Deactivating/activating VDC:
The vehicle should be driven with the Vehicle
Dynamic Control (VDC) system on for most
driving conditions.
If the vehicle is stuck in mud or snow, the
VDC system reduces the engine output to
reduce wheel spin. The engine speed will be
reduced even if the accelerator is depressed
to the floor. If maximum engine power is
needed to free a stuck vehicle, turn the VDC
system off.

hicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system".
1. Start the engine.
2. Press the
orbutton on the
steering wheel to select the [DriveAssist]
menu.
3. Press the
orbutton to select
[ESP].
4. Press the button.
The current selection is displayed.5. To activate/deactivate: press the
button again.
VDC is deactivated if the
warning
light in the combination meter lights up
continuously when the engine is running.
If both the
warning light andwarning light are lit continuously, VDC is not
available due to a malfunction.
Activating/deactivating Forward Emergency
Braking:
1. Press theorbutton on the
steering wheel to select the [DriveAssist]
menu.
2. Press the
orbutton to select
[Emergency Brake].
3. Press the button.
The current selection is displayed.
4. To activate/deactivate: press the
button again.
When Forward Emergency Braking is de-
activated, the
symbol appears in the
vehicle information display in the assis-
tance graphic display.

If VDC is not operational, VDC is unable to stabilize the vehicle. There is an increased danger of skidding and risk of an accident.
Carefully drive on a suitable stretch of road, making slight steering movements, at a speed above 12 MPH (20 km/h). If the display
message disappears, the functions mentioned above are available again.
If the display message continues to be displayed, drive on carefully and have the system checked. It is recommended you visit an
INFINITI retailer for this service.

The electric parking brake is malfunctioning, e.g. because of overvoltage or undervoltage.
1. Rectify the cause of the overvoltage or undervoltage, e.g. by charging the battery or restarting the engine.
2. Apply or release the electric parking brake.
If the electric parking brake still cannot be applied or released:
1. Switch the ignition off and turn it back on.
2. Apply or release the electric parking brake manually.
If the electric parking brake still cannot be applied or released, it is recommended you consult an INFINITI retailer.

WARNING•Your brake system may not be working properly if the warning light is on. Driving could be dangerous. If you judge it to be safe,
drive carefully to the nearest service station for repairs. Otherwise, have your vehicle towed because driving it could be
dangerous.
•Pressing the brake pedal with the engine stopped and/or low brake fluid level may increase your stopping distance and braking
will require greater pedal effort as well as pedal travel.
•If the brake fluid level is below the minimum or MIN mark on the brake fluid reservoir, do not drive until the brake system has
