Features of your vehicle
Fuel filter warning light(Diesel engine)
This warning light illuminates for 3 sec-
onds after the ignition switch is set to the
ON position and then it will go out. If it
lights up whilst the engine is running, it
indicates that water has accumulated
inside the fuel filter. If this happens,
remove the water from the fuel filter. For
more Information, refer to “Fuel filter” insection 7.
Electric power steering(EPS) system warning light
This indicator light comes on after the
ignition key is turned to the ON positionand then it will go out. This light also comes on when the EPS
has some troubles. If it comes on whilst
driving, have your vehicle inspected by
an authorised HYUNDAI dealer.
Overspeed warning (if equipped)
Overspeed warning light
If you drive with the speed of 120 km/h or
more, the overspeed warning light will
blink. This is to prevent you from driving
your vehicle with overspeed. Overspeed warning chime (if equipped)
If you drive with the speed of 120 km/h or
more, the overspeed warning chime will
sound for about 5 seconds. This is to pre-
vent you from driving your vehicle with
overspeed.
CAUTION
When the fuel filter warning light is illuminated, engine power (vehicle speed & idle speed) may decrease.If you keep driving with the warning
light on, you can damage your vehi-cle's engine parts and injection sys-tem of the Common Rail. If thisoccurs, have your vehicle checkedby an authorised HYUNDAI dealer
as soon as possible.

NORMAL MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
The following maintenance services must be performed to ensure good emission control and performance. Keep receipts for all
vehicle emission services to protect your warranty. Where both mileage and time are shown, the frequency of service is deter-
mined by whichever occurs first. * 1
: Adjust alternator, water pump drive belt and air conditioner
drive belt (if equipped). Inspect and if necessary repair or
replace.

: Check the engine oil level and leak every 500 km or before
starting a long trip.
* 3
: If good quality petrol meeting Europe Fuel standards
(EN228) or equivalent, including fuel additives is not avail-
able, one bottle of additive is recommended. Additives are
available from your authorised HYUNDAI dealer along with
information on how to use them. Do not mix other additives.

: This maintenance schedule depends on fuel quality. It is
applicable only when using a qualified fuel <"EN590 or
equivalent">. If the diesel fuel specifications don't meet the
EN590, it must be replaced more frequently. HYUNDAI rec-
ommends "every 7,500km inspection, every 15,000kmreplacement".
If there are some important safety matters like fuel flow
restriction, surging, loss of power, hard starting problemetc., replace the fuel filter immediately regardless of main-
tenance schedule and consult an authorised HYUNDAI
dealer for details *

: For your convenience, it can be replaced prior to it's interval
when you do maintenance of other items.

: Inspect for excessive valve noise and/or engine vibration
and adjust if necessary. An authorised HYUNDAI dealer
should perform the operation.

: The fuel filter is considered to be maintenance free but peri-
odic inspection is recommended for this maintenance
schedule depends on fuel quality. If there are some impor-
tant matters like fuel flow restriction, surging, loss of power,
hard starting problem etc, replace the fuel filter immediate-ly regardless of maintenance schedule and consult an
authorised HYUNDAI dealer for details.

: When adding coolant, use only deionized water or soft
water for your vehicle and never mix hard water in the
coolant filled at the factory. An improper coolant mixture can
result in serious malfunction or engine damage.

: Inspect drive belt tensioner, idler and alternator, pulley and
if necessary repair or replace.
