TRACTION CONTROL INDICATOR LIGHT(If installed)
The traction control indicators change operations according to the switch conditions and whether the system is in operation or not. They will also illu-minate when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" or "START" position, but should go out after three seconds. Ifthe TCS indicator stays on, take your car to your authorized Hyundai dealer and have the system checked. Seesection 2 for more information about the TCS system.
B260D01A-AAT TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR LIGHTS
The blinking green arrows on the in- strument panel show the direction indi- cated by the turn signals. If the arrowcomes on but does not illuminate, blinks more rapidly than normal, or does not illuminate at all, a malfunction in theturn signal system is indicated. Your dealer should be consulted for repairs. B260F01A-AAT
HIGH BEAM INDICATOR LIGHT
The high beam indicator light comes on whenever the headlights areswitched to the high beam or flash position.

SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT
The seat belt warning light blinks for about 6 seconds when the ignition key is turned from the "OFF" position to"ON" or "START". B260K01S-AAT TRUNK LID OPEN WARNING LIGHT
This light remains on unless the trunk lid is completely closed.

ABS SERVICE REMINDER INDICATOR
When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the Anti-Lock Brake System SRI will come on and then go off in a few seconds. If the ABS SRI remainson, comes on while driving, or does not come on when the key is turned to the "ON" position, this indicates that theremay be a problem with the ABS. If this occurs, have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai dealer assoon as possible. The normal braking system will still be operational, but without the assistance of the anti-lockbrake system. WARNING:
If the both ABS SRI and ParkingBrake/Brake fluid level warninglights remain "ON" or come on while driving, there may be a problem
with E.B.D. (Electronic Brake ForceDistribution). If this occurs, avoid sudden stops and have your vehicle checked byyour Hyundai dealer as soon as possible.

WARNING:
When the ignition switch is on and the windshield wiper switch is placed in the "AUTO" mode, please use caution in the following casesto avoid any hand injury: As the wiper system may automati- cally activate, the fingers or handmight be caught in the wiper.
o Do not touch the upper end of the windshield glass facing the rain sensor.
o Do not wipe the upper end of the
windshield glass with a cloth.
o Do not put pressure on the wind-

Rain Sensor
The rear window defroster and heated outside rearview mirrors are turned onby pushing in the switch. At the same time, the rear window defroster indica- tor light on the switch is turned on. Toturn the defroster off, push the switch a second time. The rear window de- froster automatically turns itself off af-ter about 20 minutes. To restart the defroster cycle, push in the switch again after it has turned itself off.

B370A01A-AAT HAZARD WARNING SYSTEM The hazard warning system should be used whenever you find it necessary to stop the car in a hazardous location. When you must make such an emer-gency stop, always pull off the road as far as possible. The hazard warning lights are turnedon by pushing in the hazard switch. This causes all turn signal lights to blink. The hazard warning lights willoperate even though the key is not in the ignition. To turn the hazard warning lights off,push the switch a second time. The drink holder is located on the main console for holding cups or cans. Thedrink holder can be opened by pushing at its top edge.

Place the drink holder in its closed position when not in use. WARNING:
Do not place anything except drinks in the drink holder. Such objects can be thrown out, possibly injur- ing persons in the vehicle duringsudden braking or in the event of an accident.

Instead, push the metal ash recep- tacle down and forward in the ashtray door, and it can then be lifted out. Toreinstall it, place it in the proper posi- tion and press it down and forward to reengage the ash receptacle rear lip inthe ashtray door. The ashtray light will only illuminate when the exterior body lights are switched on.
B440A01L-GAT REAR ASHTRAY The rear ashtray may be opened by pulling the lid up by its top edge. To remove the ashtray to empty or clean it, lift it up slightly and pull it all the wayout.

The rear drink holder is located on front of the rear seat arm rest for holding cups.The drink holder can be used by pushing it in first and then releasing it.

To open the trunk lid, insert the key and turn it clockwise to unlock. The trunk compartment light illuminates when the trunk lid is opened.
WARNING:
o If a person is locked in the trunk, pull the emergency trunk releaselever on the driver's side of theinside panel of the trunk to open the trunk lid.
o Hyundai recommends that cars be kept locked and keys be keptout of the reach of children, and that parents teach their childrenabout the dangers of playing in trunks.

To adjust the headlight beam level according to the number of the pas- sengers and the loading weight in theluggage area, turn the beam leveling switch. The higher the number of the switchposition, the lower the headlight beam level. Always keep the headlight beam at the proper leveling position, or head-lights may dazzle other road users. Listed below are the examples of proper switch settings. For loading conditionsother than those listed below, adjust the switch position so that the beam level may be the nearest as the condi-tion obtained according to the list.
