LIGHT BULBS
Use only the bulbs of the specifiedwattage.
✽✽ NOTICE
After driving in heavy rain or washing the vehicle, headlight and taillight lenses
could appear foggy. This condition is
caused by the temperature differencebetween the lamp inside and outside.
This is similar to the condensation on
your windows inside your vehicle during
rain and does not indicate a problem
with your vehicle. If the water leaks into
the lamp bulb circuitry, we recommendthat the system be checked by an
authorized Kia dealer.WARNING - Working on
the lights
Prior to working on the light, firmly
apply the parking brake, ensure
that the ignition switch is turned to
the “LOCK” position (smart key:turn off the engine) and turn off the
lights to avoid sudden movement
of the vehicle and burning your fin-
gers or getting an electric shock.
CAUTION
Be sure to replace the burned-out bulb with one of the same wattage rating. Otherwise, it may causedamage to the fuse or electricwiring system.
CAUTION
If you do not have necessary tools, the correct bulbs and the
expertise, we recommend thatyou consult an authorized Kiadealer. In many cases, it is diffi-cult to replace vehicle light bulbs
because other parts of the vehiclemust be removed before you can get to the bulb. This is especially
true if you have to remove the headlight assembly to get to thebulb(s).
Removing/installing the headlightassembly can result in damage to
the vehicle.
Do not install additional bulb or LED. If you install that, the lampmay not be operated properly and
fuse box or electric wiring system may have problem.

Safety system of your vehicle
Seat belt precautionsCAUTION
If the pre-tensioner seat belt is notworking properly, the SRS air bag
warning light will illuminate even ifthere is no malfunction of the SRSair bag. If the SRS air bag warning light does not illuminate when the
ignition key is turned to ON, or if itremains illuminated after illuminat-ing for approximately 6 seconds, or
if it illuminates whilst the vehicle isbeing driven, we recommend thatthe system be inspected by anauthorised Kia dealer.
WARNING
Pre-tensioners are designed to operate only one time. After acti-
vation, pre-tensioner seat belts
must be replaced. All seat belts,
of any type, should always be
replaced after they have been
worn during a collision.
(Continued)
WARNING
All occupants of the vehicle must wear their seat belts at all times.
Seat belts and child restraintsreduce the risk of serious or fatal
injuries for all occupants in the
event of a collision or sudden stop.
Without a seat belt, occupants
could be shifted too close to a
deploying air bag, strike the interior
structure or be thrown from the
vehicle. Properly worn seat belts
greatly reduce these hazards.
Always follow the precautions
about seat belts, air bags and occu-
pant seat contained in this manual.
(Continued)
The pre-tensioner seat belt assembly mechanisms become
hot during activation. Do not
touch the pre-tensioner seat belt
assemblies for several minutes
after they have been activated.
Do not attempt to inspect or replace the pre-tensioner seat
belts yourself. We recommend
that the system be inspected by
an authorised Kia dealer.
Do not attempt to service or repair the pre-tensioner seat belt
system in any manner.
Improper handling of the pre-ten- sioner seat belt assemblies, and failure to heed the warnings not
to strike, modify, inspect, replace,
service or repair the pre-tensioner
seat belt assemblies may lead to
improper operation or inadvertent
activation and serious injury.
Always wear the seat belts when driving or riding in a motor vehi-
cle.
If the vehicle or pre-tensioner seat belt must be discarded, we rec-
ommend that you contact an
authorised Kia dealer.

WARNING
If an air bag deploys, there may be a loud noise followed by a fine
dust released in the vehicle. These conditions are normal and
are not hazardous - the air bags
are packed in this fine powder.
The dust generated during air
bag deployment may cause skin
or eye irritation as well as aggra-
vate asthma for some persons.
Always wash all exposed skin
areas thoroughly with lukewarmwater and a mild soap after an
accident in which the air bags
were deployed.

The SRS can function only whenthe ignition key is in the ON posi-
tion. If the SRS air bag warning
light does not illuminate, or con-
tinuously remains on after illumi-
nating for about 6 seconds when
the ignition key is turned to the
ON position, or after the engine is
started, comes on whilst driving,
the SRS is not working properly.
If this occurs, we recommend
that the system be inspected by
an authorised Kia dealer.
Before you replace a fuse or dis- connect a battery terminal, turn
the ignition switch to the LOCK
position and remove the ignition
key. Never remove or replace the
air bag related fuse(s) when the
ignition switch is in the ON posi-
tion. Failure to heed this warning
will cause the SRS air bag warn-
ing light to illuminate.
WARNING
Do not install or place any acces- sories (drink holder, cassette
holder, sticker, etc.) on the front
passenger's panel above the
glove box in a vehicle with a pas-
senger's air bag. Such objects
may become dangerous projec-
tiles and cause injury if the pas-
senger's air bag inflates.
When installing a container of liq- uid air freshener inside the vehi-
cle, do not place it near the
instrument cluster nor on the
instrument panel surface.
It may become dangerous projec-
tiles and cause injury if the pas-
senger's air bag inflates.

For maximum safety protection in all types of crashes, all occu-
pants including the driver should
always wear their seat belts
whether or not an air bag is also
provided at their seating position
to minimize the risk of severe
injury or death in the event of a
crash. Do not sit or lean unneces-
sarily close to the air bag whilst
the vehicle is in motion.
Sitting improperly or out of posi- tion can result in serious or fatal
injury in a crash. All occupantsshould sit upright with the seat
back in an upright position, cen-tred on the seat cushion with
their seat belt on, legs comfort-
ably extended and their feet on
the floor until the vehicle is
parked and the ignition key is
removed.
(Continued)(Continued)
The SRS air bag system mustdeploy very rapidly to provide
protection in a crash. If an occu-pant is out of position because of
not wearing a seat belt, the air
bag may forcefully contact theoccupant causing serious or fatalinjuries.
