B080B02FC-EAT FRONT SEATS Front Seat Rake Adjustment The front seat rake adjustment is per- formed by raising the lever at the front of the seat base and sliding the seat to the desired position. At this position thelever should be released and the seat rocked to and fro to ensure that the mechanism has locked.
WARNING:
To ensure the seat is locked se-curely, attempt to move the seat for-ward or rearward without using the lock release lever. SB070C1-E Front Seat Recline Adjustment The front seat back recline angle may be adjusted by leaning forward slightly and raising the recline adjustment lever at the side of the seat. When theseatback is at the desired angle, the lever should be released. Ensure that the seatback is locked before drivingthe vehicle.
SB070D3-E Head Restraint Adjustment To raise the head restraint, pull it up. To lower it, push it down whilst pressing the lock knob. For maximum effective- ness in the event of an accident, therestraint must be adjusted so that the restraint is approximately at the level of the seat occupant's eyes. The restraintmust never be so adjusted that it is centred about the level of the seat occupant's neck.

SB070E1-E Lumbar Support Adjustment (Driver's seat only)(Not all models) Some models are fitted with adjustable driver seat lumbar support which may be used to increase the amount oflumbar support offered by the seat back. Adjustment is performed by moving the handle at the side of the backrest in a
forward direction to increase the support.

3. To fold down the seatback , push and
hold the seatback folding lever to- ward the head restraints, then push down the seatback.
4. Pull the seat cushion release lever upward, then fold up the seat cushion.
! 5. To secure the seat, hook the secur-
ing strap under the seat cushion to the headrest stay of front driver and passenger seat.
6. Insert the removed headrests be-
tween the seatback and seat cush-ion, so that they will not be thrown forward in the case of a sudden stop or an accident.
7. To return the seatback and seat cushion to its normal position, re-verse the above procedure.
o When you return the seatback to its upright position, always be sure it islocked into position by pulling andpushing on the top of seatback. WARNING:
o When you return the folded down seat back to its upright position, make sure the seat belts are in position to be accessible and tofunction properly.
o The purpose of the fold down rear
seat back and the fold forward rearseat cushion is to increase cargo space. Do not allow passengers to sit in the cargo area whilst the caris moving. This is not a proper seating position and no seat belts are available for use when the seat back is folded down. Passengers who are not properly seated andwearing seat belts could sustain serious injuries or death in case of an accident or a sudden stop.
o Objects should not extend higher than the top of the front seatbacks.This could allow cargo to slideforward and cause injury or dam- age during sudden stops.

CAUTION:
To prevent damage, ensure that the rear drinkholder, located in the rear console, is closed before folding the rear seatback and seat cushion. Seat cushion release lever

If the height of the adjusting seat belt is too near your neck, you will not begetting the most effective protection. The shoulder portion should be ad- justed so that it lies across your chestand midway over your shoulder nearest the door and not your neck. To adjust the height of the seat beltanchor, lower or raise the height ad- juster into an appropriate position. To raise the height adjuster, pull it up. Tolower it, push it down whilst pressing the height adjuster button. Release the button to lock the anchorinto position. Try sliding the release button to make sure that it has locked into position.
WARNING:
o The height adjuster must be in the locked position when the vehicleis moving.
o The misadjustment of height of the shoulder belt could reduce theeffectiveness of the seat belt in acrash. B180A1A-EAT SEAT BELTS (3-Point Type) To Fasten The Seat Belt The seat belts are fastened by pulling the belt buckle towards the seat belt stalk and inserting the metal tongue of the buckle into the stalk. NOTE: When pulling the seat belt buckle towards the fastening position make sure the webbing is not twisted.
The buckle should be firmly pressedinto the stalk until locked which will beindicated by an audible "click". The length of the seat belt webbing will be automatically adjusted by the seatbelt mechanism to allow the wearer maximum freedom of movement whilst the belt is being worn. However, in theevent of rapid deceleration or impact, the belt mechanism will automatically lock.The mechanism will also lock if the seat belt webbing is withdrawn too quickly when the belt is being fastened or ifattempts are made to withdraw the webbing whilst the vehicle is not on level ground. Should the seat belt lockunder these conditions, it will be pos- sible to release the mechanism by al- lowing a small amount of webbing to beretracted and the belt withdrawn again.

SB090R1-F To Release the Seat Belt
The seat belt is released by pressing the release button in the locking buckle. When it is released, the belt should auto- matically draw back into the retractor.If this does not happen, check the belt to be sure it is not twisted, then try again. 1. Before fastening the rear seat centre
belt, confirm the metal tab (a) and buckle (b) are latched together.
2. After confirming that (a) and (b) are
latched, pull the seat belt out of theretractor and insert the metal tab (c) into the buckle (d).

B200A01S-GAT Adjusting Your Seat Belt You should place the belt as low as possible on your hips, not on your waist. If the belt is located too high on yourbody, you could slide under it in case of accident or a sudden stop. This could result of death, serious injury or prop-erty damage. There will be an audible "click" when the tab locks in the buckle. The seat beltautomatically adjusts to the proper length only after the lap belt is adjusted manu- ally so that it fits snugly around yourhips. If you lean forward in a slow, easy motion, the belt will extend and let you move around. If there is a sudden stopor impact, the belt will lock into position. It will also lock if you try to lean forward too quickly.

o When using the rear seat centre belt, you must lock all metal tabs and buckles. If any metal tab or buckle is not locked, it will in-crease the chance of injury in the event of collision.
o Never unlock the metal tab (a) and
the buckle (b) with the followingexceptions.
(1) In case of folding rear seatbacks
down.
(2) If transporting an object on the
rear seat may cause damage tothe rear seat centre belt.
o Lock the metal tab (a) and the

When you want to release the seat belt, press the button in the locking buckle.
WARNING:
The centre lap belt latching mecha-nism is different from those for the rear seat shoulder belts. When fas- tening the rear seat shoulder belts orthe centre lap belt, make sure they are inserted into the correct buckles to obtain maximum protection fromthe seat belt system and assure proper operation.

If you need to tighten the belt, pull more webbing toward the retractor. When youunbuckle the seat belt and allow it to retract, the retractor will automatically revert back to its normal seated pas-senger emergency locking usage con- dition. NOTE:
o Before installing the child restraint
system, read the instructions sup- plied by the child restraint system manufacturer.
o If the seat belt does not operate as described, have the systemchecked immediately by yourHyundai authorised repairer. WARNING:
Do not install any child restraint sys-tem in the front passenger seat.Should an accident occur and cause the passenger side airbag to deploy, it could severely injure or kill aninfant or child seated in an infant or child seat. B180B01A-EAT Pre-Tensioner Seat Belt Your Hyundai vehicle is equipped with driver's and front passenger's pre-tensioner seat belts. The purpose of the pre-tensioner is to make sure that the seat belts fit tightly against the occu-pant's body in certain frontal collisions. The pre-tensioner seat belts can be activated with the airbags.

The pre-tensioner seat belt operates in the same way as an Emergency Lock-ing Retractor (ELR) type of seat belt.
2. Connect the tether strap hook to the child restraint hook holder and tighten to secure the seat. Refer to "Secur- ing a Child Restraint System with the Tether Anchorage System" on page1-27.
WARNING:
o Do not install a child restraint seat at the centre of the rear seat usingthe vehicle's ISOFIX anchors. TheISOFIX anchors are only provided for the left and right outboard rear seating positions. Do not misuse the ISOFIX anchors by attempting to attach a child restraint seat inthe middle of the rear seat to the ISOFIX anchors. In a crash, the child restraint seat ISOFIX attach-ments may not be strong enough to secure the child restraint seat properly in the centre of the rearseat and may break, causing seri- ous injury or death.

o When using the vehicle’s “ISOFIX”
system to install a child restraint system in the rear seat, all unused vehicle rear seat belt metal latchplates or tabs must be latched securely in their seat belt buckles and the seat belt webbing must beretracted behind the child restraint to prevent the child from reaching and taking hold of unretracted seatbelts.
o Do not mount more than one child
restraint to a child restraint loweranchorage point. Over-loading may cause the anchorage points or tether anchor to break, causingserious injury or death.
o Attach the ISOFIX or ISOFIX-com-
patible child restraint seat only tothe appropriate locations shown in the illustration.
o Always follow the installation and use instructions provided by themanufacturer of the child restraint.
