o Engine coolant level.
o Power steering fluid level.
o Brake fluid level.
o Windscreen washer fluid level.
o Battery condition.
o Tyre condition and pressures.
o Operation and cleanliness of all lighting equipment.
o Windscreen wiper and washer op-
eration.
o Horn operation.
o Warning lamp operation.
o Adjustment and cleanliness of mir- rors.
o Seat and seat belt adjustment and operation.
o Fluid leakage.
The vehicle must not be driven if the daily operating checks indicate that any item of equipment related to the safety or roadworthiness of the ve-hicle is not functioning correctly. DAILY OPERATING CHECKS
MAINTENANCE PRECAU- TIONS

This section gives instructions only for the maintenanceitems that are easy to perform.Several procedures should be done byHyundai authorised repairer. NOTE: Improper owner maintenance dur- ing the warranty period may affectwarranty coverage.
WARNING:
o Performing maintenance work on a vehicle can be dangerous. You can be seriously injured whilst performing some maintenanceprocedures. If you lack sufficient knowledge and experience or the proper tools and equipment to dothe work, have it done by Hyundai authorised repairer.
o Working under the bonnet with the engine running is dangerous. It becomes even more dangerouswhen you wear jewellery or loose clothing. These can become en- tangled in moving parts and re-sult in injury. Therefore, if you must run the engine whilst work- ing under the bonnet, make cer-tain that you remove all jewellery (especially rings, bracelets, watches, and necklaces) and allneckties, scarves, and similar loose clothing before getting near the engine or cooling fans.

SG080A3-EWINDSCREEN WIPER BLADES
The wiper blades should be carefully inspected from time to time and cleaned to remove accumulations ofroad film or other debris. To clean the wiper blades and arms, use a clean sponge or cloth with a mild soap ordetergent and water. If the wipers continue to streak or smear the glass, replace them with genuine Hyundaireplacement. NOTE: It is also important to ensure that the windscreen is regularly cleaned/ degreased using a proprietary glasscleaner. CAUTION:
o Do not operate the wipers on dry glass since rapid wear anddamage to the windscreen glassmay result.
o Keep the blade rubber out of contact with petroleum products such as engine oil, petrol etc.
o When the wiper blade is freezed in winter or the washer fluidreservoir is empty, the wiper may not operate for ten minutes.This isn't a mechanical troublebut the function protecting thewiper by operating circuit breaker inside of the wiper mo- tor.G080B01GK-GAT
Replacing the Wiper Blades To remove the wiper blade
1. Raise the wiper arm and turn the
wiper blade assembly to expose the plastic locking clip. 1LDA5023

2. Compress the clip and slide the
blade assembly downward.
3. Lift it off the arm. To install the wiper blade

SG090A3-E The level of windscreen washer fluid
available should be checked on a daily basis. The level of fluid will bevisible through the side of the reser- voir. When the fluid is to be replen- ished, only a proprietary screen washadditive should be used and in the concentration recommended by the manufacturer. The windscreen washerreservoir has a total capacity of 3 litres. CAUTION:
Engine coolant anti freeze mustnot be used in the windscreen washer system since damage tothe paintwork may result.Undiluted windscreen washer ad-ditive must not be allowed to come into contact with the paintwork. If spillage occurs, flush the affectedarea immediately with water. Do not operate the windscreen washer for more than 15 seconds continu-ously or when the reservoir is empty since damage to the washer pump will result.

o Windscreen washer fluid agents contain some amounts of alcohol and can be flammable under cer- tain circumstances. Do not allow sparks or flame to contact thewasher fluid or the washer fluid reservoir. Damage to the vehicle or its occupants could occur.
o Windscreen washer fluid is poi- sonous to humans and animals.Do not drink windscreen washer fluid. Serious injury or death could occur.
AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUIDCHECKING THE TRANSAXLE OIL (MANUAL)

Transaxle lubricant in the manual transaxle should be checked at those intervals specified in the vehicle main-tenance schedule in Section 5.
!WARNING:
It is always better to check the
transaxle oil level when the engine is cool or cold. If the engine is hot, you should exercise great caution to avoid burning yourself on hotengine or exhaust parts.
NOTE: It is recommended that the manual
transaxle fluid should be checked by a Hyundai authorised repairer. G110A01MC-EAT The automatic transaxle fluid level should be checked and changed at those intervals prescribed in the main-tenance schedule. It is of paramount importance that only the specified fluid is used when replenishing or changingthe fluid. The use of other fluids may irreparably damage the transaxle and invalidate the manufacturers warranty.In addition the ingress of dirt or lint may prevent correct functioning of the transaxle and care must be exercisedto prevent the ingress of such matter.

NOTE: Automatic transaxle fluid is red in colour. As driving distance in-creases, the fluid colour turns dark- ish red gradually. It is a normal condition and you should not judgethe need to replace based upon the changing colour. You must replace the automatic transaxle fluid in accordance with intervals specified in the vehicle maintenances schedule in section 5.
WARNING:
The transaxle fluid level must bechecked with the engine running and at normal operating tempera- ture and therefore care must be ex-ercised to prevent injury occurring through contact with rotating or hot parts of the engine. G110D03L-GAT
Checking the automatic transaxle fluid level
The automatic transaxle fluid level
should be checked regularly.
Keep the vehicle on the level ground
with the parking brake applied and check the fluid level according to the following procedure.
1. Place the selector lever in N (Neu- tral) position and confirm the engine is running at normal idle speed.
2. After the transaxle is warmed up sufficiently (fluid temperature70~80°C (158~176°F)), for example by 10 minutes usual driving, shiftthe selector lever through all posi- tions then place the selector lever in N (Neutral) or P (Park) position.

Fluid level should be within "HOT" range
3. Confirm that the fluid level is in “HOT” range on the level gauge. If the fluid level is lower, add the specified fluid from the fill hole. If the fluid level is higher, drain thefluid from the drain hole.
4. If the fluid level is checked in cold condition (fluid temperature 20~30°C(68~86°F)) add the fluid to “COLD” line and then recheck the fluid level according to the above step 2.

CAUTION:
Correct operation of the braking
system is essential to the safe operation of the vehicle and there- fore, any maintenance operationsother than those listed below should be entrusted to a Hyundai authorised repairer.
!WARNING:
The electric engine cooling fan au-
tomatically switches on and off ac- cording to engine temperature. Be careful to keep away from the fan during this check as it may switchon at any time.
NOTE: Only lint free cloth should be used for wiping the dipstick. The pres- ence of lint within the transaxle may cause problems with the nor- mal function of the transaxle. The fluid level in the brake fluid reser-
voir should be checked periodically. The level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the side of the reservoir. If the level is at or belowthe "MIN" mark, fluid should be added having carefully cleaned the area sur- rounding the reservoir cap to ensurethat dirt is not allowed to enter the system. It should be noted will de- crease slightly as the friction linings ofthe pads and shoes become worn and that this is a normal condition.
