WARNING:
To avoid the possibility of injury in case of an accident or a sudden stop, the glove box door should bekept closed when the car is in mo- tion.

CAUTION:
o Do not operate the switch continu- ously for an unnecessary length of time.
o Scraping ice from the mirror face could cause permanent damage.To remove any ice, use a sponge, soft cloth or approved de-icer.
WARNING:
Be careful when judging the size ordistance of any object seen in thepassenger side rear view mirror. It is a convex mirror with a curved sur- face. Any objects seen in this mirrorare closer than they appear.!
To adjust the position of either mirror:
1. Move the selecting switch to the
right or left to activate the adjustable mechanism for the corresponding door mirror.
2. Adjust mirror angle by depressing
the appropriate perimeter switch asillustrated. B510D01HP-GAT OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR HEATER (If Installed) The outside rearview mirror heater is actuated in connection with the rear window defroster. To heat the outsiderearview mirror glass, push in the switch for the rear window defroster. The rear- view mirror glass will be heated fordefrosting or defogging and will give you improved rear vision in inclement weather conditions. Push the switchagain to turn the heater off. The outside rearview mirror heater automatically turns itself off after 20 minutes.

B510C01A-AAT FOLDING THE OUTSIDE REAR- VIEW MIRRORS To fold the outside rearview mirrors, push them towards the rear.The outside rearview mirrors can be folded rearward for parking in narrow areas.
WARNING:
Do not adjust or fold the outside rearview mirrors while the vehicle is moving. This could result in loss ofcontrol, and an accident which could cause death, serious injury or prop- erty damage.

HIGH-MOUNTED REAR STOP LIGHT

(If Installed) In addition to the lower-mounted rear stop lights on either side of the car, the high mounted rear stop light in the center of the rear window or inserted inthe rear spoiler also lights when the brakes are applied.

!WARNING:
Whenever leaving vehicle or parking always set the parking brake as far as possible and fully engage the vehicle's transaxle into the park po-sition. Vehicles not fully engaged in park with the parking brake set are at risk for moving inadvertently andinjuring yourself or others.
Releasing the parking brake To release the parking brake, first apply the foot brake and pull up the parkingbrake lever slightly. Secondly, depress the release button and lower the parking brake lever while holding the button.

3. Pull the support rod from the hood.

4. Hold the hood open with the support rod.

Make sure that the support rod has been released prior to closing thehood.
!
Before closing the hood, return the support rod to its clip to prevent it fromrattling. Lower the hood until it is about 1 ft. (30 cm) above the closed position and let it drop. Make sure that it locksinto place.
!WARNING:
o Always double check to be sure that the hood is firmly latched before driving away. If it is not latched, the hood could fly openwhile the vehicle is being driven, causing a total loss of visibility, which might result in an accident.
o The support rod must be inserted completely into the hole providedin the hood whenever you inspectthe engine compartment. This will prevent the hood from falling and possibly injuring you.
o Do not move the vehicle with the hood in the raised position, asvision is obstructed and the hoodcould fall or be damaged.

WARNING:
o Fuel vapors are dangerous. Be- fore refueling, always stop the en- gine and never allow sparks or open flames near the filler area. If you need to replace the filler cap,use a genuine Hyundai replace- ment part. If you open the fuel filler cap dur-ing high ambient temperatures, a slight "pressure sound" may be heard. This is normal and not acause for concern. Whenever you open the fuel filler cap, turn it slowly.!
REMOTE FUEL-FILLER LID RELEASE

The fuel-filler lid may be opened from inside the vehicle by pulling up on the fuel-filler lid opener located on the front floor area on the left side of the car. NOTE: If the fuel-filler lid will not open be- cause ice has formed around it, taplightly or push on the lid to break the ice and release the lid. Do not pry on the lid. If necessary, spray aroundthe lid with an approved de-icer fluid (do not use radiator anti-freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm placeand allow the ice to melt.

To open the trunk lid without using the key, pull up the lid release lever. To close, lower the trunk lid, then press down on it until it locks. To be sure thetrunk lid is securely fastened, check by trying to pull it up again.

TRUNK LID/TAIL GATE

WARNING:
The trunk lid or the tail gate should always be kept completely closedwhile the vehicle is in motion. If it is left open or ajar, poisonous exhaust gases may enter the car resulting inserious illiness or death to the occu- pants. See additional warnings con- cerning exhaust gases on page 2-2. Trunk Lid (4 Door)
o The trunk lid is opened by first turn-
ing the key clockwise to release the lock, then raising the door manually.
o To close, lower the trunk lid, then
press down on it until it locks. To besure the trunk lid is securely fas- tened, try to pull it up again.
Tail Gate (3 Door) To open the tail gate, unlock it by turning the key clockwise, then pull theoutside handle toward you. To close, lower the tail gate and shut firmly to engage the latch. Lock the tailgate by turning the key counterclock- wise. If the vehicle is equipped with centraldoor locking, the tail gate can be locked without a key. Push the front portion of the central door locking switch afterclosing the tail gate. If the tail gate is open when the front portion of the central door locking switchis pushed, the tail gate will be locked when it is fully closed.

To prevent damage to the goods or the vehicle, care should be taken when carrying fragile or bulky ob- jects in the luggage compartment.!
WARNING:
Avoid eye injury. DO NOT over- stretch. The luggage net ALWAYS keep your face and body out of its recoil path. DO NOT use when thestrap has visible signs of wear or damage.
When loading objects in the luggage compartment, use the four rings lo-cated in the luggage compartment to attach the luggage net as shown illus- tration. This will help prevent the ob-jects from sliding.

o Do not move the sun visor out to cover the side window if there isan item attended to it such as agarage door remote control, pens, air fresheners or the like. These objects could cause injury if thecurtain airbag is deployed.

To Adjust the Steering Wheel:
1. Push the lever downward to unlock.
2. Raise or lower the steering wheel to the desired position.
3. After adjustment, securely tighten the lever by pulling it upward.
WARNING:
Do not attempt to adjust the steering wheel while driving as this may re-sult in loss of control of the vehicle which may cause serious injury or death.

o Station Swapping - As an FM signal
weakens, another more powerful signal near the same frequency may begin to play. This is because your radio is designed to lock onto the clearest signal. If this occurs, selectanother station with a stronger sig- nal.
o Multi-Path Cancellation - Radio sig- nals being received from severaldirections can cause distortion or fluttering. This can be caused by adirect and reflected signal from the same station, or by signals from two stations with close frequencies. Ifthis occurs, select another station until the condition has passed.
o Fading - As your car moves away
from the radio station, the signal willweaken and sound will begin to fade. When this occurs, we suggest that you select another stronger sta- tion.
o Flutter/Static - Weak FM signals or large obstructions between thetransmitter and your radio can dis-turb the signal causing static or flut- tering noises to occur. Reducing the treble level may lessen this effectuntil the disturbance clears. B750B02Y-AAT Using a cellular phone or a two- way radio When a cellular phone is used inside the vehicle, noise may be produced from the audio equipment. This does not mean that something is wrong withthe audio equipment. In such a case, use the cellular phone at a place as far as possible from the audio equipment.!
CAUTION:
When using a communication sys- tem such as a cellular phone or a radio set inside the vehicle, a sepa-rate external antenna must be fitted. When a cellular phone or a radio set is used with an internal antennaalone, it may interfere with the vehicle's electrical system and ad- versely affect safe operation of thevehicle.
WARNING:
Don't use a cellular phone whenyou are driving, you must stop at asafe place to use a cellular phone.
