B010A01O-GAT FUEL RECOMMENDATIONS Use Unleaded Gasoline Unleaded gasoline with a Pump Octane Rating of 87 (Research Octane Number 91) or highermust be used in Hyundai vehicle. If leadedgasoline is used, it will cause the catalyticconverter to become ineffective and the emis-sion control system to malfunction. This canalso result in increased maintenance expense. To avoid accidental use of leaded fuel, the largenozzle used with leaded gasoline at servicestations can not be inserted into fuel tankopening of Hyundai vehicle. NOTE:
o For some countries, Hyundai vehicles
are designed to use leaded gasoline. When you are going to use leaded gaso-line, ask to Hyundai dealer whether leadedgasoline in your vehicle is available ornot.
o Octane Rating of leaded gasoline is same with unleaded one.
Use Diesel Diesel fuel of 52 to 54 cetane is used in Hyundai vehicle. If two types of diesel fuel are available,
use summer or winter fuel properly according tothe following temperature conditions.
o Above -5°C (23°F) ... Summer type diesel fuel.
o Below -5°C (23°F) ... Winter type diesel fuel.Watch the fuel level in the tank very carefully : If the engine stops through fuel failure, thecircuits must be completely purged to permitrestarting. CAUTION:
o Do not let any gasoline or water enter the tank. This would make it necessary todrain it out and to bleed the lines to avoidjamming the injection pump and damag-ing the engine.
o In winter, in order to cut down incidents due to freezing, paraffin oil may be addedto the fuel if the temperature drops tobelow -10°C. Never use more than 20%paraffin oil. B010B01A-AAT What About Gasohol?Gasohol (a mixture of 90% unleaded gasoline and 10% ethanol or grain alcohol) may be usedin your Hyundai. However, if your engine devel-ops driveability problems, the use of 100%unleaded gasoline is recommended. Fuels withunspecified quantities of alcohol, or alcoholsother than ethanol, should not be used. B010E01A-AAT Gasolines for Cleaner Air To help contribute to cleaner air, Hyundai rec- ommends that you use gasolines treated withdetergent additives, which help prevent depositformation in the engine. These gasolines willhelp the engine run cleaner and enhance per-formance of the Emission Control System.
B010D01S-AAT Do not Use Methanol Fuels containing methanol (wood alcohol) should not be used in your Hyundai. This typeof fuel can reduce vehicle performance anddamage components of the fuel system. CAUTION: Your Hyundai's New Vehicle Limited War-
ranty may not cover damage to the fuelsystem and performance problems that are
caused by the use of methanol or fuelscontaining methanol.

from jerry cans or by means of a funnel that the fuel being used is unleaded. The use of leaded fuel in this vehicle will result in irreversible pollution of the catalyst ele- ment. Such pollution will prevent correct op- eration of the catalyst and give rise to in- creased operating temperatures leading to the catalyst element melting and restricting the exhaust flow along with an increase in exhaust emission levels. CAUTION: The vehicle warranty will not extend to damage arising from the use of incorrect fuels. Use Diesel Diesel fuel of 52 to 54 cetane is the correct rating to use in Hyundai vehicle. If two types of diesel fuel are available, use summer or winter fuel properly according to the following temperature conditions.
o Above 23°F (-5°C) ... Summer type diesel fuel.
o Below 23°F (-5°C) ... Winter type diesel fuel. Watch the fuel level in the tank very carefully: If the engine stops through fuel failure, thecircuits must be completely purged to permit restarting.

B010A02O-EAT FUEL RECOMMENDATIONSTHIS VEHICLE MUST ONLY BE OPERATED WITH UNLEADED FUEL.SERIOUS DAMAGE WILL RESULT FROM THE USE OF LEADED FUEL.
UNLEADED FUEL ONLY
Unleaded fuel with a Research Octane Num-ber (RON) of 91 or higher must be used in this vehicle. To prevent accidental charging of the fueltank with leaded fuel, a small diameter filler neck along with a restrictor flap are fitted to ensure that only unleaded fuel pump nozzles may enter the filler neck. However, care must be exercised when refuelling the vehicle tank SB010E1-A GASOLINES FOR CLEANER AIRTo help contribute to cleaner air, Hyundai recommends that you use gasolines treated with detergent additives, which help to pre- vent deposit formation in the engine. These gasolines will help the engines run cleaner and the Emission Control System performance.
CAUTION:Do not let any gasoline or water enter thetank. If this happens, the tank should be completely drained and the fuel lines should all be cleaned out. This will stop the fuel pump from becoming contami- nated. Overseas Operation: When the vehicle is to be operated overseas, the vehicle operator should establish that a suitable fuel for satisfactory operation of the vehicle is available.

SG020B1-E
DAILY OPERATING CHECKS
The following items should be checked on a
daily basis or whenever the vehicle is refuelled, whichever occurs sooner.
o Engine oil level.
o Engine coolant level.
o Power steering fluid level.
o Brake fluid level.
o Windscreen washer fluid level.
o Battery condition.
o Tyre condition and pressures.
o Operation and cleanliness of all lighting equipment.
o Windscreen wiper and washer operation.
o Horn operation.
o Warning light operation.
o Adjustment and cleanliness of mirrors.
o Seat and seat belt adjustment and opera- tion.
o Fluid leakage.
The vehicle must not be driven if the daily
operating checks indicate that any item of equip- ment related to the safety or roadworthiness ofthe vehicle is not functioning correctly. G030A01FC-EAT
ENGINE OIL
The correct engine oil level is of paramount
importance. An excessively high or low oil levelmay result in irreparable damage being sus-tained by the engine. The engine oil levelmust be checked on a daily basis, wheneverthe vehicle is refuelled or before starting along trip, whichever occurs sooner.
In addition, it is imperative that only an ap-
proved grade and specification of oil is used toavoid the possibility of serious engine damageand premature wear. The use of "budget price"oil is a false economy that must be avoided ifthe maximum reliability and useful life is to beobtained from the vehicle.

A multi grade oil having a specification which meets A.P.I. specification of SG or above isrecommended. The oil viscosity should be se-lected according to the operating environmentof the engine by means of the table shown inthe illustration. The engine oil recommenda-tions are complete in themselves and the use ofadditives is neither required nor recommended. The use of engine oil additives may result ininvalidation of the vehicle warranty. NOTE: The use of a 5W-20 multi grade oil is not recommended for sustained high speed use.
