If any light does not come on, it may
indicate a burned-out bulb or an open circuit in the electrical system. Have the
system checked by an INFINITI retailer.
Some indicators and warnings are also
displayed on the dot matrix crystal display
between the speedometer and tachometer.

All-Wheel Drive (AWD) warning
light (AWD models) (if so equipped)
GUID-6272AC4F-020E-4475-8EA4-DEB8ABD3D971Thewarning light comes on when the
ignition switch is pushed to ON. It turns off
soon after the engine is started.
If the AWD system malfunctions, or the
diameter of the front and the rear wheels
are different, the warning light will either
remain illuminated or blink. (See “All-
Wheel Drive (AWD)” (P.5-45).)

Automatic Transmission (AT)

equipped)
GUID-12A09BA6-228C-4AB5-9EA2-02DEE0F0D92FWhen the ignition switch is pushed to the
“ON” position, the indicator shows the
automatic selector position.
In the manual shift mode, when the
transmission does not shift to the selected
gear due to a transmission protection
mode, the AT position indicator light will
blink and a chime will sound.
See “Automatic transmission” (P.5-14) for
further details.
Front fog light indicator lightGUID-E775FCDC-933F-4374-BAC3-DEE01A256BE0The front fog light indicator light illumi-
nates when the front fog lights are on. (See
“Fog light switch” (P.2-39).)
Front passenger air bag status
light

(
) will be lit and the passenger front air
bag will be OFF depending on how the front
passenger seat is being used.

High beam indicator lightGUID-CF1B5A86-829A-457D-AB7B-526C908A9C34This light comes on when the headlight
high beam is on and goes out when the low
beam is selected.
Exterior light indicatorGUID-719E4302-7BDF-4301-A5E8-B6A39286535AThis indicator illuminates when the head-
light switch is turned to the AUTO (if so
equipped),
orposition and the
front parking lights, instrument panel
lights, rear combination lights, license
plate lights or headlights are on. The
indicator turns off when these lights are
turned off.
Malfunction Indicator Light
(MIL)
GUID-31750F29-30E3-4506-AEB2-E92A82111EA9If the malfunction indicator light comes on
steady or blinks while the engine is
running, it may indicate a potential emis-
sion control malfunction.
The malfunction indicator light may also
come on steady if the fuel-filler cap is loose
or missing, or if the vehicle runs out of fuel.
Check to make sure the fuel-filler cap is
installed and closed tightly, and that the
vehicle has at least 3 US gallons (14 liters) of fuel in the fuel tank.
After a few driving trips, the
light
should turn off if no other potential
emission control system malfunction ex-
ists.
If this indicator light remains on for 20
seconds and then blinks for 10 seconds
when the engine is not running, it indicates
that the vehicle is not ready for an
emission control system inspection/main-
tenance test. (See “Readiness for Inspec-
tion/Maintenance (I/M) test (US only)” (P.9-
27).)
Operation:

on in one of two ways:
. Malfunction indicator light on steady —
An emission control system malfunc-
tion has been detected. Check the fuel-
filler cap. If the fuel-filler cap is loose or
missing, tighten or install the cap and
continue to drive the vehicle. The
light should turn off after a few driving
trips. If the
light does not turn off
after a few driving trips, have the
vehicle inspected by an INFINITI retai-
ler. You do not need to have your
vehicle towed to the retailer.

.Malfunction indicator light blinking —
An engine misfire has been detected
which may damage the emission con-
trol system.
To reduce or avoid emission control
system damage:
1) Do not drive at speeds above 45 MPH (72 km/h).
2) Avoid hard acceleration or decelera- tion.
3) Avoid steep uphill grades.
4) If possible, reduce the amount of cargo being hauled or towed.
The malfunction indicator light may
stop blinking and remain on.
Have the vehicle inspected by an
INFINITI retailer. You do not need to
have your vehicle towed to the retailer.
CAUTION
Continued vehicle operation without having
the emission control system checked and
repaired as necessary could lead to poor
driveability, reduced fuel economy, and
possible damage to the emission control
system.
Security indicator lightGUID-99C24DC6-544D-45AC-90DB-96CA87927F70The light blinks when the ignition switch is
in the ACC, OFF or LOCK position. This
function indicates the security system
equipped on the vehicle is operational.
If the security system is malfunctioning,
this light will remain on while the ignition
switch is in the ON position. For additional
information, see “Security systems” (P.2-
28).
Turn signal/hazard indicator
lights

switch lever or hazard switch is turned on.
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
off indicator light

dynamic control off switch is pushed to
OFF. This indicates that the vehicle dynamic
control system and traction control system
are not operating.

Key reminder chimeGUID-CF2F9D77-25F2-40E6-8D1D-517CC8383919A chime will sound if the driver side door is
opened while the ignition switch is pushed
to the ACC position or pushed to the OFF or
LOCK position with the Intelligent Key left
in the Intelligent Key port. Make sure the
ignition switch is pushed to the OFF
position, and take the Intelligent Key with
you when leaving the vehicle.
Light reminder chimeGUID-EB436840-830A-402A-A3BA-8D5BCF0162C6A chime will sound when the driver side
door is opened with the light switch in the
orposition and the ignition switch
in the ACC, OFF or LOCK position.
Turn the light switch off when you leave the
vehicle.
Parking brake reminder chimeGUID-44BA1A13-88DD-4711-BED2-C34A1A0970D0The parking brake reminder chime will
sound if the vehicle is driven at more than
4 MPH (7 km/h) with the parking brake
applied. Stop the vehicle and release the
parking brake.

Brake pad wear warningGUID-81F808C9-7883-4A77-9A99-E419C8DD7136The disc brake pads have audible wear
warnings. When a brake pad requires
replacement, it will make a high pitched
scraping sound when the vehicle is in
motion. This scraping sound will first occur
only when the brake pedal is depressed.
After more wear of the brake pad, the
sound will always be heard even if the
brake pedal is not depressed. Have the
brakes checked as soon as possible if the
warning sound is heard.

The dot matrix liquid crystal display*1is
located between the tachometer and the
speedometer, and it displays the auto-
matic transmission position indicator (if so
equipped), the Intelligent Cruise Control
(ICC) system (if so equipped) information,
the Intelligent Key operation information
and other warnings and information.
