or
bottom of the switch. The door will
stop and you will hear three beeps.
Push the switch again to resume
movement.
When the MAIN switch is in the
OFF position, you have to operate
the doors manually. To open a power sliding door, push
and release the bottom of the
appropriate switch. If you f orget to
unlock the door, you may hear three
beeps. Unlock the door, and try
again.

The outside mirrors are heated to
remove fog and frost. With the
ignition switch in the ON (II)
position, turn on the heaters by
pressing the button. The indicator in
the button comes on as a reminder.
Press the button again to turn the
heaters off. Pressing this button also
turns the rear window def ogger on
and off.To apply the parking brake, push the
pedal down with your f oot. To
release it, push on the pedal again.
The parking brake indicator on the
instrument panel should go out when
the parking brake is f ully released
(see page ).
If the outside temperature is below
41°F (5°C), the heated mirror
function will come on automatically
f or 10 minutes when you turn the
ignition switch to the ON (II)
position.

On LX modelsThe f ront beverage holders are
located between the f ront seats.
The removable center console has
beverage holders f or the f ront and
second row seat passengers.
You can store small items in the
utility tray on the instrument panel.
Open the tray by pulling on the
bottom edge. A beverage holder is
also equipped inside. To use the
beverage holder, pull beverage
holder arm until it contacts the f ront
of the tray. Close the tray with a firm
push.

The beverage holders f or the third
row seat passengers are in the
armrests on the rear side panels.
The multi-f unctional center seat has
a beverage holder on the back of the
seat-back.
To use the beverage holder, f old the
seat-back by pulling the seat-back
strap (see page ). Each rear sliding door has an
integrated sunshade. To use a
sunshade,holdthetabonthetop
and pull the sunshade all the way up.
Insert the holes on the sunshade into
the hooks on the window f rame. To
store the shade, unhook it, and let it
retract all the way down.

To use the sun visor, pull it down.
Whenusingthesunvisorforthe
side window, remove the support rod
f rom the clip, and swing it out.
The sunglasses holder uses a convex
mirror f or its bottom panel. You can
see all the vehicle passengers in this
mirror. To use the mirror, open the
sunglasses holder f ully, push it to the
f irst detent, and release it.
To switch back to the sunglasses
holder, close the conversation mirror
and then open the sunglasses holder.
Some larger styles of sunglasses
may not f it in the holder.
You may also store small items in
thisholder.Makesuretheyare
small enough to let the holder close
and latch, and that they are not
heavy enough to cause the holder to
pop open while driving.
Make sure you put the sun visor
back in place when you are getting
into or out of the vehicle.

lights come on when you turn the
parking lights on. To adjust its
brightness, turn the select/reset
knob on the instrument panel.
