B350C01FC-GAT Adjustable Intermittent Wiper
Operation (If Installed)
To use the intermittent wiper feature, place the wiper switch in the "INT" position. With the switch in this posi-tion, the interval between wipes can be varied from approximately 1 to 18 sec- onds by turning the interval adjusterbarrel.
Mist Wiper Operation
NOTE:
o Do not operate the washer more
than 15 seconds at a time or when the fluid reser- voir isempty.
o In icy or freezing weather, be
sure the wiper blades are notfrozen to the glass prior to oper- ating the wipers.
o In areas where water freezes in winter, use windshield washerantifreeze.
If a single wipe is desired in mist, push the windshield wiper and washer con-trol lever upwards. HTB022 HTB020
To use the windshield washer, pull the wiper/washer lever toward the steer-ing wheel. When the washer lever is operated, the wipers automatically make two passes across the wind-shield. The washer continues to oper- ate until the lever is released.

B370A01A-AAT HAZARD WARNING SYSTEM The hazard warning system should be used whenever you find it necessary to stop the car in a hazardous location.When you must make such an emer- gency stop, always pull off the road as far as possible.The hazard warning lights are turned on by pushing in on the hazard switch. This causes all turn signal lights toblink. The hazard warning lights will operate even though the key is not in the ignition.To turn the hazard warning lights off, push in on the switch a second time. HTB093
B380A01HP-AAT REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER SWITCH The rear window defroster is turned on by pushing in on the switch. To turn the defroster off, push in on the switch asecond time. The rear window de- froster automatically turns itself off af- ter about 20 minutes. To restart thedefroster cycle, push in on the switch again after it has turned itself off.

o Windshield washer fluid level
o Accessory drive belt condition
o Engine coolant hose condition
o Fluid leaks (on or below compo-
nents)
o Power steering fluid level

o Lights operation
o Windshield wiper operation
o Horn operation
o Defroster, heater system operation
(and air conditioning, if installed)
o Steering operation and condition
o Mirror condition and operation

o Accelerator pedal operation
o Brake operation, including parking brake
o Manual transaxle operation, includ- ing clutch operation
o Automatic transaxle operation, in-
cluding "Park" mechanism opera-tion
o Seat control condition and opera-
tion
o Seat belt condition and operation
o Sunvisor operation If you notice anything that does not operate correctly or appears to befunctioning incorrectly, inspect it care- fully and seek assistance from your Hyundai dealer if service is needed.

SB230A1-E WINDSCREEN WIPER/ WASHER SWITCH The windscreen wiper switch, depen- dent upon model, has three operating positions.
1. Intermittent wiper operation.
(Not all models)
2. Low speed operation.
3. High speed operation. NOTE: To prevent damage to the wiper sys- tem, do not attempt to wipe away heavy accumulations of snow or ice. Accumulated snow and ice should be removed manually. If there is only a light layer of snow or ice, operate the heater in the defrost mode to meltthe snow or ice before using the wiper.
NOTE:
o Do not operate the washer more
than 15 seconds at a time or when the fluid reservoir is empty.

SB240A1-E HAZARD WARNING SYSTEM The hazard warning system should be used whenever it becomes necessary to stop the car in a hazardous location.The hazard warning system is operated by depressing the switch at which time all turn signal lights will flash simulta-neously and the turn signal warning lights located within the instrument clus- ter will flash simultaneously.The hazard warning system may be turned off by depressing the switch again. ZC170C1-E Anti-freeze/Corrosion inhibitor The cooling system must always con- tain an Ethylene-Glycol based anti-freeze solution. The system is filled during manufacture with solution of the correct strength which should bechecked before the onset of winter and adjusted or changed as required. NOTE: The anti-freeze solution contains a corrosion inhibitor to prevent deg- radation of the aluminum castings contained within the engine. There-fore, never, drain the system and refill with water only. In addition, anti-freeze solution must ALWAYS be used in vehicles fitted with air conditioning, to prevent theheater matrix from freezing and sub- sequently bursting with the refrigera- tion system in use. SC170E1-E Windscreen Washers and Wip- ers The windscreen washer bottle should be filled with a solution of water and a proprietary winter screen wash addi-tive. The windscreen wipers should not be used if the blades are frozen to the windscreen or if they are coveredwith snow, before this is removed. NOTE: Never allow undiluted screen washer fluid additive to spill upon the paintwork or use engine cool- ant anti-freeze since damage to thepaintwork may result.
o When driving in extreme conditions,
the windscreen wiper blades may fail to clear the screen properly due to the formation of ice upon theblade edge. It will therefore be nec- essary to periodically remove such ice to restore their efficiency.
o If the power operated door mirrors become frozen, attempts to adjustthese may damage the mechanism.
ZC170D1-E Door Locks Should the door lock mechanism be- come frozen, a proprietary lock de-icer should be used. Alternatively, warm- ing the door key may thaw the doorlock. However, the key should be handled carefully to avoid burning the fingers.Never attempt to thaw a frozen door lock using hot water, since the water will eventually freeze and compoundthe problem. NOTE: The proper temperature for using the immobilizer key is from -40°F to 176°F (-40°C to 80°C). If you heat the immobilizer key over 176°F (80°C)to open the frozen lock, it may cause damage to the transponder in its head.

SG020B1-E DAILY OPERATING CHECKS The following items should be checked on a daily basis or whenever the vehicleis refuelled, whichever occurs sooner.
o Engine oil level.
o Engine coolant level.
o Power steering fluid level.
o Brake fluid level.
o Windscreen washer fluid level.
o Battery condition.
o Tyre condition and pressures.
o Operation and cleanliness of all light-
ing equipment.
o Windscreen wiper and washer opera- tion.
o Horn operation.
o Warning light operation.
o Adjustment and cleanliness of mir- rors.
o Seat and seat belt adjustment and operation.
o Fluid leakage. The vehicle must not be driven if the daily operating checks indicate that any item of equipment related to thesafety or roadworthiness of the vehicle is not functioning correctly. G030B02A-EAT Recommended Oil
1. Petrol engine A multi grade oil having a specification which meets A.P.I. specification of SGor above is recommended. The oil vis- cosity should be selected according to the operating environment of the engineby means of the table shown in the illustration. The engine oil recommen- dations are complete in themselvesand the use of additives is neither required nor recommended. The use of engine oil additives may result in invali-dation of the vehicle warranty.
G030A01FC-EAT ENGINE OIL The correct engine oil level is of para- mount importance. An excessively highor low oil level may result in irreparable damage being sustained by the engine. The engine oil level must be checkedon a daily basis, whenever the vehicle is refuelled or before starting a long trip, whichever occurs sooner.In addition, it is imperative that only an approved grade and specification of oil is used to avoid the possibility of seri-ous engine damage and premature wear. The use of "budget price" oil is a false economy that must be avoided if themaximum reliability and useful life is to be obtained from the vehicle.
