This warning light remains ON
after blinking for approximately 60
seconds, or repeatedly blinks ON
and OFF in 3 second intervals:
When there is a malfunction with the
TPMS.
In this case, have your vehicle inspected
by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
For more information, refer to "Tire
Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)"
in chapter 6.
Automatic EmergencyBraking (AEB) Warninglight (if equipped)
This warning light illuminates :
When the AEB system is turned off.
When the radar sensor or cover is
blocked with dirt or snow. Check the
sensor and cover and clean them by
using a soft cloth.
When there is a malfunction with AEB. In this case, have your vehicle inspect-
ed by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Headlight WarningLight
This warning light illuminates:
This warning light illuminates if one of the
exterior bulbs (headlamp, taillamp,
foglamp, etc.) is not operating properly.
One of the bulbs may need to be
replaced. If the vehicle is equipped with
LED headlamps, have the vehicle
inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer.
Information
When replacing the bulb, use the same
wattage bulb.
For more information, refer to "BULB
WATTAGE" in chapter 8.

Safe Stopping
The TPMS cannot alert you to
severe and sudden tire damage
caused by external factors.
If you notice any vehicle instabili-
ty, immediately take your foot off
the accelerator pedal, apply the
brakes gradually with light force,
and slowly move to a safe posi-
tion off the road.

AUTO light position (if equipped)
The parking lamp and headlamp will be
turned ON or OFF automatically depend-
ing on the amount of light outside the
vehicle.
Even with the AUTO light feature in oper-
ation, it is recommended to manually turn
ON the lamps when driving at night or in
a fog, driving in the rain, or when you
enter dark areas, such as tunnels and
parking facilities.• Do not cover or spill anything on the
sensor (1) located in front of the
instrument panel.
Do not clean the sensor using a win- dow cleaner, the cleanser may leave
a light film which could interfere
with sensor operation.
If your vehicle has window tint or other types of metallic coating on
the front windshield, the AUTO light
system may not work properly.
Parking lamp position ( )
The parking lamp, license plate lamp and
instrument panel lamp are turned ON.
Headlamp position ( )
The headlamp, parking lamp, license
plate lamp and instrument panel lamp
are turned ON.
Information
The ignition switch must be in the ON
position to turn on the headlamp.

3. The Smart High Beam will turn onwhen vehicle speed is above
25 mph (40km/h).
Smart High Beam is operating, the
Smart High Beam will turn off and the
high beam will be on continuously. The
smart high beam ( ) indicator will
turn off.
when the Smart High Beam is oper-
ating, the Smart High Beam will turn
off.
4. If the light switch is placed to the head- lamp position, the Smart High Beam
will turn off and the low beam will be
on continuously.
The high beam switches to low beam in
the below conditions.
- When the Smart High Beam is off.
- When the light switch is not in the AUTO position.
- When the headlamp is detected from the on-coming vehicle.
- When the tail lamp is detected from the front vehicle.
- When the surrounding is bright enough high beams are not needed.
- When streetlights or other lights are detected.
- When vehicle speed is below 15 mph (24 km/h).
Warning light and message
When the Smart High Beam Assist
System is not working properly, the warn-
ing message will come on for a few sec-
ond. After the message disappears, the
master warning light will illuminate. Take
your vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer and have the system checked.
The system may not operate nor-
mally in the below conditions.
When the light from the on-com-
ing or front vehicle is not detect-
ed because of lamp damage, hid-
den from sight, etc.
When the lamp of the on-coming
or front vehicle is covered with
dust, snow or water.
When the light from the on-com-
ing or front vehicle is not detect-
ed because of exhaust fume,
smoke, fog, snow, etc.
When the front window is cov-
ered with foreign matters such as
ice, dust, fog, or is damaged.
When there is a similar shape
lamp with the front vehicle's
lamps.
When it is hard to see because of
fog, heavy rain or snow.
When the headlamp is not
repaired or replaced at an author-
ized dealer.
When headlamp aiming is not
properly adjusted.

Turn signals and lane changesignals
To signal a turn, push down on the lever
for a left turn or up for a right turn in posi-
tion (A).
If an indicator stays on and does not
flash or if it flashes abnormally, one of the
turn signal bulbs may be burned out and
will require replacement.
Onetouch turn signal function
To activate the One Touch Turn Signal
function, push the turn signal lever up or
down to position (B) and then release it.
The lane change signals will blink 3, 5 or
7 times.

When driving on a narrow curved
road or rough road.
When driving downhill or uphill.
When only part of the vehicle in
front is visible on a crossroad or
curved road.
When there is a traffic light,

tem may malfunction if sunlight

At times, the Smart High Beam
system may not work properly,
always check the road conditions
for your safety. When the system
does not operate normally, manu-
ally change between the high
beam and low beam.

Fan speed control
Turn the knob to the right to increase the
fan speed and airflow. Turn the knob to
the left to decrease fan speed and air-
flow.
Setting the fan speed control knob to the
"0" position turns off the fan.
Air conditioning (if equipped)
Press the A/C button to turn the system
on (indicator light will illuminate) and off.
System Operation
Ventilation
1. Select the Face Level mode.
2. Set the air intake control to the outside(fresh) air position.
3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.
4. Set the fan speed control to the desired speed.
Heating
1. Select the Floor Level mode.
2. Set the air intake control to the outside(fresh) air position.
3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.
4. Set the fan speed control to the desired speed.
5. If dehumidified heating is desired, turn the air conditioning system on.
If the windshield fogs up, select the Floor
& Defrost mode or press the Front

Operation Tips
To keep dust or unpleasant fumes fromentering the car through the ventilation
system, temporarily set the air intake
control to the recirculated air position.
Return the control to the fresh air posi-
tion when the irritation has passed.
This will help keep the driver alert and
comfortable.
To prevent the inside of the windshield from fogging, set the air intake control
to the fresh air position and fan speed
to the desired position, turn on the air
conditioning system, and adjust the
temperature control to desired temper-
ature.
Air conditioning
All HYUNDAI Air Conditioning Systems
are filled with environmentally friendly R-
134a refrigerant.
1. Start the engine.
2. Push the air conditioning button.
3. Set the mode to the Face Level mode.
4. Set the air intake control to the recir- culated air position. However, pro-
longed operation of the recirculated air
position will excessively dry the air. In
this case, change the air position.
5. Adjust the fan speed control and tem- perature control to maintain maximum
comfort.
When maximum cooling is desired, set
the temperature control to the extreme
left position then set the fan speed con-
trol to the highest speed.
When using the air conditioning sys-
tem, monitor the engine temperature
gauge closely while driving up hills or
in heavy traffic when outside temper-
atures are high. Air conditioning sys-
tem operation can cause engine over-
heating. Continue to use the blower
fan, but turn the air conditioning sys-
tem off if the engine temperature
gauge indicates engine overheating.
Air conditioning system operation
tips
If the vehicle has been parked in direct sunlight during hot weather, open the
windows for a short time to let the hot
air inside the vehicle escape.
After sufficient cooling has been achieved, switch back from the recircu-
lated air to the fresh outside air posi-
tion.
To help reduce moisture inside of the windows on rainy or humid days,
decrease the humidity inside the vehi-
cle by operating the air conditioning
system with the windows and sunroof
closed.
Use the air conditioning system every month only for a few minutes to ensure
maximum system performance.
If you operate air conditioner exces- sively, the difference between the tem-
perature of the outside air and that of
the windshield could cause the outer
surface of the windshield to fog up,
causing loss of visibility. In this case,
set the mode selection knob or button
to the position and fan speed con-
trol to the lower speed.

Fan speed control
The fan speed can be set to the desired
speed by pushing the fan speed control
button.
The higher the fan speed is, the more air
is delivered.
Pressing the OFF button turns off the
fan.
Information
For better sound quality, fan speed may
automatically slow down for a couple of
minutes when you activate voice recogni-
tion or hands free.
Air conditioning
Push the A/C button to manually turn the
system on (indicator light will illuminate)
and off.

Continued use of the climate con-
trol system operation in the recir-
culated air position can cause
drowsiness or sleepiness, that
may cause loss of vehicle control
resulting in an accident. Set the
air intake control to the outside
(fresh) air position as much as
possible while driving.
Continued use of the climate con-
trol system operation in the recir-
culated air position (without the
air conditioning selected) may
allow humidity to increase inside
the vehicle which may fog the
glass and obscure visibility.
Do not sleep in a vehicle with the
air conditioning or heating sys-
tem on. It may cause serious
injury or death due to a drop in
the oxygen level and/or body
temperature.

Air conditioning
All HYUNDAI Air Conditioning Systems

Driving your vehicle
The LKAS system will not be in the
ENABLED state and the steering
wheel will not be assisted when:
Vehicle speed is below 40 mph (60 km/h) and over 110 mph (180
km/h).
Only one lane line is detected.
The turn signal is turned on before changing a lane. If you change lanes
without the turn signal on, the steering
wheel might be controlled.
The hazard warning flasher is on.
The width of the lane is below 10 feet (3.1 m) and over 15 feet (4.5
m).
ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is activated.
The vehicle is driven on a sharp curve.
The vehicle brakes suddenly.
The vehicle makes sharp lane changes.
Information
When the system is turned on or right
after changing a lane, drive in the middle
of the lane. If not, the system will not pro-
vide steering assist function.
Limitations of the System
The LKAS may operate prematurely
even if the vehicle does not depart from
the intended lane, OR, the LKAS may not
warn you if the vehicle leaves the intend-
ed lane under the following circum-
stances:
The lanes ahead are not visible due torain, snow, water on the road, dam-
aged or stained road surface, or other
factors.
The brightness outside changes sud- denly such as when entering or exiting
a tunnel.
The brightness outside is too low such as when the headlamps are not on at
night or the vehicle is going through a
tunnel.
It is difficult to distinguish the lane marking from the road surface or the
lane marking is faded or not clearly
marked.
Driving on a steep grade, over a hill, or when driving on a curved road.
When light coming from a street light or an oncoming vehicle is reflected on a
wet road surface such as a puddle in
the road.
The windshield or the LKAS camera lens is blocked with dirt or debris. The field of view in front is obstructed
by sun glare.
The lanes are incomplete or the area is in a construction zone.
There are more than two lane lines on the road in front of you.
The lane markings are not clearly visi- ble from the road.
The lane width is too wide or too nar- row. See previous page.
The windshield glass is fogged up; a clear view of the road is obstructed.
There are markings on the road sur- face that look like a lane line that is
inadvertently being detected by the
camera.
There is a boundary structure in the roadway such as a concrete barrier,
guardrail and reflector post that is
inadvertently being detected by the
camera.
There is not enough distance between you and the vehicle in front to be able
to detect the lane line or the vehicle
ahead is driving on the lane line.
The adverse road conditions cause excessive vehicle vibrations while driv-
ing.
