B420A02A-AAT CIGARETTE LIGHTER
For the cigarette lighter to work, the key must be in the "ACC" position or the "ON" position. To use the cigarette lighter, push it allthe way into its socket. When the ele-ment has heated, the lighter will popout to the "ready" position.Do not hold the cigarette lighter pressed in. This can damage the heating ele- ment and create a fire hazard. There is a digital clock control button built-in right side of the speedometer.Its functions are: o Reset : Push the button for more than
1 second.
o Min/Hour Adjustment: Turn to "H"
for 0.5 second to advance the hour indicated. Turn to "M" for 0.5 sec- ond to advance the minute indi- cated.
o Auto mode: Turn to the right or left
side for more than 1 second to ad-vance fastly. CAUTION:
Don't turn the switch excessively toprevent switch damage.

2. Insert the hexagonal head wrench
provided with the vehicle into the socket. This wrench can be found inthe vehicle’s trunk or glove box.

B480A01E-AAT FRONT INTERIOR LIGHT Map Light
The two map light switches are located on both sides of the front overheadconsole. Push in the map light switch to turn the light on or off. This light produces a spot beam for convenientuse as a map light at night or as apersonal light for the driver and thepassenger.
B460E01TB-GAT Resetting the Sunroof System If the battery has been recharged, disconnected, if the sunroof is oper-ated with the hexagonal head wrenchmanually, or if the sunroof operation isstopped by that ignition key is turned tothe "OFF" position while it is moving, you may need to reset the sunroof. To do this;
1. Turn the ignition switch "OFF".
2. With pressing "open" "up" button at
the same time, turn the ignition switch "ON".
3. If the sunroof is set like this, the
sunroof is reset with tilting up/down automatically once for all.Without Sunroof

5. TUNE Press the button not more than 1 second then frequency is increased.Likewise press the button not more than 1 second to decrease the fre- quency.
o SEEK Press the button for over 1 second, then it will tune to the next receivablehigher frequency station. Likewise, press the button for over 1 second then it will tune to the next receivablelower frequency station.If the selected station is in the preset memory, memo- rized channel will be on the display too. 6. K210B01TB-GAT 1. POWER ON/OFF, VOLUME Rotate the Power switch clockwise to turn on the audio when the ignitionswitch is at ACC or ON position. Once the system is on, you can increase or decrease the volume by rotating theknob clockwise or counter-clockwise.
o BALANCE Further pull the volume button and rotate clockwise to emphasize right sound speaker. Or rotate counter-clockwise to empha-size left sound speaker.
o SCAN Button When this button is pressed, the fre- quency will be increased to be tuned to the next receivable station one afteranother, receiving each station for 5 seconds. if the desirable station is tuned, press this button (scan) againto cancel scan function.
2. BASS/TREBLE-pull Press this button to pop up. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the Bassand rotate to counter-clockwise to de- crease the Bass. Further pull the button and rotate clock-wise to increase the Treble. Or rotate counter-clockwise to de- crease the Treble. After adjustmentpress the button. 3. PRESET ( 1 ~ 6 ) Press any of these buttons not more than 2 seconds to listen to the station in memory. Press the preset button for 2 seconds or more, then the currentstation will be stored into the memory of the preset button. 4. LCD LCD shows the following information; band of FM1/FM2/AM/(L)/(M) fre-quency, preset channel number, ST in case of FM Stereo.

TUNE Press the button not more than 0.5 second then frequency is increased.Likewise press the button not more than 0.5 second to decrease the fre- quency.With the button held down for 0.5 sec or more, the beep sound will be heard and frequency will increase or decreaserapidly. if you release the button after the beep sound, seek function is in operation. o SEEK Press the button for over 0.5 second and release the button after beep sound,then it will tune to the next receivable higher frequency station. Likewise, press the button for over 0.5 secondand release the button after the beep sound, then it will tune to the next receivable lower frequency station. ifthe selected station is in the preset memory, memorized channel will be on the display too. 3. PRESET Press any of these buttons not more than 2 seconds to listen to the stationin memory. Press the preset button for 2 seconds or more, then the current station will be stored into the memoryof the preset button with the sound.
4. SCAN Button When this button is pressed, the fre- quency will be increased to be tuned tothe next receivable station one after another, receiving each station for 5 seconds. if the desirable station istuned, press this button (scan) again to cancel scan function. 5. BASS/BAL- pull Press to pop the knob out, To increase the bass, rotate the knob clockwise, while to decrease the Bass, rotate theknob counterclockwise. Further pull the popped-ed knob for the balance control. Rotate the knob clockwise toemphasize right speaker sound. (Left speaker sound will be attenuated) When the control knob is turnedcounter-clockwise, left speaker sound will be emphasized. (Right speaker will be attenuated)

6. TREB/pull-FAD Press the pop the knob out and turn clockwise to increase the treble orcounterclockwise to decrease the treble. Further pull the popped-up knob for the Fader control. Turn the controlknob counter clockwise to emphasize front speaker sound. (Rear speaker sound will be attenu-ated) When the control knob is turned clockwise, rear speaker sound will be emphasized. 1. POWER ON-OFF Control Knob The radio unit may be operated when the ignition key is in the "ACC" or "ON"position. Press the button to switch the power on. The display shows the radio frequency in the radio mode, the tapedirection indicator in the tape mode or CD track in either the CD mode or CD AUTO CHANGER mode. To switchthe power off, press the button again. VOLUME Control Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the volume and turn the knob counter- clockwise to reduce the volume.
2. BASS/BALANCE

Press to pop the knob out. To increase the bass, rotate the knob clockwise, while to decrease the bass, rotate theknob counterclockwise. BALANCE Control knob Pull the Bass control knob out further. Rotate the knob clockwise to empha-size right speaker sound. (Left speaker sound will be attenuated) When the control knob is turned counterclock-wise, left speaker sound will be em- phasized (Right speaker sound will be attenuated).

Press to pop the knob out and turn to the left or right for the desired trebletone. FAD (Fader Control) Knob Pull the Bass control knob out further. Turn the control knob counterclock- wise to emphasize front speaker sound. (Rear speaker sound will be attenu-ated) When the control knob is turned clockwise, rear speaker sound will be emphasized. (Front speaker sound willbe attenuated) 4. TUNE (Manual) Select Button Press the ( ) side or ( ) side to increase or to decrease the frequency.Press either button and hold down to continuously scroll, Release button once the desired station is reached. SEEK Operation (Automatic Channel Selection) Press the TUNE select button for 0.5 sec or more. Releasing it will automati- cally tune to the next available stationwith a beep sound. When the ( ) side is pressed longer than 0.5 second, releasing will auto-matically tune to the next higher fre- quency and when the ( ) side is pressed longer than 0.5 second andreleasing will automatically tune to the next lower frequency.
5. PRESET STATION Select

Six (6) stations for AM, FM and FM2 respectively can be preset in the elec- tronic memory circuit.

6- 10 DO-IT-YOURSELF MAINTENANCE
The engine oil and filter should be changed at those intervals specified in the maintenance schedule in Section 5.If the car is being driven in severe conditions, more frequent oil and filter changes are required.1.6L

Oil filter The procedure for changing the oil and filter is as follows:
1. Park the car on level ground and set
the parking brake. Start the engine and let it warm up until the needle onthe coolant temperature gauge moves above the lowest mark. Turn the engine off and place the gear selec-tor lever in "P" (automatic) or reverse gear (manual transaxle). Set the park- ing brake.
2. Open the hood and remove the en- gine oil filler cap.
3. Slide underneath the car and loosen the drain plug by turning it counter- clockwise with a wrench of the proper size. Be sure that a drain pan is inposition to catch the oil as it drains out, then remove the drain plug.
WARNING:
Be very careful when draining theengine oil as it may be hot enough to burn you!

4. When the oil has stopped draining, replace the drain plug using a new washer and retighten by turning itclockwise. Tightening torque is: 3.5 ~ 4.5 kgf.m
5. Remove the oil filter by turning it counterclockwise with a oil filter wrench of the proper size. A certain amount of oil will come out when you remove the filter. So be sure tohave your drain pan in place under- neath it.
6. Install a new oil filter in accordance with the instructions on the cartonor on the filter itself. Do not over- tighten. Tightening torque: Gasoline - 1.2 ~ 1.6 kgf.m
Diesel(LHD(Except E.C), RHD) - 2.3 ~ 2.5 kgf.m Be sure that the mounting surface on the engine is clean and that the old gasket is removed completely.Lubricate the new gasket on the filter with clean engine oil before installation.
