Distance to Empty (DTE) or Range E is the estimated distance an EV can be driven with the remaining electric energy until the battery reaches zero. DTE can vary depending on the selected drive mode, current driving conditions, traffic, driving patterns, air conditioner or heater use, and how much cargo you are carrying.

•When decelerating or driving downhill, regenerative braking charges the high voltage bat ter y which minimizes energy loss and increases the Distance to Empt y or Range
•When you set a destination via the on-board navigation system, DTE is calculated based on the route selected. By set ting a final destination, DTE accuracy improves. By knowing the final location, the vehicle can bet ter predict the amount of bat ter y energy it will need to reach that destination
•When operating the climate control, use the DRIVER ONLY function to conser ve energy
•In cold weather, use scheduled heating to reduce the amount of energy consumption
•In the EV Set tings, select WINTER MODE to increase the bat ter y temperature in cold weather

Ready indicator light – Illuminates when the vehicle is ready to drive. When the ready indicator light is blinking, a malfunction has occurred. Have an authorized Kia dealer address the concern as soon as possible.
EV Service warning light – Illuminates when there is a malfunction related to the electric vehicle control system. Have an authorized Kia dealer address the concern as soon as possible.
Power down warning light – Illuminates when the vehicle’s speed and per formance are limited for the safety of the electric vehicle.
Charging indicator light – Shows the charging status of the high-voltage battery. When charging, the green indicator turns on. The indicator turns off when not charging.
High-voltage battery low level warning light – Illuminates when the high-voltage battery charge level is insufficient.
Regenerative brake warning lights (when both indicators are lit) –
Illuminates when the regenerative brake system is not functioning correctly.
A State of Charge (SOC) gauge
The State of Charge gauge displays the high-voltage battery charge status.
B Power / Charge Gauge
The Power / Charge gauge provides information on the energy consumption rate of the vehicle and the charge status of the regenerative brakes.
•POWER – Shows the energy consumption rate of the vehicle
when driving uphill or accelerating. The more electric energy used, the higher the gauge level
•CHARGE – Shows the charging status of the battery when it is being charged by the regenerative brakes. The more electric energy charged, the lower the gauge level
C Distance to Empty (DTE)
DTE is the estimated distance the vehicle can be driven with the remaining high-voltage battery level. The DTE will vary according to the selected drive mode and Climate Control settings.

Energy Consumption
There are several factors that contribute to your electric vehicle’s energy consumption, including maintenance of your vehicle, driving style, weather, durability of the battery and environmental conditions.
Below are tips to help reduce energy consumption:
•Use Scheduled Climate settings to preheat the vehicle before driving
•In EV Settings, select the Winter Mode charge settings
•Keep your vehicle in good condition with regular maintenance
•Don’t “ride” the brake pedal
•Drive at a moderate speed, accelerating smoothly and at a moderate rate
•Use the climate control system less often. Use the Driver Only setting
•Keep tires inflated to the recommended pressure
•Travel lightly, without carrying unnecessary weight in your vehicle
•Ensure wheels are aligned correctly
•Avoid placing large or heavy items on roof racks
•Avoid hilly, winding or poorly maintained roads

Low Battery Warning – When the high-voltage battery level reaches 8% or less, this warning message appears on the LCD and the warning indicator light on the instrument cluster illuminates. Charge the high-voltage battery immediately.
Power limited due to low EV battery temperature. Charge battery – When the outside temperature is low and you turn the vehicle on or off, this warning message may appear on the LCD. If the battery level is low and the vehicle is parked outside for a long time, vehicle power may be limited. Charging battery before driving helps increase power.
Stop vehicle and check power supply – When there is a failure in the power supply system, this warning message appears on the LCD. Park the vehicle in a safe location and have it towed to the nearest Kia dealer for inspection.
EV Battery Overheated! Stop Vehicle – When the high-voltage battery temperature is too high, this warning message will appear on the LCD. Stop the vehicle and turn off the Power button so that the battery temperature decreases.
Charge immediately. Power limited – When the high-voltage battery level reaches 3% or less, this warning message appears on the LCD,
the warning indicator light on the instrument cluster illuminates and the power down warning light turns ON simultaneously.
The vehicle’s power will be reduced to minimize the energy consumption of the high-voltage battery. Charge the high-voltage battery immediately.
Power limited – This warning message appears when the vehicle’s power is limited for the following reasons:
1. When the high-voltage battery is below a
certain level, or voltage is decreasing
2. When the temperature of the motor or high-voltage battery is too high or too low
3. When there is a problem with the cooling system or a failure that may interrupt normal driving

Check the AC/DC charger – When there is a problem with the external AC or DC charger, when the AC charger stops charging or when the charging cable is damaged, this message will appear. Check whether there is a problem with the charger or cable. If no problem is found, see an authorized Kia dealer for further assistance.
Remaining Time – Displays the remaining
time to charge the battery to the selected target battery charge level, current SOC and the charge voltage level.
Check Regenerative Brakes – Displays when the
regenerative brake system does not work properly. In this case, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Charging Stopped. Check the cable connector – When the charging connector is not correctly connected to the charging inlet or the charging connector lock release button is pressed, this message will appear. If this occurs, separate the charging connector and re-connect it. Check whether there is any problem (external damage, foreign substances, etc.) with the charging connector and charging inlet. If the problem continues, see an authorized Kia dealer for assistance.

Drive Mode Integrated Control System
There are four distinct driving modes. Press the Drive Mode button A to select the desired mode.
ECO – This mode can help enhance electric energy efficiency by managing battery usage. The acceleration response may be slightly reduced in this mode. ECO mode automatically changes the vehicle to 2WD or AWD depending on the road conditions
NORMAL – This mode balances drivability and efficiency. Normal mode automatically changes the vehicle to 2WD or AWD depending on the road conditions
SPORT – This mode provides enhanced acceleration and dynamic drivability. The electric energy efficiency may decrease
in this mode
SNOW - Press and hold the Drive Mode button to enter Snow mode. Snow mode automatically changes the vehicle to 2WD or AWD depending on the road conditions
An indicator in the instrument cluster will illuminate to show which drive mode you have selected (no indicator will appear for the NORMAL mode).

EV Charge Transfer / Vehicle to Load (V2L) Video

EV Charge Transfer / Vehicle to Load (V2L) allows you to use the vehicle’s high voltage battery to power electrical devices like home appliances or other electronic devices. V2L can also be used to charge items like electric bikes or another electric vehicle.
If equipped, there are two ports in the interior and exterior. The interior port A is under the rear seat and the other is the charging por t for your EV.
If your EV ’s high-voltage battery discharges to the limit set, the system will automatically stop supply to the ports. Set your EV ’s battery discharge limit in the Infotainment System’s Settings. Press the EV button onscreen. Select VEHICLE TO LOAD (V2L), and EV CHARGE TR ANSFER SETTINGS.
Interior Port - The EV Power button needs to be on to operate the port. Use the Smart Key fob mechanical key to unlock the power outlet cover B. Check the indicators on the port to ensure power is on.
Exterior Port - Open the cover of the V2L connector C and connect your appliance or electronic device. Connect the V2L connector to the charging inlet on the EV, and press the button D on the connector.
REMINDER: Maximum wat tage is 1.9 kW, or 1,900 wat ts.

EV Mode on the Infotainment system screen allows you to navigate several menus that include information on available range, energy information, next departure setting, charging and climate info, vehicle-to-load (V2L) setting, nearby charging stations and EV settings.
EV Mode - Press the EV button on the Infotainment System screen to access the EV Mode
Available Range - Displays the available driving distance according to the vehicle’s current location and charge amount. The projected available driving distance is marked in red on the map
The estimated range is based on a number of factors and assumes optimal driving conditions, efficient driving habits and a straight road. Actual range will vary with options, driving conditions, driving habits, vehicle maintenance, charging practice, battery age, weather, temperature and your vehicle’s condition. Energy Information – Displays battery charge information and electrical power consumption
Next Departure - Displays the date and time set for the next battery charge
Vehicle to Load (V2L) - Displays the battery discharge limit when powering external equipment and devices

Each of the different Drive Modes allows the regenerative braking level to be set at the driver ’s preference.

Regenerative Braking with Paddle Switches
The regenerative braking system charges the battery when coasting or when you use the brakes to stop the vehicle. Use the paddle switches to adjust the regenerative braking level from 0 to 3 during decelerating or braking. The level will be displayed on the instrument cluster A.
•Pull the left paddle switch B to increase regenerative braking and deceleration
•Pull the right paddle switch C to decrease regenerative braking and deceleration
The paddle shifters do not operate when:
•Both paddle shifters are pulled at the same time
•The vehicle is decelerating by depressing the brake pedal
•Smart Cruise Control (SCC) is active
i-Pedal
i-Pedal driving controls the vehicle speed by the accelerator pedal, both acceleration and deceleration. To activate i-Pedal:
•Pull the left side paddle switch B to Level 3 regenerative braking (see indicator on Instrument Cluster)
•Then pull the left side paddle switch B once again when the regenerative braking level is set to Level 3
The i-Pedal indicator symbol will be illuminated on the instrument cluster.

Climate Control Auto Function
Press AUTO to select Full Auto Operation. The Auto setting automatically controls the air flow modes, fan speeds, air intake and air conditioning according to the temperature setting selected. Turn temperature control knob A to the desired temperature.
Auto Defogging System: Auto defogging is designed to reduce the fogging up of the inside of the windshield by automatically sensing the moisture of the inside of the windshield. The
system will automatically change to defrost mode when needed.
Auto Defogging is set ON by default. To cancel Auto Defogging, press and hold the Front Defrost button for three seconds when the vehicle power is on (the defrost button light will flash three times and the ADS OFF icon will illuminate). To turn Auto Defogging on again, press and hold the Front Defrost button again for three seconds and the defrost button light will flash 6 times and ADS OFF icon will turn off.
Driver Only Ventilation: Driver Only Ventilation restricts air flow to the driver ’s side vents only. This can help to optimize driving range by limiting the power drawn from the battery. Press DRIVER ONLY button G to enable air flow through the driver ’s side vents only.
Defrost Outside and/or Inside Windshield:
1. Set Front Fan Speed I to the highest position
2. Set Temperature to Hot A

REMINDERS:

Continuous use of the climate control system in the recirculated air position may allow humidit y to increase inside the vehicle which may fog the glass and obscure visibilit y
•
Pressing any but ton during AUTO operation will deactivate the AUTO function and switch to manual mode, except for Temperature Control
•
When in AUTO mode, Air Flow mode and Fan Speed do not display on the Climate Control Display
•
Cold or warm ambient air may flow in through vents if Recirculated Air but ton is not pressed ON (LED lit)
•
Continuous use of the A /C and heater may allow the Energy Consumption to increase, especially excessive use of the heater
