Tire and Wheel Replacement
Replace your tires with radials of the sa me size, load range, speed rating, and
maximum cold tire pressure ra ting (as shown on the tire's sidewall). Using tires of a
different size or construction can cause ce rtain vehicle systems such as the ABS and
Vehicle Stability Assist
TM (VSA ®) system to work incorrectly.
It is best to replace all four tires at the same time. If that isn’t possible, replace the
front or rear tires in pairs.
Whenever you have a tire replaced or reset, make sure that the rubber valve stem is
replaced and that the TPMS sensor is trans ferred from the old valve stem to the new
one.
If you replace a wheel, make sure that the wheel’s specifications match those of the
original wheels.

Handling the Unexpected
If you replace a flat tire with the spare tire, the low tire pressure/TPMS indicator
comes on while you are driving. After driving for a few miles (kilometers), the
indicator will start blinking for a short time and then stay on. Tire Pressure
Monitor Problem appears on the driver informati on interface, but this is normal.
If you replace the tire with a specified regular tire, the warning message on the
driver information inte rface and the low tire pressure/TPMS indica tor will go off after
a few miles (kilometers).

The system cannot monitor th e pressure of the spare
tire. Manually check the spare tire pressure to be sure
that it is correct.
Use the TPMS specific whee ls. Each is equipped with
a tire pressure sensor mount ed inside the tire behind
the valve stem.

If the Low Tire Pressure/T ire Pressure Monitoring
System (TPMS) Indicator Comes On or Blinks
■Reasons for the indicator to come on or blink
A tire pressure is significantly low. If there is a problem with the TPMS
with Tire Fill Assist or the compact spare tire is installed, the indicator
blinks for about one minute, and then stays on.
■What to do when th e indicator comes on
Stop your vehicle in a safe place. Ch eck the tire pressure and adjust the
pressure to the specified level. The spec ified tire pressure is on a label on
the driver side doorjamb.
■What to do when the indicator blinks, then remains on
Have the tire inspected by a dealer as soon as possible. If the compact
spare tire causes the indica tor to blink, change the tire to a full-size tire.
The indicator goes off after driving for a few miles (kilometers).

NOTICE
Driving on an extremely unde rinflated tire can cause
it to overheat. An overheated tire can fail. Always
inflate your tires to the prescribed level.
TPMS with Tire Fill Assist provides visual and audible
assistance during tire pre ssure adjustment. With the
power mode in ON and the transmission in
( P, while
you adjust tire pressure up or down, the system alerts
you as follows:
Below recommended pressure: The beeper
sounds and exterior lights flash once every five
seconds.
At recommended pressure: The beeper sounds
and exterior lights flash ra pidly for ~ five seconds.
Above recommended pressure: The beeper
sounds and lights flash tw ice every two seconds.
When a certain amount of time has passed since
activation, Tire Fill Assist wi ll be canceled until you set
the power mode to OFF.
You cannot use Tire Fill Assist if the engine was
started by the remote engine start, or if there is a
malfunction in the system. If Tire Fill Assist does not
work, use a tire pressure gauge.
