– On roads where the traffic is heavy or
there are sharp curves
– On slippery road surfaces such as on
ice or snow, etc.
– During bad weather (rain, fog, snow,
etc.)
– When rain, snow or dirt adhere to the
bumper around the distance sensor
– On steep downhill roads (the vehicle
may go beyond the set vehicle speed
and frequent braking may result in
overheating the brakes)
– On repeated uphill and downhill
roads
– When traffic conditions make it diffi-
cult to keep a proper distance be-
tween vehicles because of frequent
acceleration or deceleration
●Do not use the Intelligent Cruise Con-
trol system if you are towing a trailer.
The system may not detect a vehicle
ahead.●In some road or traffic conditions, a
vehicle or object can unexpectedly
come into the sensor detection zone
and cause automatic braking. You may
need to control the distance from other
vehicles using the accelerator pedal. Al-
ways stay alert and avoid using the ICC
system when it is not recommended in
this section.
VEHICLE-TO-VEHICLE DISTANCE
CONTROL MODE OPERATION
Always pay attention to the operation of the ve-
hicle and be ready to manually control the proper
following distance. The vehicle-to-vehicle dis-
tance control mode of the Intelligent Cruise Con-
trol (ICC) system may not be able to maintain the
selected distance between vehicles (following
distance) or selected vehicle speed under some
circumstances.
The vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode
uses a sensor
Alocated behind the front bum-
per of the vehicle to detect vehicles traveling
ahead. The sensor generally detects the signals

returned from the vehicle ahead. Therefore, if the
sensor cannot detect the reflection from the ve-
hicle ahead, the ICC system may not maintain the
selected distance.
The following are some conditions in which the
sensor cannot detect the signals:
●When snow or road spray from traveling
vehicles reduces the sensor’s visibility
●When excessively heavy baggage is loaded
in the rear seat or the luggage room of your
vehicle
The ICC system is designed to automatically
check the sensor’s operation within the limitation
of the system. When the front bumper area
around the distance sensor is covered with dirt or
is obstructed, the system will automatically can-
cel. If the front bumper area around the distance
sensor is covered with ice, a transparent or trans-
lucent vinyl bag, etc., the ICC system may not
detect them. In these instances, the vehicle to
vehicle distance control mode may not cancel
and may not be able to maintain the selected
following distance from the vehicle ahead. Be
sure to check and clean the front bumper area
around the distance sensor regularly.
The vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode is
designed to maintain a selected distance and
reduce the speed to match the slower vehicleahead. The system will decelerate the vehicle as
necessary and if the vehicle ahead comes to a
stop, the vehicle decelerates to a standstill. How-
ever, the ICC system can only apply up to 25% of
the vehicles total braking power. This system
should only be used when traffic conditions allow
vehicle speeds to remain fairly constant or when
vehicle speeds change gradually. If a vehicle
moves into the traveling lane ahead or if a vehicle
traveling ahead rapidly decelerates, the distance
between vehicles may become closer because
the ICC system cannot decelerate the vehicle
quickly enough. If this occurs, the ICC system will
sound a warning chime and blink the system
display to notify the driver to take necessary
action.
The system will cancel and a warning chime will
sound if the speed is below approximately
15 MPH (24 km/h) and a vehicle is not detected
ahead. The system will also disengage when the
vehicle goes above the maximum set speed.
See “Approach warning” later in this section.
The following items are controlled in the vehicle-
to-vehicle distance control mode:
●When there are no vehicles traveling ahead,
the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control
mode maintains the speed set by the driver.
The set speed range is between approxi-
mately 20 and 90 MPH (32 and 144 km/h).●When there is a vehicle traveling ahead, the
vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode
adjusts the speed to maintain the distance,
selected by driver, from the vehicle ahead.
The adjusting speed range is up to the set
speed. If the vehicle ahead comes to a stop,
the vehicle decelerates to a standstill within
the limitations of the system. The system will
cancel once it judges a standstill with a
warning chime.
●When the vehicle traveling ahead has moved
out from its lane of travel, the vehicle-to-
vehicle distance control mode accelerates
and maintains vehicle speed up to the set
speed.
The ICC system does not control vehicle speed
or warn you when you approach stationary and
slow moving vehicles. You must pay attention to
vehicle operation to maintain proper distance
from vehicles ahead when approaching toll gates
or traffic congestion.

Operating conventional (fixed speed)
cruise control mode
To turn on the conventional (fixed speed)
cruise control mode,push and hold the
CRUISE ON/OFF switch
Afor longer than
about 1.5 seconds.
When pushing the CRUISE ON/OFF switch on,
the Intelligent Cruise Control system display and
the CRUISE indicator are displayed in the vehicle
information display. After you hold the CRUISE
ON/OFF switch on for longer than about 1.5 sec-
onds, the Intelligent Cruise Control system dis-
play goes out. The CRUISE indicator stays lit.
You can now set your desired cruising speed.Pushing the CRUISE ON/OFF switch again will
turn the system completely off.
When the ignition switch is pushed to the OFF
position, the system is also automatically turned
off. To use the Intelligent Cruise Control again,
quickly push and release the CRUISE ON/OFF
switch (vehicle-to-vehicle distance control
mode) or push and hold it (conventional cruise
control mode) again to turn it on.
When the Distance Control Assist (DCA) system
is on, the conventional (fixed speed) cruise con-
trol mode cannot be turned on even though the
CRUISE ON/OFF switch is pushed and held.
To turn on the conventional (fixed speed) cruise
control mode, turn off the DCA system. See
“Distance Control Assist (DCA) system” in this
section.CAUTION
To avoid accidentally engaging cruise con-
trol, make sure to turn the ON/OFF switch
off when not using the Intelligent Cruise
Control.To set cruising speed,accelerate your vehicle
to the desired speed, push the COAST/SET
switch and release it. (The SET indicator will
come on in the display.) Take your foot off the
accelerator pedal. Your vehicle will maintain the
set speed.
●To pass another vehicle,depress the ac-
celerator pedal. When you release the
pedal, the vehicle will return to the previously
set speed.
●The vehicle may not maintain the set speed
when going up or down steep hills. If this
happens, manually maintain vehicle speed.

DISTANCE CONTROL ASSIST
OPERATION
Always pay attention to the operation of the ve-
hicle and be ready to manually decelerate to
maintain the proper following distance. The Dis-
tance Control Assist (DCA) system may not be
able to decelerate the vehicle under some cir-
cumstances.
The DCA system uses a sensor
Alocated be-
hind the front bumper of the vehicle to detect
vehicles traveling ahead. The sensor generally
detects the signals returned from the vehicleahead. Therefore, if the sensor cannot detect the
reflection from the vehicle ahead, the DCA sys-
tem may not operate.
The following are some conditions in which the

●When the reflector of the vehicle ahead is
covered with dirt, snow and road spray
●When dense exhaust or other smoke (black
smoke) from vehicles reduces the sensor’s
visibility
●When excessively heavy baggage is loaded
in the rear seat or the luggage room of your
vehicle
The DCA system is designed to automatically
check the sensor’s operation. When the front
bumper area around the distance sensor is cov-
ered with dirt or is obstructed, the system will
automatically cancel. If the front bumper area of
the distance sensor is covered with ice, a trans-
parent or translucent vinyl bag, etc., the DCA
system may not detect them. In these instances,
the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode may
not cancel and may not be able to maintain the
selected following distance from the vehicle
ahead. Be sure to check and clean the front
bumper area around the distance sensor regu-
larly.The DCA system is designed to help assist the
driver to maintain a following distance from the
vehicle ahead. The system will decelerate as nec-
essary and if the vehicle ahead comes to a stop,
the vehicle decelerates to a standstill. However,
the DCA system can only apply up to 25% of the
vehicles total braking power. If a vehicle moves
into the traveling lane ahead or if a vehicle travel-
ing ahead rapidly decelerates, the distance be-

This system only brakes and moves the accelera-
tor pedal upward to help assist the driver to
maintain a following distance from the vehicle
ahead. Acceleration should be operated by the
driver.
The DCA system does not control vehicle speed
or warn you when you approach stationary and
slow moving vehicles. You must pay attention to
vehicle operation to maintain proper distance
from vehicles ahead.

All-Wheel Drive (AWD) models
INFINITI recommends that towing dollies be used
when towing your vehicle or the vehicle be
placed on a flat bed truck as illustrated.
CAUTION
Never tow AWD models with any of the
wheels on the ground as this may cause
serious and expensive damage to the
powertrain.

Front-Wheel Drive models
INFINITI recommends that your vehicle be towed
with the driving wheels (front) off the ground or
place the vehicle on a flat bed truck as illustrated.
WARNING
●Never tow your vehicle with the front
wheels on the ground or four wheels on
the ground (forward or backward) , as
this may cause serious and expensive
damage to the transmission. If it is nec-
essary to tow the vehicle with the rear
wheels raised always use towing dollies
under the front wheels.●When towing with the rear wheels on
the ground or on towing dollies, place
the ignition switch in the ACC or ON
position, and secure the steering wheel
in the straight-ahead position with a
rope or similar device.
VEHICLE RECOVERY (freeing a stuck
vehicle)
Pulling a stuck vehicle
WARNING
To avoid vehicle damage, serious personal
injury or death when recovering a stuck
vehicle:
●Contact a professional towing service
to recover the vehicle if you have any
questions regarding the recovery
procedure.
●Attach recovery devices only to main
structural members of the vehicle or the
recovery hooks.
●Do not use the vehicle tie-downs to tow
or free a stuck vehicle.
●Only use devices specifically designed
for vehicle recovery and follow the
manufacturer’s instructions.
●Always pull the recovery device straight
out from the front of the vehicle. Never
pull at an angle.
●Route recovery devices so they do not
touch any part of the vehicle except the
attachment point.

●Clean oil based stains by patting the
surface with a clean soft cloth damp-
ened in warm water. Press a clean dry
cloth onto the surface to remove as
much dampness as possible and then
let air dry.
FLOOR MATS
WARNING
To avoid potential pedal interference that
may result in a collision or injury:
●NEVER place a floor mat on top of an-
other floor mat in the driver front
position.
●Use only genuine INFINITI floor mats
specifically designed for use in your ve-
hicle model. See your INFINITI retailer
for more information.
●Properly position the mats in the floor-
well using the floor mat positioning aid.
SeeFloor mat positioning aidin this
section.
The use of genuine INFINITI floor mats can ex-
tend the life of your vehicle carpet and make it
easier to clean the interior. Mats should be main-
tained with regular cleaning and replaced if they
become excessively worn.

TIRE PRESSURE
Tire Pressure Monitoring System
(TPMS)
This vehicle is equipped with the Tire
Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) . It
monitors tire pressure of all tires except
the spare. When the low tire pressure
warning light is lit and the “Tire Pressure
Low – Add Air” warning appears in the
vehicle information display, one or more of
your tires is significantly under-inflated. If
equipped, the system also displays pres-
sure of all tires (except the spare tire) on
the display screen by sending a signal
from a sensor that is installed in each
wheel.
The TPMS will activate only when the
vehicle is driven at speeds above 16 MPH
(25 km/h). Also, this system may not de-
tect a sudden drop in tire pressure (for
example a flat tire while driving) .For more details, refer to “Low tire pres-
sure warning light” in the “Instruments and
controls” section and “Flat tire” in the “In
case of emergency” section.
Tire inflation pressure
Check the tire pressures (including the
spare) often and always prior to long dis-
tance trips. The recommended tire pres-
sure specifications are shown on the
F.M.V.S.S./C.M.V.S.S. certification label
or the Tire and Loading Information label
under the “Cold Tire Pressure” heading.
The Tire and Loading Information label is
affixed to the driver side center pillar. Tire
pressures should be checked regularly
because:
●Most tires naturally lose air over time.
●Tires can lose air suddenly when
driven over potholes or other objects
or if the vehicle strikes a curb while
parking.The tire pressures should be checked
when the tires are cold. The tires are
considered COLD after the vehicle has
been parked for 3 or more hours, or driven
less than 1 mile (1.6 km) at moderate
speeds.
The TPMS with Tire Inflation Indicator
provides visual and audible signals out-
side the vehicle for inflating the tires to the
recommended COLD tire pressure. For
more information, see “TPMS with Tire
Inflation Indicator” in the “Starting and
driving” section.
Incorrect tire pressure, including un-
der inflation, may adversely affect
tire life and vehicle handling.

Tire and loading information label
1Seating capacity: The maximum num-
ber of occupants that can be seated
in the vehicle.
2Original tire size: The size of the tires
originally installed on the vehicle at
the factory.
3Cold tire pressure: Inflate the tires to
this pressure when the tires are cold.
Tires are considered COLD after the
vehicle has been parked for 3 or more
hours, or driven less than 1 mile
(1.6 km) at moderate speeds. The
recommended cold tire inflation is set
by the manufacturer to provide the
best balance of tire wear, vehicle
handling, driveability, tire noise, etc.,
up to the vehicle’s GVWR.

Other Tire-related Terminology
In addition to the many terms that are
defined throughout this section, Intended
Outboard Sidewall is (1) the sidewall that
contains a whitewall, bears white lettering
or bears manufacturer, brand, and/or
model name molding that is higher or
deeper than the same molding on the
other sidewall of the tire, or (2) the out-
ward facing sidewall of an asymmetrical
tire that has a particular side that must
always face outward when mounted on a
vehicle.
TYPES OF TIRES
WARNING
●When changing or replacing tires, be
sure all four tires are of the same type
(i.e., Summer, All Season or Snow) and
construction. An INFINITI retailer may
be able to help you with information
about tire type, size, speed rating and
availability.
●Replacement tires may have a lower
speed rating than the factory equipped
tires, and may not match the potential
maximum vehicle speed. Never exceed
the maximum speed rating of the tire.
●Replacing tires with those not originally
specified by INFINITI could affect the
proper operation of the low tire pres-
sure warning system.
●For additional information regarding
tires, refer to “Important Tire Safety In-
formation” (US) or “Tire Safety Informa-
tion” (Canada) in the Warranty Informa-
tion Booklet.
All season tires
INFINITI specifies All Season tires on some mod-
els to provide good performance all year, includ-
ing snowy and icy road conditions. All Season
tires are identified by ALL SEASON and/or M&S
on the tire sidewall. Snow tires have better snow
traction than All Season tires and may be more
appropriate in some areas.
Summer tires
INFINITI specifies summer tires on some models
to provide superior performance on dry roads.
Summer tire performance is substantially re-
duced in snow and ice. Summer tires do not have
the tire traction rating “M&S” on the tire sidewall.
If you plan to operate your vehicle in snowy or icy
conditions, INFINITI recommends the use of
SNOW tires or ALL SEASON tires on all four
wheels.
Snow tires
If snow tires are needed, it is necessary to select
tires equivalent in size and load rating to the
original equipment tires. If you do not, it can
adversely affect the safety and handling of your
vehicle.
