Ignition on:
• With the Jaguar Smart Key inside the vehicle,
press the START STOP button to switch on
ignition.
• A second press will switch off the ignition.
Engine start
• The selector lever must be in Park orNeutral
position to enable engine starting.
• With the footbrake depressed, press and release the START STOP button to start the engine.
• Press again to stop the engine and switch off the ignition.
Rolling start
If the engine is switched off while the vehicle is
moving, it can be restarted by selecting Nposition
then pressing the START STOPbutton.
Operating note
The engine will continue to run even if the Smart
Key is removed from the vehicle by more than 3ft
(\f metre). However, if the engine is stopped, it
cannot be restarted until the Smart Key is returned
to the vehicle.

Gearshift interlock

Automatic gear selection
Select Dfor fully automatic gear changes.
Sport mode
This is an automatic gear change mode, however,
change points are modified to make full use of engine
power.
Press the selector down and rotate from Dto Sport.
Manual gear changes
Manual gear change mode is effective when rapid
acceleration and engine braking are required.
• To shift down, briefly pull the left (\b) paddle.
• To shift up, briefly pull the right (+) paddle.
When the paddles are used in D,gear selection will
revert to automatic if use of the paddles is not
maintained. With Sselected, continuous manual
operation is initiated if the paddles are used.
NOTE: To return to automatic operation pull and hold
the right hand paddle for two seconds.
Operating note
If the engine is switched off with Neutral selected,
automatic selection of Pis delayed for \f0 minutes.
DO NOT use this feature to enable towing of the
vehicle. Refer to Vehicle recovery in the Owner’s
Handbook.

Applying • With the vehicle stationary, lift up the parking brake lever and then release it. The red warning
indicator in the instrument panel will illuminate.Releasing
• With the ignition on, apply the foot brake and press down on the parking brake lever.
• If the vehicle is stationary with the parking brake applied and either Drive orReverse selected,
pressing the accelerator will automatically release
the parking brake.
NOTE: Do \fOT use the recess in the electric parking
brake as a storage area.

Automatic wipers are activated by a rain sensor.
When the wiper control is moved up to the first
position the wipers will operate automatically as
required. Sensitivity can be adjusted.
First stop for auto position.
\bRain sensor maximum sensitivity.
Rain sensor minimum sensitivity.
When AUTO is selected on the lighting control
the side lamps and headlamps will turn on
automatically when ambient light fades.
With the control in the low beam position, high
beam will activate automatically when ambient
light falls below a pre set level. Vehicle speed
must be above 25 mph (40 km/h).
The headlamps can be set to temporarily
light your way when you exit the car at night.
Rotate the contol for exit delay periods of 30
seconds, 60 seconds or \f20 seconds.

Automatic car wash
Before entering an automatic car wash, turn the
wipers off to deactivate the rain sensor. Otherwise,
the wipers will operate during the washing process
and may be damaged.

Compatible Bluetooth cell phones can communicate
with the vehicle’s inbuilt telephone system.
Connection must be made with ignition on or engine
running.
Pairing and connecting using the touch screen
Up to 5 cell phones can be paired to the vehicle
system. Before starting the pairing process, ensure
your Bluetooth phone is in ‘discoverable’ mode,
sometimes referred to as ‘find me’ mode. See your
operating instructions for more information.
1\b From the touch\bscreen HOME MENU, select
Comms orPhone. A new menu will be displayed.
\f\b Select Settings thenSearch new\b
3\b Select your cell phone from the list.
4\b When prompted, enter the displayed four digit
code into your cell phone. See your operating
instructions for more information.
5\b Confirmation of connection will be displayed.
Changing a connected phone
To change from the currently connected cell phone to
another that has already been paired, follow the
steps below:
1\b From the HOME MENU, select CommsorPhone .
\f\b Select Settings thenChange phone .
3\b Select a phone and select the corresponding
Dock option.
Automatic downloading of phonebook entries
The vehicle phonebook can be updated each time a
cell phone is docked to the system.
1\b Select Settings thenPhone options .
\f\b Select Phonebook .
3\b Select Auto download Off orOn.

Making a call
1\b With a paired and active phone, select Phoneor
Comms from the Home screen.
\f\b From the Digit Dial screen, enter the number
using the on\bscreen keypad.
3\b Touch icon on the screen to make the call.

Calls via the steering wheel controls
Press and hold the Sourcehardkey to access
phone mode on the touch\bscreen and
message center
.
Use the scroll control to find the desired
phonebook contact.
Press to dial or answer a call. Press again to
end a call.
Telephone echo
If echo is experienced when using the phone,
reduce the audio system volume during the call.

Bluetooth selection
When the starter is turned on, the vehicle searches
for up to 5 previously connected phones, starting
