Key Fob Battery Replacement
The recommended replacement battery is CR2032.
NOTE:Perchlorate Material – special handling may apply.

1. With the key fob buttons facing down, use a flat blade screwdriver to pry the two halves of the key fob apart.
Use extreme care not to damage the seal or internal
components. 2. Remove and replace the battery. Avoid touching the new
battery with your fingers. Skin oils may cause battery
deterioration. If you touch a battery, clean it with
rubbing alcohol.
3. To reassemble the key fob case, snap the two halves together.
Programming Additional Key Fobs
Refer to “Sentry Key” in “Getting To Know Your Vehicle”
for further information.
If you do not have a programmed key fob, contact your
authorized dealer for details.
General Information

Cargo Lamp
The courtesy and dome lights will turn on when the front
doors are opened, by rotating the control for the dimmer
switch on the multifunction lever fully upward, or if
equipped, when the unlock button is pushed on the
Remote Keyless Entry key fob.
The sports bar reading lights (available on four-door
models) can be turned on by pushing the switches, located
on either side of the lens. Push a switch a second time to
turn the light off.The rear cargo light may be turned on by pushing the lens.
Push the lens a second time to turn the light off.
When a door is open and the interior lights are on, rotating
the dimmer control to the extreme bottom position will
cause all the interior lights to turn off. This is also known
as the “Party” mode because it allows the doors to stay
open for extended periods of time without discharging the
vehicle’s battery.

If the engine has been flooded, it may start to run, but not
have enough power to continue running when the key is
released. If this occurs, continue cranking with the accel-
erator pedal pushed all the way to the floor. Release the
accelerator pedal and the key once the engine is running
smoothly.
If the engine shows no sign of starting after two 15-second
periods of cranking with the accelerator pedal held to the
floor, repeat the “Normal Starting” or “Extreme Cold
Weather” procedures.
With Tip Start — Automatic Transmission Only
If the engine fails to start after you have followed the
“Normal Starting” or “Extreme Cold Weather” procedures,
it may be flooded. To clear any excess fuel, push the
accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and hold it. Then,
turn the ignition switch to the START position and release
it as soon as the starter engages. The starter motor will
disengage automatically in 10 seconds. Once this occurs,
release the accelerator pedal, turn the ignition switch to the
LOCK position, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then repeat the
“Normal Starting” procedure.CAUTION!
To prevent damage to the starter, wait 10 to 15 seconds
before trying again.
After Starting
The idle speed is controlled automatically, and it will
decrease as the engine warms up.
ENGINE BLOCK HEATER — IF EQUIPPED
The engine block heater warms the engine, and permits
quicker starts in cold weather. Connect the cord to a
standard 110-115 Volt AC electrical outlet with a grounded,
three-wire extension cord.
The engine block heater must be plugged in at least one
hour to have an adequate warming effect on the engine.
The engine block heater cord is found under the hood
bundled in front of the battery tray.
WARNING!
Remember to disconnect the engine block heater cord
before driving. Damage to the 110-115 Volt AC electri-
cal cord could cause electrocution.

Proper towing or lifting equipment is required to prevent
damage to your vehicle. Use only tow bars and other
equipment designed for this purpose, following equipment
manufacturer ’s instructions. Use of safety chains is man-
datory. Attach a tow bar or other towing device to main
structural members of the vehicle, not to bumpers or
associated brackets. State and local laws regarding vehicles
under tow must be observed.
If you must use the accessories (wipers, defrosters, etc.)
while being towed, the ignition must be in the ON/RUN
position, not the ACC position.
If the vehicle’s battery is discharged, refer to “Gear Selector
Override” in this section for instructions on shifting the
automatic transmission out of PARK for towing.
CAUTION!
•Do not use sling type equipment when towing.
Vehicle damage may occur.
• When securing the vehicle to a flat bed truck, do not
attach to front or rear suspension components. Dam-
age to your vehicle may result from improper towing.
Without The Ignition Key
Special care must be taken when the vehicle is towed with
the ignition in the LOCK position. The only approved
method of towing without the ignition key is with a flatbed
truck. Proper towing equipment is necessary to prevent
damage to the vehicle.
Four–Wheel Drive Models
The manufacturer recommends towing with all wheels
OFF the ground. Acceptable methods are to tow the vehicle
on a flatbed or with one end of the vehicle raised and the
opposite end on a towing dolly.
If flatbed equipment is not available and the transfer case is
operable, the vehicle may be towed (in the forward direction,
with ALLwheels on the ground), IFthe transfer case is in
NEUTRAL (N) and the transmission is in PARK(for auto-
matic transmissions) or in gear ( NOTinNEUTRAL, for
manual transmissions). Refer to “Recreational Towing” in
“Starting And Operating” for detailed instructions.

Turning Confirmation Prompts On/Off
Turning confirmation prompts off will stop the system
from confirming your choices (e.g., the Uconnect Phone
will not repeat a phone number before you dial it).
To turn confirmation prompts on or off using Voice Command:
1. Push the Phonebutton to begin.
2. After the “Ready” prompt and the following beep, say:•“Setup Confirmations Prompts On”
• “Setup Confirmations Prompts Off”
Phone And Network Status Indicators
If available on the radio and/or on a premium display such
as the instrument panel cluster, and supported by your
mobile phone, the Uconnect Phone will provide notifica-
tion to inform you of your phone and network status when
you are attempting to make a phone call using Uconnect
Phone. The status is given for roaming, network signal
strength, phone battery strength, etc.
Dialing Using The Mobile Phone Keypad
You can dial a phone number with your mobile phone
keypad and still use the Uconnect Phone (while dialing via
the mobile phone keypad, the user must exercise caution and take precautionary safety measures). By dialing a
number with your paired Bluetooth mobile phone, the
audio will be played through your vehicles audio system.
The Uconnect Phone will work the same as if you dial the
number using Voice Command.
NOTE:
Certain brands of mobile phones do not send the dial
ring to the Uconnect Phone to play it on the vehicle audio
system, so you will not hear it. Under this situation, after
successfully dialing a number the user may feel that the call
did not go through even though the call is in progress. Once
your call is answered, you will hear the audio.
Mute/Un-Mute (Mute ON/OFF)
When you mute the Uconnect Phone, you will still be able
to hear the conversation coming from the other party, but
the other party will not be able to hear you. To mute the
Uconnect Phone:
• Push the Voice Command
button.
•Following the beep, say “Mute.”
To un-mute the Uconnect Phone:
• Push the Voice Command
button.
•Following the beep, say “Mute off.”
