X U, L1 X XUFXB180C01A-GAT Pre-tensioner Seat Belt (Without A/BAG) (If Installed) Ordinarily the pre-tensioner seat belt operates in the same way as E.L.R(Emergency Locking Retractor) type(When vehicles stop suddenly, the beltwill lock into the position. It will also lock if you try to lean forward too quickly.). However, when vehiclescrash, the retractor rewinds the beltwebbing. This will restrain the passen-ger movement quickly and also reducethe slack between passenger and belt webbing. NOTE:
o When the pre-tensioner seat belt
is activated, there may be an ex- plosion noise. This noise is nor-mal and is not hazardous.
o Pre-tensioner seat belt is de- signed to operate only when a sufficiently severe impact occurs and it will be only operated once.
