78DIGITAL CLOCK
B400A01HP-GAT (Without Multimeter) There are five control buttons for the digital clock. Their functions are: 1. HOUR - Push "H" to advance the
hour indicated.
2. MIN - Push "M" to advance the
minute indicated.
3. RESET - Push "S" to reset minutes
to ":00" to facilitate resetting the clock to the correct time. When this is done: Pressing "S" between 11 : 01 and 11: 29 changes the readout to 11 : 00. Pressing "S" between 11 : 30 and 11 : 59 changes the readout to 12 : 00. B400A01HPFRONT/REAR WINDOW DE- FROSTER SWITCH

B380A03HP-AAT (If Installed) The front/rear window defroster and heated outside rear view mirrors are turned on by pushing in the switch. Atthe same time, the front/rear window defroster indicator light on the switch is turned on. To turn the defroster off,push the switch a second time. The front/rear window defroster automati- cally turns itself off after about 20minutes. To restart the defroster cycle, push in the switch again after it has turned itself off. CAUTION:
Do not clean the inner side of thefront/rear window glass with an abrasive type of glass cleaner or use a scraper to remove foreigndeposits from the inner surface of the glass as this may cause dam- age to the defroster elements.

4. MODE - Push "MODE" button to
display a 12- or 24-hour clock. When the 12-hour clock is in use, the letters AM or PM appear with the time.
5. - The time is displayed on the LCD by pushing in on the switchand is turned off by pushing in on theswitch again.

The instrument panel lights can be made brighter or dimmer by turning the instrument panel light control knob.

CIGARETTE LIGHTER
B420A02A-AAT For the cigarette lighter to work, the key must be in the "ACC" position or the "ON" position. To use the cigarette lighter, push it all the way into its socket. When theelement has heated, the lighter will pop out to the "ready" position. Do not hold the cigarette lighter pressedin. This can damage the heating ele- ment and create a fire hazard. If it is necessary to replace the ciga-rette lighter, use only a genuine Hyundai replacement or its approved equiva- lent. HHP2160

B430A01HP-GAT Front Ashtray The front ashtray may be opened by pushing and releasing the ashtray/ciga- rette lighter door at its top edge.To remove the ashtray in order to clean it, the metal ash receptacle should be removed from the ashtray door. Donot attempt to remove the entire ash- tray door assembly, or damage will result. Instead, lift the metal ash re-ceptacle upward and pull it out. To reinstall it, place it in the proper posi- tion and press it down and forward toreengage the ash receptacle rear lip in the ashtray door. The ashtray light will only illuminate when the exterior bodylights are switched on. HHP2167
B440A01E-AAT Rear Ashtray The rear ashtray may be opened by pulling it out by its top edge. To remove the ashtray to empty or clean it, pressdown on the spring-loaded tab inside the ashtray and lift the ashtray upward and pull it all the way out.

B450A02O-GAT Front Drink Holder The front drink holder is located on the main console for holding cups or cans.
WARNING:
o Use caution when using the drink holders. A spilled beverage thatis very hot can injure you or yourpassengers. Spilled liquids can damage interior trim and electri- cal components.
o Do not place objects other than cups or cans in the drink holder.Such objects can be thrown outin the event of a sudden stop or an accident, possibly injuring the passengers in the vehicle. HHP2177

B480B01Y-AAT Map Light Push in the map light switch to turn the light on or off. This light produces aspot beam for convenient use as a map light at night or as a personal light for the driver and the passenger. B480B01HP
2. Insert the hexagonal head wrench
provided with the vehicle into the socket. This wrench can be found in the glove box.
3. Turn the wrench clockwise to open or counterclockwise to close. HHP2022
B490A03Y-AAT Interior Light The interior courtesy light has three buttons. The three buttons are: o DOOR In the "DOOR" position, the interior courtesy light comes on when anydoor is opened regardless of the igni- tion key position. The light goes out gradually 6 seconds after the door isclosed. HHP2115

To avoid the possibility of injury in case of an accident or a sudden stop, the glove box door should be kept closed when the car is in mo-tion.
o To open the glove box, pull on the glove box release lever.

CAUTION:

B520A01A-AAT Your Hyundai is equipped with a day/ night inside rearview mirror. The "night" position is selected by flipping the tab at the bottom of the mirror toward you. In the "night" position, the glare ofheadlights of cars behind you is re- duced. HHP2071

B510C01A-AAT FOLDING THE OUTSIDE REAR- VIEW MIRRORS To fold the outside rearview mirrors, push them towards the rear.The outside rearview mirrors can be folded rearward for parking in narrow areas.
WARNING:
Do not adjust or fold the outside rearview mirrors while the vehicle is moving. This could result in lossof control, and an accident causing death, serious injury or property damage. B515A01HP-GAT (If Installed)

B530A02A-AAT Always engage the parking brake be- fore leaving the car. This also turns on the parking brake indicator light when the key is in the "ON" or "START" position. Before driving away, be surethat the parking brake is fully released and the indicator light is off.
o To engage the parking brake, first apply the foot brake and then without pressing the release button in, pullthe parking brake lever up as far as possible. In addition it is recom- mended that when parking the ve-hicle on a gradient, the shift lever should be positioned in the appropri- ate low gear on manual transmissionvehicles or in the P (Park) position on automatic transmission vehicles. B520B02O-GAT Electric type (If Installed) The electric type day/night inside rear- view mirror automatically controls the glare of headlights of the car behindyou.
1. Pressing the
button turns the auto-
dimming function OFF which is indi- cated by the green status indicator LED turning off.
2. Pressing the
button again turns
the auto-dimming function ON which is indicated by the green status indi- cator LED turning on.
NOTE: The mirror defaults to the "ON" posi- tion each time the vehicle is started. HLZ2068-1
CAUTION:
Driving with the parking brake ap-plied will cause excessive brake pad (or lining) and brake rotor wear.
o To release the parking brake, first apply the foot brake and pull the praking brake lever slightly. Sec- ondly, depress the release buttonand lower the parking brake lever while holding the button.

B540C01HP-GAT Luggage Compartment Light Luggage compartment light has a 3- position switch. The three positions are:
o In the "MIDDLE" position, the lug- gage compartment light comes on when the tail gate is opened, then goes out when it is closed.
o In the "ON" position, the light stays on at all times.
o In the "OFF" position, the light stays

B540D02HP-DAT Luggage Net Some objects can be kept in the net at the luggage compartment. Use the luggage net on the floor or atthe back of the luggage compartment to prevent objects from sliding. CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the goods or the vehicle, care should be taken when carrying fragile or bulky ob- jects in the luggage compartment.
WARNING:
Avoid eye injury. DO NOT over-stretch. ALWAYS keep face and body out of recoil path. DO NOT use when strap has visible signs ofwear or damage.

Fuel vapors are dangerous. Before refueling, always stop the engineand never allow sparks or open flames near the filler area. If you need to replace the filler cap, use agenuine Hyundai replacement part. If you open the fuel filler cap during high ambient temperatures, a slight"pressure sound" may be heard. This is normal and not a cause for concern.Whenever you open the fuel filler cap, turn it slowly. HHP2015-D
o Automotive fuels are flammable/
explosive materials. When refuel-ing, please note the following guidelines carefully.- Before touching the fuel nozzle or fuel filler cap, have one'shands in contact with metalparts away from the filler neck to discharge static electricity.
- Do not get back in the vehicle
while refueling. Do not operateanything that can produce static electricity. Static electricity dis- charge can ignite fuel vapors resulting in an explosion.
- When using a portable fuel con- tainer, be sure to place the con-tainer on the ground while refu-eling. Static electricity dis- charge from the container can ignite fuel vapors causing afire. While starting refueling, contact should be maintained until the filling is complete.
- Do not use cellular phones around a gas station. The elec-tric current or electronic inter-ference from cellular phones can ignite fuel vapors and cause a fire.
REMOTE FUEL-FILLER LID RELEASE
B560A02HP-GAT The fuel-filler lid may be opened from inside the vehicle by pulling up on the fuel-filler lid release lever located be- low the right of the driver's side crashpad. NOTE: If the fuel-filler lid will not open because ice has formed around it, tap lightly or push on the lid to break the ice and release the lid. Donot pry on the lid. If necessary, spray around the lid with an ap- proved de-icer fluid (do not useradiator anti-freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm place and allow the ice to melt. B560A01HP
