Hood Latch
To open the hood, pull the hood release handle located
below the instrument panel . Slightly lift the hood upward
and pull the lever to the left to unlock the hood. Then insert
the support rod into the slot.
To close the hood, drop it from a height of 8-12 inches
(20-30 cm). If the hood sensor detects the hood is not
completely latched shut, the wipers will not function.

Sun Visors
Pull down the sun visor to block glare from the front.
Remove the sun visor from the center mount by lifting
it slightly and swing it to the side to block glare from
the side window.
Slide the sun visor out from the mount to further
extend the visor location.

To apply the parking brake, press the
electric parking brake handle
located
below the instrument panel, regardless of
the ignition switch position.
To release the parking brake, pull the
electric parking brake handle
toward
you while the ignition is on. The parking
brake will be automatically released when
you depress the accelerator pedal as long
as certain conditions are met, such as
having your seatbelt fastened.

Idle Stop/Start (ISS)
The ISS activates when certain conditions are met to prevent
unnecessary fuel consumption, exhaust emissions and noise.
To activate the ISS system:
•
Bring the
vehicle to a complete stop.
To restart the engine when the ISS system is active:
•
When the ISS s
ystem is active, the engine will restart as soon as you
take your foot off the brake pedal.
An ISS indicator light in the vehicle information display
will
inform you of the ISS status. The system can be temporarily deactivated
by pushing the Idle Stop/Start system on/off switch
on the
instrument panel.

All power windows can be operated through
the main switch on the driver’s door.
Power windows open/close.
Disable rear passenger window
operation by rear passengers.

POWER WINDOW CONVENIENCE
OPENING/CLOSING FEATURE
The vehicle can be locked/unlocked and
the power windows can be closed/opened
simultaneously from outside the vehicle
using the Intelligent Key as follows:
To lock the vehicle and close the power
windows simultaneously, touch the sensor
surface
on the door handle until the
windows are fully closed.
To unlock the vehicle and open the
windows simultaneously, press and hold
the
button on the Intelligent Key until the
windows have reached the desired position.

SYSTEM OPERATING TIPS
•
The in
terior of the vehicle should be as quiet as possible.
•
Speak
naturally. Speaking too fast, too slow, too soft, or too
loud makes voice recognition more difficult.
•
C
onfirm that the correct voice commands are being used.
Glance at the screen to see the currently available commands.
USING THE VOICE RECOGNITION SYSTEM
•
Pr
ess the
button on the steering wheel, and a list of
commands will appear on the screen.
•
A
fter the tone sounds, speak the command.
•
T
o skip the voice prompt and give the command immediately,
press the
button on the steering wheel to interrupt the
system. Speak the next command after the tone sounds.
•
T
o cancel the command, press and hold the
button on
the steering wheel.

Intelligent Park Assist (IPA)
(if so equipped)
The Intelligent Park Assist (IPA) is an electronic parking aid. On straight and
even roads, IPA can be used to park in parallel spaces and to reverse into
perpendicular spaces.
To park using IPA:
•
When the IP
A detects a parking space,
the parking symbol
will appear in the
vehicle information display. To park in that
space, stop the vehicle and shift into the
(R) Reverse position.
•
A
"Start Park Assist" message will appear in
the vehicle information display. Press the
OK button on the steering wheel to enable
the IPA, or press the
button to cancel
the operation.
•
R
elease the steering wheel and continue to control the accelerator,
brake and gear shift to maneuver into the parking space.
•
S
top as soon as the sonar function sounds the continuous warning tone,
if not before. A message will appear in the vehicle information display if
you need to change gears.
•
When the pr
ocedure is complete, a "ParkAssist switched off" message
will appear in the vehicle information display. Shift into the (P) Park
position, and apply the electric parking brake to secure the vehicle.

Cruise Control
CONVENTIONAL CRUISE CONTROL (IF SO EQUIPPED)
Cruise control maintains a constant set speed for you. The system is operational only at
speeds above 20 mph (30 km/h).
Pull the lever toward you to recall the previous speed.
Lift the lever up to the pressure point and release the lever to increase the speed by 1 mph (1.6 km/h).
Push the le ver down to the pressure point and release the lever to decrease the speed by
1 mph (1.6 km/h).
Lift the lever upward beyond the pressure point and release the lever to increase the speed to the nearest multiple of 5 mph (8 km/h).
Push the le ver downward beyond the pressure point and release the lever to decrease the
speed to the nearest multiple of 5 mph (8 km/h).
To override the current stored speed with your current real speed, quickly move the stalk
up
or down .
To deactivate cruise control, push the lever
away from you or push the brake pedal.
INTELLIGENT CRUISE CONTROL (ICC) (IF SO EQUIPPED)
The ICC system is designed to maintain a selected distance from the vehicle in front of you
and reduce the speed to match a slower vehicle ahead.
To increase the distance to the vehicle ahead to be maintained by the ICC system, turn the
knob
clockwise. To reduce the distance, turn the knob counterclockwise.
