Front windshield wiper blade
Type A
1. Raise the wiper arm and turn the wiperblade assembly to expose the plastic
locking clip.
2. Compress the clip and slide the bladeassembly downward.
3. Lift it off the arm.
4. Install the blade assembly in the reverse order of removal. G180201AFD
Type B
1. Raise the wiper arm.
CAUTION
Do not allow the wiper arm to fall
against the windshield, since it may chip or crack the windshield.

2. Press the button and slide the blade
assembly upward. 3. Install the blade assembly in the
reverse order of removal.
4. Return the wiper arm on the wind- shield. Type C

2. Open the cover of the blade. 3. Compress the clip behind the wiperarm and lift it off the arm.
4. Install the blade assembly until it clicks into place.
5. Close the cover of blade.
6. Place back the wiper arm to the prop- er position. G180202AFDRear window wiper blade

1. Raise the wiper arm and pull out the wiper blade assembly.

2. Install the new blade assembly by
inserting the center part into the slot in
the wiper arm until it clicks into place.
3. Make sure the blade assembly is installed firmly by trying to pull it slight-
ly.
To prevent damage to the wiper arms or
other components, have an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer replace the wiper

For best battery service
Keep the battery securely mounted.
Keep the battery top clean and dry.
Keep the terminals and connections
clean, tight, and coated with petroleum
jelly or terminal grease.
Rinse any spilled electrolyte from the battery immediately with a solution of
water and baking soda.
If the vehicle is not going to be used for an extended time, disconnect the bat-
tery cables.

Windshield wipers
Operates as follows when the ignition
switch is turned ON.
/ / MIST : For a single wiping
cycle, move the lever to this (/ /MIST) position
and release it. The wipers
will operate continuously if
the lever is held in this posi-tion.
O / OFF : Wiper is not in operation.
INT / --- : Wiper operates intermittently at the same wiping intervals. Use
this mode in a light rain or mist.
To vary the speed setting, turnthe speed control knob(1).
1 / LO : Normal wiper speed
2 / HI : Fast wiper speed

If there is heavy accumulation of snow
or ice on the windshield, defrost the
windshield for about 10 minutes, or
until the snow and/or ice is removed
before using the windshield wipers to
ensure proper operation.

Auto control (if equipped)
The rain sensor located on the upper end of the windshield glass senses the
amount of rainfall and controls the wiping
cycle for the proper interval. The more it
rains, the faster the wiper operates. When
the rain stops, the wiper stops. To vary the
speed setting, turn the speed controlknob (1).
If the ignition switch is turned ON when
the wiper switch is set in AUTO mode, or
the wiper switch is set in AUTO mode
when the ignition switch is ON, or the
speed control knob is turned upward
when the wiper switch is in AUTO mode,
the wiper will operate once to perform a
self-check of the system. Set the wiper toO (OFF) position when the wiper is not in
use.
CAUTION
When the ignition switch is ON and the windshield wiper switch is
placed in the AUTO mode, use cau- tion in the following situations toavoid any injury to the hands orother parts of the body:
Do not touch the upper end of the windshield glass facing the rainsensor.
Do not wipe the upper end of the windshield glass with a damp or
wet cloth.
Do not put pressure on the wind- shield glass.
