The cabin air filter is installed behind
the glove box. It filters the dust or other
pollutants that enter the vehicle through
the heating and air conditioning system.
Have the cabin air filter replaced by an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer according to
the maintenance schedule. If the vehicle
is being driven in severe conditions such
as dusty or rough roads, more frequent
cabin air filter inspections and changes
are required.
If the air flow rate suddenly decreases,
the system should be checked at an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Information
[ Replace the filter according to the
Maintenance Schedule.
[ If the car is being driven in severe
conditions such as dusty, rough
roads, more frequent cabin air filter
inspections and changes are required.
[ When the air flow rate suddenly
decreases, have the system be checked
by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Checking the amount of air
conditioner refrigerant and
compressor lubricant
When the amount of refrigerant is low,
the performance of the air conditioning
is reduced. Overfilling also reduces the
performance of the air conditioning
system.
Therefore, if abnormal operation is
found, have the system inspected by an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
NOTICE
It is important that the correct type and
amount of oil and refrigerant are used.
Otherwise, damage to the compressor
and abnormal system operation may
occur. To prevent damage, the air
conditioning system in your vehicle
should only be serviced by trained and
certified technicians.
NOTICE
[ The refrigerant system should only
be serviced by trained and certified
technicians to insure proper and safe
operation.
[ The refrigerant system should be
serviced in a well-ventilated place.
[ The air conditioning evaporator
(cooling coil) shall never be repaired
or replaced with one removed from
a used or salvaged vehicle and new
replacement MAC evaporators shall
be certified (and labeled) as meeting
SAE Standard J2842.

Requires API SN PLUS (or above) grade engine oil. If a lower grade engine oil is used, then the engine oil and engine oil filter
must be replaced at every 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or 6 months as indicated for severe maintenance condition.
*2 :
If TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is not available, one bottle of additive is recommended. Additives are available from your
authorized HYUNDAI dealer along with information on how to use them. Do not mix other additives.
*3 :
The drive belt should be replaced when cracks occur or tension is reduced excessively.
❈ As it is normal for engine oil to be consumed during driving, the amount of engine oil should be checked regularly.
❈ The replacement cycle of engine oil is set by the period which the performance of our recommended engine oil is maintained. So, if recommended engine oil is not used, a replacement is required as indicated severe usage condition.

Filter Inspection
The cabin air filter should be replaced
according to the Maintenance Schedule.
If the vehicle is operated in severely
air-polluted cities or on dusty rough
roads for a long period, it should be
inspected more frequently and replaced
earlier. When you replace the cabin air
filter, replace it performing the following
procedure, and be careful to avoid
damaging other components.
Filter Replacement

1. Push in both sides of the glove box as shown. This will ensure that the glove
box stopper pins will get released
from its holding location allowing the
glove box to hang.
