1. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR UNIFIED METER AND A/C AMP.
1. Disconnect unified meter and A/C amp. connector.
2. Check voltage between unified meter and A/C amp. harness
connector M56 terminals 21 (R/W), 22 (G/R) and 35 (LG/R), uni-
fied meter and A/C amp. harness connector M57 terminal 46 (L/
W) and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 2.
NG >> Check 10A and 15A fuses [Nos. 6, 10, 11, 12 and 19, located in the fuse block (J/B)]. Refer to PG-
83, "FUSE BLOCK - JUNCTION BOX (J/B)" .

If fuses are OK, check harness for open circuit. Repair or replace if necessary.

If fuses are NG, replace fuse and check harness for short circuit. Repair or replace if necessary.
2. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT FOR UNIFIED METER AND A/C AMP.
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Check continuity between unified meter and A/C amp. harness
connector M56 terminal 29 (B), 30 (B) and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> Replace unified meter and A/C amp.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.

1. CHECK POWER SUPPLY FOR BLOWER MOTOR
1. Disconnect blower motor connector.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.
3. Check voltage between blower motor harness connector M78
terminal 1 (L/W) and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 2.
NG >> Check power supply circuit and 15A fuses [Nos. 10 and
11, located in the fuse block (J/B)]. Refer to PG-83,
"FUSE BLOCK - JUNCTION BOX (J/B)" .

If OK, check for open circuit in wiring harness. Repair or replace if necessary.

If NG, replace fuse and check wiring harness for short circuit. Repair or replace if necessary.
2. CHECK BLOWER MOTOR GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Check continuity between blower motor harness connector M78
terminal 3 (B) and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.
3. CHECK CIRCUIT CONTINUITY BETWEEN BLOWER MOTOR AND UNIFIED METER AND A/C AMP.
1. Disconnect unified meter and A/C amp. connector.
2. Check continuity between blower motor harness connector M78
terminal 2 (G) and unified meter and A/C amp. harness connec-
tor M57 terminal 53 (G).
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 4.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.
4. CHECK UNIFIED METER AND A/C AMP. OUTPUT SIGNAL
1. Reconnect blower motor connector and unified meter and A/C amp. connector.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.
3. Vary the fan speed between Lo and Hi and confirm the duty
ratios between blower motor harness connector M78 terminal 21 – Ground : Battery voltage

Noise InspectionAKS00BMR
The vehicle itself can be a source of noise if noise prevention parts or electrical equipment is malfunction.
Check if noise is caused and/or changed by engine speed, ignition switch turned to each position, and opera-
tion of each piece of electrical equipment, and determine the cause.
NOTE:
The source of the noise can be found easily by listening to the noise while removing the fuses of electrical
components, one by one.
TYPE OF NOISE AND POSSIBLE CAUSE
Occurrence condition Possible cause
Occurs only when engine is
ON.A continuous growling noise occurs. The speed
of the noise varies with changes in the engine
speed.

Ignition condenser
A whistling noise occurs while the engine speed
is high. A booming noise occurs while the engine
is running and the lighting switch is ON.

Alternator
The occurrence of the noise is linked with the operation of the fuel pump.

Fuel pump condenser
Noise only occurs when various
electrical components are oper-
ating.A cracking or snapping sound occurs with the
operation of various switches.

Relay malfunction, radio malfunction
The noise occurs when various motors are oper-
ating.

Motor case ground

Motor
The noise occurs constantly, not just under certain conditions.

Rear window defogger coil malfunction

Open circuit in printed heater

Poor ground of antenna amplifier or
antenna feeder line

Mirror type film is attached on the rear win-
dow glass

After-market TV antenna and/or electrical
accessories such as radio are attached on
the rear window glass.
A cracking or snapping sound occurs while the vehicle is being driven, especially
when it is vibrating excessively.

Ground wire of body parts.

Ground due to incorrectinstallation of
parts.

Wiring connections or ashort circuit.

1. CHECK FUSE

Make sure that the following fuses of the BOSE speaker amp., woofer, and audio unit are not blown.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 2
NG >> If fuse is blown, be sure to eliminate cause of malfunction before installing new fuse. Refer to PG-
3, "POWER SUPPLY ROUTING CIRCUIT" .
2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1. Check voltage between the audio unit harness connector terminals and ground.
2. Turn ignition switch OFF.
3. Check voltage between BOSE speaker amp. harness connector
terminal or woofer harness connector terminal and ground.
OK or NG
OK >>
INSPECTION END (Audio unit is OK)

GO TO 3 (BOSE speaker amp. and woofer).
NG >>

Repair harness or connector.

1. CHECK FUSE
Make sure that the following fuses in display unit are not blown.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 2.
NG >> If fuse is blown be sure to eliminate case of malfunction before installing new fuse. Refer to PG-3,
"POWER SUPPLY ROUTING CIRCUIT" .
2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
Check voltage between display unit harness connector terminals
and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.
3. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect display unit connector.
3. Check continuity between display unit harness connector M62
terminals 6 (B), 15 (B) and ground.

1. CHECK FUSE
Check if the following fuses in A/C and AV switch are blown.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 2.
NG >> If fuse is blown be sure to eliminate case of malfunction before installing new fuse. Refer to PG-3,
"POWER SUPPLY ROUTING CIRCUIT" .
2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1. Check voltage between A/C and AV switch harness connector
terminals and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.
3. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect A/C and AV switch connector.
3. Check continuity between A/C and AV switch harness connector
M64 terminal 5 (B) and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> INSPECTION END
NG >> Repair harness or connector.

1. VEHICLE SPEED OPERATION CHECK
Does speedmeter is operated normally?
YES or NO
YES >> GO TO 2.
NO >> Check combination meter trouble diagnosis. Refer to DI-13, "

1. CHECK FUSE
Make sure that the following fuses of the NAVI control unit are not blown.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 2.
NG >> If fuse is blown, be sure to eliminate case of malfunction before installing new fuse. Refer to PG-3,
"POWER SUPPLY ROUTING CIRCUIT" .
2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1. Check voltage between NAVI control unit harness connector ter-
minals and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> Repair harness or connector.
3. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect NAVI control unit connector.
3. Check continuity between NAVI control unit harness connector
B208 terminals 1 (B), 4 (B) and ground.
OK or NG

OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 2.
NG >> If fuse is blown, be sure to eliminate cause of malfunction before installing new fuse. Refer to PG-
3, "POWER SUPPLY ROUTING CIRCUIT" .
2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1. Disconnect the combination meter connector and the unified meter and A/C amp. connector.
2. Check voltage between combination meter harness connector
terminals and ground.
3. Check voltage between unified meter and A/C amp. harness
connector terminals and ground.
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> Check the following.
